360 treadmills, finger tracking, full body tracking, haptic feedback suit, the Oasis is coming bois
@Carter Steidley It won't be on the market for another decade because they have to make sure it won't ever bug and really badly hurt lol.
2014 "VR is a fad"
2015 "VR is a fad"
2016 "VR is a fad"...
2019 we have a suit.
EDIT: What about 2017 and 2018? Everyone was crying about VR being too expensive while watching cat videos on their $800 phones.
Or watching "Reality shows" on their $1000 TV's with $800 Surround Sound systems and 7 speaker hookups running wires everywhere. All for immersive 3D audio to "feel like you're in the action!"
They also said the same thing about personal computers in the 80s
Don't get me wrong vr in 2014 was definitely a gimmick but now it's the wave, the next gen to gaming
Can't wait to feel the ground under my feet while walking in VR! ...with haptic socks.
If VR gets more and more realistc people will not give a fuck anymore about killing each other
jon watson holy moly sauce, I almost pre-ordered the haptic socks, thanks for helping me not waste my money
Another crusty sock for your mother to wash? Cause i doubt you want them for walking hahah
Oh boy, imagine this in VRchat, who knows what would happen.
we are getting close to ready player one

They’ll probably have the max pain about the same as a paintball shot, and probably adjustable edit: btw I get the joke, I’m just spreading info
I like to play Ark in pvp... You can tranquilize other players, handcuff them, and put them in cages. Some people kill your pets in front of you, and beat you to keep you unconscious while talking to you. I can't imagine what it would be like feeling all of that... In our lifetime we're going to be able to experience this
@@BogOwl You know there's going to be illegal mods, and people selling custom equipment. Congratulations you get to torture random people legally like a psychopath or, live out bdsm fetish without bruising
Ready Player One is set on 2045.
We're getting this in 2020.
Are we getting ahead of sci-fi. Wow!!
@@johncontreras2327 Yeah but I believe haptic suits and gloves werent there at the start only the view sense and the sound sense like VR today.
5:20 what we really want the suit for is to feel love for the first time
Forget a vest for being shot, we need the headpat hat.
No wait, the vest can also be used for hugs. So it's good too.
Maybe add a feature to headsets that allow them to "boop" you, on the nose. ._.
@@UnknownSquid if someone would make a headpat hat i would protect it at all costs
Of course the first game native with this is literally just some weird anime chick touching you with jiggle physics
They knew that everyones true goal in life is to get headpats by a (totally legal) demon loli.
what if someone kicks you in the nuts in a game
The face of your profile picture does a pretty good job of showing how that would feel
I love how at @5:23 you're like I DIDN'T TOUCH HER I SWEAR LOOK NO HANDS
I'd really love to see this be supported by Rec Room, playing paintball and feeling the shots on your body when you get hit would be amazing
Yeah, that would be great. BHaptics have their own paintball game which I tried at Gamescom and it was really cool. Fingers crossed for Rec Room support []-)
Virtual Reality Oasis I met the devs during Gamescom 2018 as well and asked to please consider implementing native support with RecRoom and Onward. I connected them to the devs but don’t know anymore if it is going to become something. I believe most devs are working to improve the experience for most of us and this haptic feedback kit is not something that many will have. Still, i can tell you @firestorm185, it is an amazing experience. This and the Arizona Sunshine demo were hands down the best VR experiences!
@@VirtualRealityOasis god in rec room you would get beaten up every five minutes

I have a marvelous idea!
Says the Japanese...
“You get poked by a weird Japanese school girl”
As you are in VR...
This with that treadmill thing and full body tracking will be amazing
I hope within my lifetime games will get up to ready player one and we can use gloves

