There is another important parietal art site in Nouvelle-Aquitaine called The Roc aux Sorciers (Sorcerer's Rock), dating from the same period as Lascaux (Magdalenian period). The original site is also close to the public for its protection, but it can be discovered through a center with two different reproductions of its carved frieze. You can learn more about it on this video : ua-cam.com/video/-kQ1UyP29iE/v-deo.html and about de discovery center on this video : ua-cam.com/video/YuXwZ9bWVhI/v-deo.html
Check out the October 1988 issue of national geographic. Best issue ever. The peopling of the earth. It has the story of Lascaux cave and its discovery.
The dog was called Robot. Don't worry, he continued to be fine after this fabulous experience ! I have read that he camped with his master the young Jacques Marsal near the cave for two years after the discovery of Lascaux. I don't know for how long he lived after that but one thing is shure : he became famous !!!
The paintings in the Lascaux caves may NOT be prehistoric! One painting in particular has been copied from the dendera star map. The bull, the man, the bird on a pole and a rhinoceros. The constellation Monoceros (the unicorn) was also interpreted as the RHINOCEROS. So, why am I saying this painting cannot be prehistoric? Because the constellation of the unicorn was never established until the 17th century! When the cave was found in the 1940's there was already a "tunnel" leading to the cave.
@@aryakia850 Thing is - the Monoceros constellation (the Rhino) wasn’t named as such until the 17th century: this painting would’ve probably been made after the 17th century.

I'd freak out if I saw those in a cave because I would think someone would still be in there lol
👻😨😅
I didn't know the Lascaux cave was rediscovered by schoolboys. I'm glad they told a teacher who knew enough to consult with an expert.
Yes. They both had the best reaction possible.

Total hogwash. They are prehistoric. Look up the national geographic issue October 1988.
the use of modern technic for these paintings are obvious. it looks fake.
