I think you've made a nice difference to those, taking the shine off but keeping them looking in good order. A super-grimy and neglected steam railway is not what I've experienced first-hand - whenever I've seen Mark 1 coaches they've been kept pretty smart on heritage lines or for railtours, and look much more like what you've done, and I think make for a might happier look 🙂 I'm also not intending to use an air brush when I one day get to weathering things - they look like they're a lot of work to keep clean, plus the need for better ventilation, so it's good to see that just the powders have worked for you.
