I am a High School teacher about to reach Romeo and Juliet. I found this very enlightening and greatley appreciate the content!
Romeo and Juliet was too dangerous to adults with children. They might make their own decisions, take action without permission, choose for themselves to their detriment.
In cutting the play, adults tried to show how wrong things can go without "wiser heads". They tried to show that love
was destructive, excessive, and unsafe.
When asked who is at fault for the outcome, the answer has to be; everyone is at fault.
