Brought back memories of when as a little kid, we would take the "Flyer" from Sydney to Newcastle to visit my grandparents. Generally, a 46 class (electric) would haul it to Gosford, and I would get out on the platform, and run up to the front of the train to see the engines changed over - most of the time it was a 38 class taking the final stage to Newcastle. Not quite the same romance about the journey now. Thanks for posting.
You should note the names of the stations the train stops at when they stop. It would give a better perspective to those of us unfamiliar with them. :-)
Wasn’t fast enough so I played it at 2x! It’s must be what high speed rail might feel like except the many sharp twists and turns would have derailed us. Thanks for a fun ride. Might actually take this trip if I ever visit my home country again. From California.
If you average say 80 kms per hour not including stops and the distance is 118 kms from central to Newcastle that would be 1.475 hours people, I think this person should ride bullet train . 😂😂😂😂

Sadly the last three stops are now gone due Novocastrians being "Gladys'ed"

+Brendan Richards Wondabyne Station is a request stop so if there is someone waiting/signalling the driver then the train stop at that station.

The time record Central to Newcastle is still hel by a C38 steam loco pulling the Newcastle Flyer in a shade under two hours.