This guy looks like a channel that has like 600k+ subs but for some reason he's only at 42k.
Sony is still moving tons of headsets, don't know what you're on about. That being said, it is still a smaller portion of the overall gaming audience so channels specifically dedicated to it will remain smaller. Still, more and more people are seeing the light. If you aren't super prone to motion sickness, there's no going back to flat games after using vr.
RanBNO _ contractors he also says it at the start of the game footage. Its on steam.
@@linktotwilight he's not fake subbing. Why would you think he needs to be a channel with less subs?
Imagine using this in Gorn
Fighting the bezerker trying to say he can't hit you and stands Infront of him
A VR MMA game using this would be awesome.imagine it just puts you into the cage with another vr player, the fights would be hilarious but people who actually know how to fight would be able to destroy the average joe
A cheaper alternative would be to go and pick a fight with a stranger...
@@allahspreadshate6486 it should be a game where you get to choose like different styles maybe
So, we've got VR itself, we're now adding haptic feedback so we can feel what's happening. Now combine this with the omni-directional treadmill, and it's almost like you're in the game.
Well they have the treadmill already, and there is the Perception Neuron system for full body motion including hand and finger movements, team it all up with VR chat and your in a world a lot like Ready Player One, there even an SAO world.
haptic feedback, 360 treadmill, full body tracking, the new hand tracking, and a smell dispenser, near full immersion.
Are they working on a Fleshlight addon?
@@Yoshe-vd2jd holy shit how can I invest thousands, I'm ready to give my life for cyber sex
Thanks Mike. Yet another thorough and enjoyable review of tech. This looks great, plus as you say, the six pack! Please keep us up to date with this

Great Vid Mike! That haptic kit is awesome.. Step by Step till we reach Ready Player One status.

@@savagegriffon7822 we're not getting the nerve gear by 2022 lol. We're still far from that technology.
Ok your Ready player one type intro is kickass!
This haptic feedback suit + omnidirectional treadmill + knuckles controllers = best vr fps experience ever. When all of that is working nicely in the next year or 2... Half Life 3 will come out and have support for it all.
I think this might be an instant purchase if Vivecraft, Rec Room, AltspaceVR, and VRChat, had native support
Edit: and Superhot
The beginning of Ready player 1😂😂
Nice to see these things coming.
Just as much as having full body tracking (looking at you Oculus!)
Glad this was recommended. This looks awesome!
Me :oh cool a suit how much
Developer:oh u know...........around ........ 5ish thousand dollars
how do you not have 1 Million Subs FFS love this guy
You have earned a sub
I wish and I hope everyone to be able to buy and have a Full Haptic Feedback Kit.
Such a big ready player one fan :P
So cool and fairly easy to setup. If only ready player one oasis vr...ready or compatible with the gear.
Can you do a video to see who development is going on the oasis vr game? And what do you help to see improve in RPO oasis?
Oh wow, I can imagine Beat Saber being really cool with the fore-arm rumblers, if properly implemented. You could get extra feedback after hitting a block one or another way, with the vest becoming more of a "rythmic support".
This is what I've been waiting for
Haptic suits are going to be huge for VR.
Hype to see the progress in 2019!
Huh couldnt figure out how to get the audio based (non-native) haptic feedback working
They should have sent you a link to download that separately to the main program. You just run it in the background along with the player. I can send you the link if you need it.
ive been subbed for a while until just a few seconds ago i watched "player one" and now i know why you say in your intro "welcome to the oasis" cause thats what the called what creative
these with the hot and cold sensors and the sensing gloves will be amazing
I have messed around with tactile transducers for a while for sim racing and I also own a Woojer, but in the end, I concluded that the novelty experience of it isn't very useful for actual immersion or gaming. Simply using vibrations isn't enough to immerse me. After a while too, your body stops recognizing the vibrations so it just becomes more of a hassle to me.
Maybe I'm unique in this, but wearable haptic feedback has been a miss for me.
I backed the Woojer Ryg on Kickstarter - it has 8 feedback locations (each of them 3x more powerful than the one on the Strap). And it works in 7.1, so you can feel an explosion off to the left differently than a punch to the gut or a knife in the upper right shoulder. It’s expensive as fuck, $524. But I’m excited about it. In VR, it’ll be more 4L/4R on the PSVR due to the 3D sound, but for movies and shows in 5.1 and even better in 7.1, I’m excited to feel that impact. I’ll probably wear the Strap at the same time. The problem with the Strap is that you’re right, it just rumbles whenever there’s bass, including when people talk. Splitting this up into 8 different locations that fire individually really changes that up. Maybe it’ll be a huge waste of money, maybe it’ll make my liver explode while playing “DOOM”, I dunno. Looking forward to finding out.
(Oh - and it doesn’t require anything to be programmed for it, no app, no PC - it just bases it off the individual channels of the surround mix, so it can work on everything from UA-cam to 4K/HDR blurays with Dolby Atmos cranking)
I think it really all depends on how well it's done. There are tons of games that use haptics via the controllers in VR but only a few that are notable to me. For example using the bow and arrow in The Lab is an amazingly immersive experience. You really do feel like you can feel the tension of the bow and the arrow moving against it. I actually think that when you stop noticing it, that's when it's working correctly. Haptics shouldn't take you out of the experience, it should just be another layer of immersion which when done correctly should reinforce immersion but it should never be distracting.
Things you'll never hear irl:
"Getting shot in the head felt incredible"
@@thelazyhuntress Well not exactly true. A lot of people have survived from a shot to the head
Love your sweater!
I've been waiting for this...
Are you happy UA-cam? I finally watched it
I like the ease of setup, but I'll wait untíl the tech improves - as advised. Thanks Mike!
This is perfect with the treadmill, the finger sensing controllers and the game Boneworks!
Does anyone else remember when devs first started playing around with VR a couple of years back on those Omni-Treadmills?
Specifically the one where they tested VR with Battlefield 3.
Basically they had a VR headset and a multi directional treadmill setup, but the way they implemented getting shot was with paintball guns.
Basically they strapped a shit ton of paintball guns to the walls around you and every time a bullet hit you in game a gun would go off IRL from the same direction and tagged you as many times as it did in game.
Good stuff.
It wasn't a serious thing they were going to release, just a small gag to show how far VR could go.
I think.
But still I'd be up for it.
Especially for those who say their body starts to ignore the vibrations of the body suits they have now.
I think its funny how we are paying to feel like werr getting hit and shot 😂😂
We are literally soooo close to VR like in Ready Player One and honestly I'm here for it.
You deserve more subscriber!!
Oh look! A video title that actually includes the content of the title and the title, unlike others, attracts viewers without the need to clickbait!
Regardless, I loved the video, I can't say this about many, but you described the product clearly without error and told your opinion on it, compared to other products, as well as to include feedback instead of just criticism, great video, I can proudly say I subscribed!
Ready player one here we come!
This is the future of vr it’s insane
I think haptic feedback will help with sensing your surroundings and actually compensate for any limitation in fov; I use touch and periphery alot irl, and I think this haptic feedback is nice.
Me: dude I need one of these!!
*hears that it’s $500*
Me: never mind
what we have all been dreaming off ever since vr came out
for the sound translator they should make it so its only sound levels. like over a certain point of decibel, does it vibrate (i.e. gun shots, the sound of your player jumping down and hitting the ground etc.)
I want to see a video where you use this kit, the haptic gloves I saw in a previous video, and the omnidirectional treadmill thing you may have heard of (I saw it in smartereveryday).
Haptics suits= vrrrr virrrr vuuurrrr vrrrr (but it looks and sounds futuristic and :-0)
I saw a video where someone tested a full glove that tracked every part of the hand and allowed you to feel every bit of movement on or in your hands.

