This is not That Person's Name Is, and I'm glad. I just finished playing through both Default and Second back-to-back in preparation for this game, doing the sidequests in every single loop in order to get all the Asterisk holders' journal entries. I loved That Person's Name Is when I first heard it, but it started to lose its charm after close to 100 boss battles across the two games. This, however, is refreshing, and it slaps.
I like the more electronic feel that this theme has. “That persons name is” will always be great, but I really like the energy this one has. This is easily the most “rock and roll” asterisk theme
Since the track is named job boss 0 theme (found trough datamining), we can maybe assume that they plan on doing multiple tracks for the different asterisks users. That would be really cool.
More like it's probably a work in progress. Also, in RPGs there are different kinds of bosses that use different themes so if anything it's more likely that each one of the same class uses the same theme but different levels have their own as per usual thus the numbering.
I think it's mostly because the first game had such godly music, and people are upset that it's different now. Sure, the new stuff takes some getting used to, but it's still fantastic in its own right.
The first two Brave games are both amazing in terms of gameplays. However, Bravely Default (the first game) is rated much higher by most players than Bravely Second because its boss and character themes are extremely epic and distinctive as played by many kinds of instruments, and its final boss theme is popularly recognized as one of the most unique boss themes of all time (try listening to the 4 character themes first, then listen to Serpent Devouring The Horizon and you will understand). Bravely Second's themes, however, are only played by guitars, and 4 character themes sound similar to each other, and boss themes are, well, not as good as those of Bravely Default. So most of the fans feel the quality of the game drops significantly, and I hear that they complained a lot to Nintendo about this. Furthermore, Revo, the band responsible for the music of this game, was also responsible for the music of the Bravely Default, while another band was responsible for Bravely Second. Therefore, everyone expects music of this game is as amazing as those of the first one. Honestly, I think this song is really good, but it's not as good as the Asterisk Boss theme of Bravely Default. But let's wait for semi-final and final boss theme of this game.
@@tatinh9885 Yeah, I can see that. Personally, I see these games as their own thing but in the same universe, so I don't really compare them to each other. One of the reasons why I didn't like Bravely Second as much as I wanted to wasn't because I thought it was worst than Bravely Default but because the story didn't really capture my attention, the music was good but overwhelmed with too much guitars (Literally, that guitar made all the battle music samey), the final boss was EVEN MORE forgettable than the one in Bravely Default, some cut scenes were handled in questionable ways that broke the immersion, and it barely felt like there was urgency, even though the game establishes that there should be, but the characters don't really think much of it or straight up ignore things that SHOULD have raised so many red flags. I guess what I'm trying to get at is that I don't care if it's better than or worst Bravely Default. I just want the game to be good. Playing the demo, I can say that I am intrigue to know the character's story, and the songs really helped solidify my want for this game so I can find out more.
What bugs me the most is, that the standard battle theme's first 3 seconds start like the old one, and I always have that in my head, because I think it is more fitting than the new one.
If you listen to this and then the track molten mine from sonic and the black knight you will notice both songs share some of the same tune. However you'll have to listen very close to both tracks.
I don't know but at 1:38, it like to tell "Road ahead might hard but you can overcome it". Sounds typical, but that's what I feel. Kind like generic boss battle. menacing but gives courage to win. Aside not so beat like "That Person's name is", this Asterisk boss looks nice to me. Might hope they polish it more in finalize version.
I think my absolute favorite part of this soundtrack is that THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE ASTERISK THEME THIS TIME!!! I kept hearing new themes during Asterisk fights, and it just made me so fucking HYPE.
I've read some of the comments here, and I can understand some of the grievances that can be had. But here are my two cents. I loved Bravely Default and That Person's Name Is to absolute bits when I played it. I missed out on Bravely Second but took the time to listen to the themes. I wasn't the biggest fan, but they had their own charms. I plan to play the demo and hopefully play this. And from what I am listening to right now, this isn't That Person's Name Is. It is it's OWN PIECE AND IT IS JUST AS GOOD IN IT'S OWN RIGHT. Not every piece of music has to give off the same energy in the same exact way. All three themes are for their own game and are meant to fit their own aesthetics.
