I got drunk with this guy and his band one night in the 70's . At the time although a contemporary of his I was a beginner so have only been playing guitar 55 years. They gave me some useful tips. One was from the guitarist, he said '' if you can play a riff correctly 9 times out of 10. You've got it off. '' Marty Wild was very pleased that I remembered certain things he had done musically that some people were not aware of.

What an absolute icon of pop and rock. Marty Wilde wrote and released some highly contemporary late 60s popsike with his 1969 album Diversions. Very few people paid attention, though and Marty was more or less an Oldies act after that. Not saying that's a bad thing. His song catalogue I extensive and vast, just speculating on how Marty could have progressed musically if the record buying public were paying attention to his newer songs.