Oh, I know what ERM is. You're literally covering yourself in vibrators.
Me: I don't have a headset but i can't wait to get a cheap one like a quest that doesn't require much.
Virtual Reality Oasis: Has like 10 headsets.
Heineken if ur comparing the quest to the VIVE, just don’t. The VIVE is over priced, the quest is... just use oculus. Ok. VIVE is overpriced, oculus is not cheap.
"I will give your my honest feedback"
pun not intended
OMG just has to be a full body suit along with haptic in gloves too. WE are getting very close to a Holodeck type of gaming
Really cool! Combine this with a VR treadmill and the experience would be perfect. (BTW, would you consider reviewing some VR treadmills?)
I’d love to review some VR treadmills. The Katwalk, Omni and Inifinadeck are the only ones I know of []-)
They need to make a full suit with no hand/foot covers.
I like how the intro is the same as when parzival (forgot his name) is entering the oasis in Ready player one
The oasis is getting closer and closer by the day.. I'm super hyped!
I can just imagine a VR fight club where you can feel the full force of someones punch through VR.
Full haptic kit + index level headset + god tier noise canceling headphones + one of those treadmill things = VR bliss
People are gonna start living in Virtual Reality soon

Yeah.. I´m sure in like 10, 20 years monitor or TV gaming will be a niche, because it sucks ass compared to VR.

Looks pretty great, I hope things have advanced more at this point and they get more native support.
