I just got hired at Sephora and have only worked at two other beauty counters. I’ve been binge watching your videos and they are really helping me do some prep work before my first day so I can go in with enough knowledge on other products. 💕💕💕
When using Retin-A my skin was very dry. I tried every hydrating primer. The only primer that truly worked was Cover Fx antiaging primer. I don't think it gets enough love. Initially, it looks like vaseline, but after drying feels wonderful. Still use it, still love it.
I really wanna see “I am looking for...” a moisturizer for dry skin my face is dry and has redness I’m so over it I use ponds face cream for years lol but I’m over it I need something good!!! Hope to see this video soon just subscribed ❤️
I have painfully dry skin, and my skincare products have really healed and plumped my skin. I use a brand called Honey Girl Organics. I use their Extra Sensitive Makeup Removing Cleanser and their Extra Sensitive The Lotion Face and Body (doubles as an eye cream). I used to pile on the moisturizer, too, and nothing hydrated my skin. These products have saved my skin. I really hope these products (or any others they have) help you as much (or more) as they have helped me!!! :) x
I use this fruit of the earth Vitamin E cream, it’s a very cost friendly moisturizer at Walmart, there versions that a very dense and instantly hydrate and plump my skin. It’s helped my skin over the past couple months.
I feel like everyone sleeps on the Giorgio Armani fluid master primer! It's a little pricey, but oh my goodness it's my ride or die for dryer skin. It makes my foundation go on so smooth and last all day.
I just found your channel, and I love it!💜 Finally, someone who explains makeup products for dry skin in depth! I have trouble finding good products, because my face is super dry. Thanks for the videos! Looking forward to more videos targeted for dry skin! :)
I LOVVVVE the too faced hangover primer. I have only used the samples in the packets of this, but I absolutely love it and the smell! I do want to try that Becca cosmetics one as well
Dumb question but you put the hangover primer over your skincare and SPF? I’m wondering how it would layer over a moisturizer with a little oil in it, since the hangover is water based.
I have small dry patches around my check area, and redness. What primer would help? Would the smashbox you mentioned help? I would like one for Pores Too !!
Cover FX makes a great "Calming Primer" that has ingredients that helps with redness prone skin. This primer will help bring the redness down while hydrating and priming your skin for makeup application. Also, a high end product that's really worth your $ is the Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment! It has a green tint that transforms into a beige color while you work it into your skin. This will cover most of the redness before you even touch your face with any foundation, this product is very effective and it also has spf 30 (It also calms redness and irritation). My absolute favorite primer for pores is the Makeup Forever Smoothing Primer. Here's a link to my video about Sephora's best mattifying/smoothing primers! ua-cam.com/video/Ss0P8rNeI6w/v-deo.html (The Smashbox Primerizer will be great to treat any dry patches because it'll keep your skin hydrated. This primer won't actively work to calm redness though) Hope this helps!
i have dry skin, but i also have bumps, so its annoying when most hydrating, dewy primes have shimmers in them! just accentuates imperfections, that i didnt even know i had...
tacos forlife i would apply a hydrating primer all over your face and then like a pore filler primer on the areas you have bumps it sort of smooths them out that’s what i do, i use the primerizer from smashbox and baby skin primer for areas i have texture and let it sit while you fill in your eyebrows/eyeshadow
Jennifer Nguyen moisturize the skin, apply makeup, powder where you get oily only (not everywhere). That MIGHT help. I do this, usually. My t-zone is prone to it, so I powder forehead and the part of my cheeks immediately next to my nose. Maybe try spot powdering? Hopefully it’ll help!
Hi Mariam! It is highly recommended to intensify the hydration of the skin before applying makeup when you notice your foundation is accentuating texture. You can do this by treating the skin with a thicker moisturizer (Such as the Drunk Elephant Lala whipped cream or Dr. Jart Cicapair cream). A good primer is important but treating the skin is what truly will make a difference in the overall finish of your makeup. If you want more information on skincare/moisturizers I have a video on the best moisturizers at Sephora! ua-cam.com/video/qT0RGgf1HIc/v-deo.html I hope this helps! 💕
Omg that happens to me too!!! I would sometimes apply skin oil just on my nose & leave it overnight & it helps. I still haven’t found a good moisturizer that helps me get rid of it :(
I really love the new tarte h2o primer its probably my favorite primer at the moment it's very hydrating and gives a good tackiness to keep your foundation on better but I always love trying new products especially for my dry skin.
I have like super dry skin, you can literally peel it and it would look like chips and the becca primer DID NOT work at all, it shows of my flaky skin more and just makes my foundation look sooooooo weird
The Too faced Hangover Rx primer is better for people with normal/dry skin. If you lean more normal/combination then the smashbox primerizer will be better!
Hi Cynthia I am 57 and have dry skin so should I be using setting powder or translucent powder to set my foundation? Or just a setting spray .As I like make up a bit illumating not matte.Thnx
Hello Archana! If you prefer a more luminous finish over a matte finish, then going with a setting spray would be the way to go. Also, it is highly advised to use a little setting powder around the eye area as the eye area is notorious for creasing. I hope this helps! 😃
I'm glad you found value from this video! And to answer your question, yes, it would be great to use both a water-based primer along with your water-based foundation. The finish of your foundation will be radiant and pretty! (tip: set areas of your face that tend to crease, for me that would be my smile lines and chin) Hope this helps!
The smashbox primerizer is going to be better for combination skin. The too faced hangover primer has olive/olive oil extracts so that might be too much oil/hydration for your skin type. Hope this helps!
It will not only "plump" the pores, but it will also plump the whole face because your skin's hydration and water levels will increase after it absorbs this formula. The reason for this is because this primer is packed with super hydrating and conditioning ingredients such as coconut water, rose water, olive oil, and willow extract. Hope this helps!
For me, I think that when our skin is dry and kind of sagging, the pores are exaggerated. So, by giving it hydration and causing it to plump up, the pores appear smaller. Idk. I just know that my skin sags and if it plumped up, I can see how my pores wouldn't appear as enlarged. But it's also like that because I'm probably just losing collagen and my skin is sagging as I age. Lol. If that makes any sense. Lol.
I can't justify using a primer that's not cruelty free and vegan. Plus people forget to mention if your foundation is water based your primer can't have oil or silicon to work. Unfortunately water based never fills the pores to where it is noticeable.
I don’t have much experience with with Guerlain makeup but usually high end brands tend to have some of the best complexion products because they’re able to get high quality ingredients in them. I’m sure a Guerlain primer would be exceptional 😊
I wish i could afford the too faced hangover primer :( i know you work at sephora but do you have any drugstore recommendations? Im a teen mom so cant really splurge on myself