Everyone who says this isn't as good as 'That Person's name is' hasn't truly felt and appreciated the parts starting at 1:15 and 1:37 . Look past your nostalgia and embrace yet another great piece of music!
So, having watched the developer update video that just came out, I think it's safe to say that this isn't actually the Asterisk Boss theme, or at least it isn't the only one, as in that video at around the one minute thirty second mark the BGM switches to something that sure as hell sounds like an Asterisk Boss theme. That's not to say this song isn't awesome, but I suspect it will end up being the normal Boss theme in the final release (assuming that there's only one Asterisk Boss theme, of course).
I've had my suspicions about this since the existence of a "Jobboss 1" theme that went unused in the demo. It sounded very incomplete, even compared to this one. This is internally called "Jobboss 0".
Really, comparing any basic-boss-theme to He Of The Name or Battle Of Tribulations is an unfair comparison. This is pretty good for how it made the battle feel as I was playing and I like it
I really gotta get around to finishing this game. I got to the part with the bridge that the lady with the crossbow is blocking then just never touched it again. Its been like a year and a half.
From what I've seen and heard just by watching the trailers religiously, this is Wizwald's asterisk boss theme. The one in the final demo is Savalon's asterisk boss theme, and the one in the Rimedahl trailer is obviously Rimedahl's asterisk boss theme. I just wonder what Holograd's asterisk boss theme is gonna be........
I'm only skeptical of this being for Wiswald due to the fact that Bernard has a variation of this theme in the final demo outside of battle. So to me, at least for now, this song is specifically for Bernard. ua-cam.com/video/eMUjpPpkXSg/v-deo.html
The fact that this game has multiple asterisk themes tiered by battle significance is just incredible.

I didnt hate BS's soundtrack or anything but Revo being back makes me super happy. This is a great track.
I will play this game for the music alone
This has grown on me so much the more I listen to it. I can't wait to face off against more Asterisk holders in the future while banging to this tune!
What an absolute banger. The best song in an awesome soundtrack.
I love this track. It’s bonkers good
Best boss battle theme ever!
This has that anime hero style going on, and I’m definitely here for it!
this one has an Octopath vibe more so than a Bravely vibe. not complaining at all. both games are amazing!
Octopath is part of this FF sub series anyway.
Final Fantasy 4 Heroes of Light (call back to old FF games) > Bravely Default (originally intended to be 4HoL2 and using the same basic gameplay, but overall more simple as it is meant to be an entry title) > Bravely Second > Octopath (same basic gameplay once again, but with more difficulty because it's not an entry title) > Bravely Default II.
They've all been headed by Team Asano at SE, just with different development studios and goals using that same gameplay.
This isn't "This person's name is" but every time I listen to this or any of the asterisk themes I have to default because they all slap and slap HARD.
Blessing of being a Laurant: getting to enjoy every masterpieces from Revo, whatever he works for
Curse of being a Laurant: following every thing he works for and hearing the screams of your wallet
February 26 feels so far away still! I WANT THIS GAME NOW!!!
I know that feel, dude! I preordered it weeks ago because I want to play it immediately when it comes out!
Yup
Masterpiece once again.
I like the more electronic feel that this theme has. “That persons name is” will always be great, but I really like the energy this one has. This is easily the most “rock and roll” asterisk theme
It’s so amazing
PRAISE BE TO THE RETURN OF REVO!
Eat sorcery!
I was sad when I progressed too far and this theme music quit playing 😢
True. 😢😢😢
"You drongos are in for a thrashing!"
I am in love with the bass at 1:29
1:02 - 1:05 Definitely takes beats from the original BD theme. I love it.
