Shame Behringer doesn't make decent user manuals. I have and love this thing but I was able to put in the time to tweak it and find out how it works. It's getting a lot of negative reviews because people don't know how to get it working well. Mine came out of the box with CV offset way too high. I had to crank down my oscillators lower than they could go to match the incoming note. In order to fix it, I had to tweak the pots in back and do other adjustments with the button on the back. This was just from experimenting but a manual would still be nice.
Vince, Thanks for commenting. I've noticed the same "biasing" of the CV, but just tuned appropriately (low) and went with it. Can you quickly document what you adjusted? I'd love to know what to tweak (and what not to touch). Is there any use case that I left out of the video?
@@ozhalljr there are two pots. And once I got it just right, I didn't want to mess with it again. One adjusts tracking/interval and the other is an offset (can't remember which is which). Plus, when you press the button while powered on, the right knob adjusts offset as well. The LEDs turn into a binary readout counting up and down indicating the offset amount. There was another thing I couldn't figure out after tinkering for awhile. If you hold the back button in while powering on the unit, the front LEDs flash and the unit becomes inoperable. I'm wondering if that's some kind of factory mode for calibration. Or, what I really think it is, is the mode for receiving firmware update? Not sure if the device is fully analog. The Behringer Tribe app does recognize the PP1 when you plug it into the PC with its USB port.
Where did you find out about the manual offset adjustment via the "Gate" knob? I trust the "button" is on the back of the circuit board, right? The only documentation that I've seen is the quickstart manual. Perhaps I should reread it.
@@ozhalljr sorry I missed your response. I found it by trial and error. And yes the button is accessible on the rear of the PCB. I hate it when manufacturers make you pull the module to do things!
