Yeah, now that you mention it he does kind of sound like David back in the day. I used to dislike Kirk's performance. It's nothing against him personally, I just felt that Shadow's voice felt off in Generations. Seeing that he's improved so much since then is awesome.
Kirk Thornton seems to be getting shadow's voice down, finally, in the beginning he sounded so much like vegeta but it's understandable, Even Jason Griffith sounded weird the first time shadow appeared in Sonic X, He sounds more similar to the shadow from adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes which was voiced by David Humphrey
It's kinda like when Jason took over from Drummond, in the first episode of Sonic X, Jason tries to sound like Drummond especially with that nasally voice

Kirk really is improving that Shadow voice. When he first started with Free Riders and such it was a rocky start. He now pretty much sounds like an older David Humphrey's Shadow, with a little bit of Griffith whispers here and there. Its almost like a mix of the two almost, I like it. And the hate he gets isn't warranted, because he CAN act. It was a miscast or misdirection, if anything, at the start of it all.

Kirk's shadow voice in this sounds so smooth and so much like shadow. Why was he so gravelly sounding in the show then? :p
SpeedXaaa He has to say the lines the way the voice director tells him to. Sad because if he was allowed to voice Shadow the way he does here and in Sonic Forces, he’d be a really good Shadow.

I really like how Sonic cheered Amy up by talking about SonAmy and saying the there is always the 50th anniversary. At least the relationship didn’t changed with Sonic and Amy after that event before they are being in Season 2 next after that.
