Max R the joke is the surface is clearly not to finish, meaning it had only been rough-passed and not finish-passed, which would require a constant and specific feed rate or turn speed so the surface has tons of variations of dimensions. Throughout the video you're led to believe "oh yea, a kid wouldn't bother to finish the surface, he just wants to cut metal" only to reveal at the end the print has all those dimensions as requirements for the part so his kid did an almost impossible job perfectly.

A true master in what you do sir.
Thanks
*I see MAHO I click.*
I'm a simple man
enjoyed the visit... all the best to you and the family including the cat/dog
The ending! You are an absolute madlad!! xD
Love the drawing! Actually my first lathe experience was just like your son's - brought back memories of the very patient machinists that let me carve a piece of broomstick 50 years ago. To me they were superhuman gods of wisdom and skill, and each time I make a rookie mistake in my shop I can imagine the snickers from them.
I love you Tony!!
I bought your shirt, its the only thing I sleep in now!!
This was a wonderful video, thank you! I started out on a mini lathe like that in high school, your boy’s got an excellent head start if he’s enjoying it now. It’s funny that he’s doing woodworking. My dad was a woodworker and all I wanted to do was make stuff out of metal. Funny how that goes! Good luck in these interesting times.
When I first saw the title for this video my brain thought it said 'Ransom Updates' lol.
Great to see This Old Tony sharing knowledge with This Young Tony. And by the way - I for one would not have been able to make this part as accurately as Junior Tony. Compliments
"Mind passing me the print?"
Mini TOT seems like a chip off the ol' block! Great video. Thanks for sharing!
5:44 Beavis & Butthead: You said "doo doo"! (laughs) =)
7:02 Delta has a lifetime guarantee. Call their toll-free number, and they will mail the parts to you FREE!
My old lady said "he said doo doo" also during the video. I showed her your comment. "See someone else is on my level" hahaha
With all that's going on in the world, the doom & gloom, you bring out the best of the best, humour & wit.... Absolute brilliant.
7:16 there is a glitch in the matrix again... run!
Kids learning takes precedent over dad's fun project. You're a good dad, Tony.
Lmao.
I actually laughed when you pulled out that print.
Lmao...! Lol...! 😂😂😂😂
The end with the print was really funny. I laughed for a minute.

Started watching your videos not too long ago, and only done some machining during my high school days so I'm not much of a machinist but boy are your videos funny, great content! Thank you!
Ahhh you always remember their first shi ehh chips... :3 one step closer to your own child labour workforce I guess? :D
Hi Tony and his family, I just wanted to say thanks for posting vids, and letting us have some of his time, right now we can all sure use his humor more than ever. Thanks again TOT
I’m showing my wife this video in a hope I get to buy matching lathes for me and my son!
Alex Blackburn I recommend you lose that beard first before you lose it the quick way 🤭
“Grumpy One” I have a man bun you can’t see as well, that’s a legitimate fear I have! I’ve seen liveleak before!! 🤮
Ok that spec sheet at the end? My gosh, priceless lol! Thank you so much Tony, i really enjoy your vids :)
You got mentioned on Linus Tech Tips earlier today, cause of your welding :)
Anyways have a nice day

@@NiccoTimo thanks a lot (-;
Keep them coming TOT, New Zealand has just joined the world lockdown, there's a comfort in the knowledge we are all in our shops/sheds/garages together .
How do I convince my wife that I can please her with a new lathe?
Buy it for her, and hope she hates it. :)
Toy.
I don't know, but you definitely should not get a "MAHO"...
Look at what Tony’s kid did, imagine it smoother and present it as a project...
I just want to say, I really enjoy your videos, your personality and antidotes keep me laughing and forgetting about all the dumb stuff going on outside the confines of my house. Keep up the great videos. PS - Super jealous of your collection, it's an Imagineer's dream for sure!
question: "how old is this old tony in homosapiens years?"
I actually get really excited whenever i see you've uploaded a new video, I like AvE also but youre my favorite.
If "FIRST" Was an achievement, I'd always come in 5th.
I tend to be a Turd ;)
sounds better in Irish, maybe more accurate in English, no idea what in American.
@@aga5897 Turd means Politician in American