i realize it's kinda randomly asking but does anyone know a good site to stream new movies online ?
What about dry to extra dry skin and sensitive? That would be me.
Same.
When using Retin-A my skin was very dry. I tried every hydrating primer. The only primer that truly worked was Cover Fx antiaging primer. I don't think it gets enough love. Initially, it looks like vaseline, but after drying feels wonderful. Still use it, still love it.

Yayy thank you for subscribing! And don’t you worry...I already have a skin care video up my sleeve 😏

Cera ve works for nearly everyone. Recommended by my dermotologist
I use the first aid beauty facial cream it works so well I have very dry flaky skin I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
I feel like everyone sleeps on the Giorgio Armani fluid master primer! It's a little pricey, but oh my goodness it's my ride or die for dryer skin. It makes my foundation go on so smooth and last all day.
I’ve actually heard really good things about this primer. I’m going to try to use it more when I do custom makeovers at Sephora 😃

What do you think about the first aid beauty priming moisturizer? Loved the video!!
Love how you explain in the video and how you answer in the comments.
What camera/lighting do you use? Your quality is amazing.
Thank you! I use a canon 80D to film and 4 soft boxes as lighting. Most soft boxes on amazon are really good quality. I hope this helps!
That’s the video I was looking for! Amazing series!
Love the video! Between the too faced and the Laura Mercier primers, which one makes your foundation last longer?
Andrea Moreno too faced for me!! laura mercier primers kind of make my makeup move in my opinion
I really want the to try the becca primer

@@laurenxval thank u! ill try this! xoxo
Even glowing foundations make my skin look dry after just 2 hours. I use the hangover primer. Can you suggest a good foundation for very dry skin? Xxx
Try smashbox hydrating foundation
No matter what foundation I use, my face gets cakey. My skin is dry but it gets only in the t zone. Which primer should I use?
Jennifer Nguyen moisturize the skin, apply makeup, powder where you get oily only (not everywhere). That MIGHT help. I do this, usually. My t-zone is prone to it, so I powder forehead and the part of my cheeks immediately next to my nose. Maybe try spot powdering? Hopefully it’ll help!
What lashes and lipstick ?!
What primer would you guys recommend me for dry, oily skin like my nose would be flaky when I apply foundation it triggers me !

Will the Too faced primer help with dry textured skin :) love this video
Jazmyne Marquez yessss it feels really great but i would recommend using the smash box primerizer for longevity and hydration
I have like super dry skin, you can literally peel it and it would look like chips and the becca primer DID NOT work at all, it shows of my flaky skin more and just makes my foundation look sooooooo weird
girlll just subscribed!!! what camera and lights you use? i want to start a youtube chanel and i love your qualityyyy! thanks
thank you so much for this video. Which one is better/would you recommend, the smashbox primerizer or the too faced hangover? thank you
The Too faced Hangover Rx primer is better for people with normal/dry skin. If you lean more normal/combination then the smashbox primerizer will be better!
Yes! Thank youu!!!
Kat von d too is a good option
I just purchased color fx calming primer because I’m dry and sensitive but I don’t like it do you suggest too faced better

This was such great information. I have a question. If you use a water base foundation should you use a water base primer?
I'm glad you found value from this video! And to answer your question, yes, it would be great to use both a water-based primer along with your water-based foundation. The finish of your foundation will be radiant and pretty! (tip: set areas of your face that tend to crease, for me that would be my smile lines and chin) Hope this helps!
And if we use a water base foundation.. which primer is the best for combo skin ?
The smashbox primerizer is going to be better for combination skin. The too faced hangover primer has olive/olive oil extracts so that might be too much oil/hydration for your skin type. Hope this helps!
What about it cosmetics bye bye pores primer? How does that fair?
Your teeth are perfection 😍
Can you use primerizer with any foundation?
When you talk about the two faced hangover primer you say it “plumps” your pores? What do you mean by that exactly?
It will not only "plump" the pores, but it will also plump the whole face because your skin's hydration and water levels will increase after it absorbs this formula. The reason for this is because this primer is packed with super hydrating and conditioning ingredients such as coconut water, rose water, olive oil, and willow extract. Hope this helps!

You’re welcome! 😃
I love your nails. What color is that ?
If you have to choose between becca first light and smashbox primerizer, which would it be?
jeanchristie primerizer!!
What lashes are you wearing?
I can't justify using a primer that's not cruelty free and vegan. Plus people forget to mention if your foundation is water based your primer can't have oil or silicon to work. Unfortunately water based never fills the pores to where it is noticeable.
