In the New Testament, we find a powerful story of healing that echoes the themes of purification we see in Leviticus 15. In the Gospel according to Mark 5:25-34, there is an account of a woman who had been suffering from an issue of blood for twelve years(Similar to the one described in this chapter v 25-30). Despite trying many treatments, she found no relief until she encountered Jesus. Believing in His power to heal, she reached out and touched the edge of His garment. Immediately, her bleeding stopped, and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.
Jesus, feeling the power go out from Him, turned around in the crowd and asked, "Who touched my clothes?" The woman, trembling with fear, came forward and told Him the whole truth. Jesus said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering."
This story highlights Jesus' compassion and the healing that faith in Him can bring. It serves as a reminder that no matter the nature of our impurity or suffering, our faith in Jesus can bring forth a spiritual and a physical renewal. Jesus takes away our impurity and diseases and give us his purity and righteous healing.

Thank you for this video, God is so holy!
Sometimes we forget that nothing unclean can come in His presence. We take for granted the grace of the New Covenant which Jesus purchased with His blood.
What an honor it is to have the freedom to commune with such an awesome God in the spirit! Thank you Lord for nailing all these ordinances on the cross.

Thank your for these series of videos from Leviticus. I am teaching a series on Leviticus and using your videos for the reading of the text. Leviticus 15 is a tough chapter for us to get a grip on-- how does it apply to us? Obviously, I cannot go into much detail, but the sections of this chapter are speaking against the perverted sexual superstitions embedded in the religious practices of the nations surrounding Israel. Bottom line-- the LORD is telling Israel and us: You are to reject the perverted sexual mores of the prevailing culture.

Thank you Jim. Very happy to see these videos are helping you with your teaching series. This is indeed a tough chapter. This chapter is not specifically about sexual impurity (Chapter 18 will deal with it) but its about bodily discharges that would make a person unclean. Chapter 18 as you mentioned talks specifically to not to follow the customs of the Canaanites and goes on to explain their sexual practices. But this chapter is very hard that even normal bodily secretions makes people unclean. The worst part is an unclean person has power over the clean person that they could make them unclean by a simple touch. Most of these bodily emissions indicates the flow of Death (as it is the waste rejected by the body) and when people are under the Law, the Unclean overpowers the Clean. Even the anointed High Priest if he comes in contact with the unclean or the dead can be made unclean. But when we come to the New testament Jesus, our High Priest touches the untouchable lepers and makes them clean with one word. When the woman with the Issue of Blood touches him, he is not made unclean but rather she is made whole. Nothing can make him unclean and he can make anyone clean. In Christ Jesus, Life Reigns. Grace empowers Life. When he touches the dead, they come alive, like the River of Life in Ezekiel, which makes everything alive and pure that is in its path. Where the Spirit of the LORD is , there is Freedom and Life. Here, when Grace is in action, Death is powerless and is swallowed over by the Life giving Spirit. This is my personal understanding this text. Let me know if you have any other thoughts. Thank you for learning and teaching the precious word of GOD. God bless you for all your work in his Kingdom😇

@@thescripturerevival Well, since you asked. The key to understanding the chapter is v. 31-- the chapter is about the proper worship of the Lord in the Tabernacle, which, if violated, was a death sentence. Another key is Lev 18:1-5. Leviticus is burning out of Israel and false religious beliefs/practices they may have embraced during their 400 year captivity in Egypt and preventing them from embracing false religious beliefs/practices of the Canaanites when they enter the land.
The laws of abnormal discharges (vv. 15:1-15; 25-30) describe gonorrhea or some other STD, which was contracted because the person violated God's commands concerning sexual purity. Pagans had no restrictions on those who contracted an STD and no sense of guilt, A sin sacrifice (to acknowledge the sin that brought the disease) and a burnt offering (to show the commitment to follow the Lord's ways) were required if healed. The commands are in stark contrast to the sexual beliefs/practices of the pagans, which set Israel apart from the surrounding nations.
The laws concerning the normal and occasional discharges of semen (vv. 16-17) and menstrual blood (vv. 19-24) are also in stark contrast to pagan religious beliefs. All pagan religions of the ANE thought the earth was fertilized with a god's semen. They Egyptians had a yearly festival where the men would line the Nile, masturbate, and depot their semen in the Nile to encourage Amut to so the same. Pagan ANE religions believed menstrual blood had spiritual and magical properties, so they would ingest it and/or smear it on their bodies. The commands given are in stark contrast to the sexual beliefs/practices of the pagans, which set Israel apart from them.
Normal relations between husband and wife also made the couple unclean (v. 15). Why? Superstitious beliefs about ritualistic sex were at the heart of all the pagan religions of the ANE. The Lord is making it very clear that the ritualistic sexual practices of the pagans are in no way involved in Israel’s worship of the LORD. This command, and all the others, are radical laws that distinguished Israel from the other nations, These commands told Israel, and tell us, that the false sexual ideas and practices of the prevailing culture are not to find a home among God’s people.
Again, love your videos, and especially liked the one for Lev 15.