1:37 The following part reminds me of kowareta marionette from revo's 2nd work, thanatos.
Me: Listens
Also Me:
This is the best one. I’M ONLY 3 SECONDS IN
I feel that.
Why are so many people complaining about this theme personally I really like(I haven't played the other bravely default games sadly)
I think it's mostly because the first game had such godly music, and people are upset that it's different now. Sure, the new stuff takes some getting used to, but it's still fantastic in its own right.
It still demo, pretty sure they gonna re-arrange the music again later, like they did with Bravely Second Demo to the finalize.
Because this

The theme of 99 ethers

Can't wait to get my ass kicked by everything since even regular enemies make extensive use of Brave and Default.
I was just surprised that the Thief boss had over 20,000 HP for the first boss
It says at the start that the difficulty is boosted in the demo, so hopefully it will be less brutal in the full game.
I like the difficulty boost, personally. I hope the full game has a Hard Mode option that retains the demo's difficulty boost.
Mood lmfao
kb Oh ok. I thought I was just rushing through the game and or suck.
Bernard's turn:
Brave x3
Two-Shots Gloria
One-shots Elvis
Steal Hp (Seth barely survives)
Default
Adelle's turn:
Me: ... **Surprised Pikachu face*
He surprised me too...This game don't messed around with this boss...
fuck me I got an add for bob's burgers in the middle of this and it scared the shit out of me
Just the beginning has me pumped holy
I don't know but at 1:38, it like to tell "Road ahead might hard but you can overcome it".
Sounds typical, but that's what I feel. Kind like generic boss battle. menacing but gives courage to win.
Aside not so beat like "That Person's name is", this Asterisk boss looks nice to me. Might hope they polish it
more in finalize version.
I think my absolute favorite part of this soundtrack is that THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE ASTERISK THEME THIS TIME!!! I kept hearing new themes during Asterisk fights, and it just made me so fucking HYPE.
wow, i just played the demo and loved this theme, epic AF
Just completed this game and achieved the true ending. Fucking damn near perfect JRPG!
thanks pro jared for introducing me to this game XD!
Bernard:
Bippity boppity, your BP-oppity is now my property
This isn't the 1st Asterisk Boss theme anymore, its the 2nd one.
From 0:02 - 0:05, the melody is almost exactly the same as the first opening of Attack on Titan.
I wonder why
You mean the second opening.
Best asterisk battle theme
Absolutely my favorite song from the entire game!
This is internally called "Jobboss 0".
that theme could be some Character's exclusive battle theme
Pretty sure that's just another normal battle theme. Has the same intro as the battle theme in both demos so far.
Amazing Song, 10 / 10
You're back. Thought the nintendo ninjas ended you for good. Good to see you back.
Really, comparing any basic-boss-theme to He Of The Name or Battle Of Tribulations is an unfair comparison. This is pretty good for how it made the battle feel as I was playing and I like it
Cleaner, more elegant and pop version of" that person's name is". Love it.
Move over "That Person's Name Is". There's a new favorite theme, and it's awesome.
Actually my favourite asterisk theme
Awesome Track!! Epic and a little orchestrated as well!!
I really gotta get around to finishing this game. I got to the part with the bridge that the lady with the crossbow is blocking then just never touched it again. Its been like a year and a half.
There is no theme song.
Hand over your BP.
I need 10 hours version of it
I finally got around to playing the BDII demo, and I gotta say. The mechanics? Questionable. The music? SLAPS!
thank goodness the music is awesome for these 20 minutes boss fights (in hard) xD
back then i thought this is the only Asterisk battle theme
oh god, how fortunate i was so wrong back then.
That descending bass riff gives me chills
@@NoNameAtAll11 turns out you were right. There's at least 3 different asterisk boss themes.
3:10 best part.
I feel like everyone is complaining about people complaining instead of just listening...
1 day 2 and a half hours to go boys and girls!
