Despite a massive search operation, Bob's whereabouts remained unknown for over two and a half years, his fate a mystery to both his family and the authorities. His last known locations and activities - a day at the beach, an ATM withdrawal, and a visit to his girlfriend in Orlando, provided scant leads.

Our team, dedicated to solving cold cases, focused their search on a 2012 white Chevy Impala with the license plate number KRZI78 - the vehicle Bob was last seen driving.
Using crucial data, such as Bob's last known cell phone ping near a marshy, woodsy area about 6 miles from his home, our team meticulously searched bodies of water, from Lake Winnemissett to the Halifax River. Despite the daunting task, our goal remained firm: to uncover the truth about Bob's disappearance and bring closure to his concerned community.
Bob's commitment to teaching and his community was unquestionable, having started his teaching career in 1989. His sudden no-show at work on October 26th was entirely out of character, sparking immediate concern and fueling our determination to find him.
This documentary brings you into our search effort in hopes of finding Rober Heikka.
On April 9th, 2023, another search team spotted the roof of a car partially submerged in a small body of water. It was a white Chevy Impala. Dive specialist, Ken Fleming, verified the license plate number, confirming - it was Bob's car.
This momentous discovery led to the recovery of Bob's remains inside the vehicle, providing a bittersweet resolution to the two-and-a-half-year-long mystery. Grateful messages from both Bob's brother, Ken Heikka, and the Port Orange Police Department underscored the importance of dedication and determination to continue the search for Bob where AWP had left off.

Did that cop say '' If someone was in it they're deceased right ? '' No officer, they're probably just asleep.
i think they were more so confirming that this was a vehicle that didn’t newly go under the water. it’s possible someone could be alive if they had an air pocket in the vehicle, though unlikely. the presence of the growth on the car meant it definitely wasn’t a recent crash and that needed further immediate action to attempt to save someone’s life.

To determine if it is a rescue or recovery I suppose, different protocol and teams to be involved.
He was my daughters teacher. He will definitely be missed. All the kids liked him.

I know it's a long shot, but there's a cold case here in Tennessee involving a woman who went missing after she was released from jail. Last seen in a car leaving. Car hasn't been found, and had some shady people around. My friend from highschool is wanting answers for her mom. She went missing nearly 22 years ago when my friend was an infant.
I believe they have a website and email where you can send this - there are also a few other dive and rescue teams who have worked with them that are also really good. Hope this helps!

i saw a glimpse of the satellite picture of halifax. this is my home and it’s devastating to know that this was in my home. god rest his soul i hope he is resting peacefully.
Omg he was my teacher in 6th grade he was doing hybrid classes I was in his online class its crazy seeing this video and I used to live in that area also knowing that I last saw him on Friday before he went missing is also crazy

They need some type of barriers around lakes, rivers and ponds to prevent this type of stuff From Happening! This absolutely is heartbreaking. I can't imagine how scared he was in his final moments😭. May his soul rest in peace now that his body has been found 🙇🏽♀️
Drowning is a quick and surprisingly painless way to go. Once the water gets in your lungs, you pass out pretty soon after.

@@sab4281707 I agree, if it was Alzheimer’s, he wouldn’t be teaching a computer class very successfully at that age. I think he’s definitely in a body of water, but I live near this area… there’s MANY lakes, rivers, ponds… especially between Volusia and Orange counties.

Note on the Lily Pad Pond from layman: if a vehicle goes into the pond, the car will push down any lily pads under it due to the length of the stalk not being long enough to reach from under the car, to the edge of the undercarriage and then to the top. If I'm right, if there were a vehicle in a lily pad pond, you should see a vehicle sized hole in the lily pads and maybe some higher than normal dead lily pads on top of the water from vehicle ripping and breaking stalks as it enters, if at higher speeds. Anyone has anything to add or refute? If my reasoning is wrong, tell me so I can learn if you have the time.

Since yall have now seen so many of these cases. Its really brought awareness to me on how easy this could happen to anyone & to carry something to break glass easily because its obvious these cars are coffins once going into a body of water.
I just had to ask tho as I'm wondering. I have to wonder if I was in this line of work if I'd get nightmares of drowning in a car being trapped inside.
Has any of you had anything like this happen to you since you've actually seen many ppl trapped inside a car underwater !? Any visions in your sleep of the ppl you've seen underwater trapped in a car or nightmares of yourself being trapped this way ?

Excuse my question, I don't want to disrespect anyone, but as an Italian I find all these disappearances in vehicles at the bottom of a river very strange, in Italy such an event is very rare, however in the USA I notice that it happens very often, How come? Obviously because there are many more lakes and rivers but I noticed that on the roads that run alongside a watercourse you almost never have a guardrail to prevent cars from ending up in the water, in our country all the watercourses water near the roads are entirely enclosed by guardrails. Anyway you are great guys!!! What you do honors you!! Maximum respect and greetings from Italy! HI!!
I agree with you that it's very strange, and tragic.
I suppose it has to do with the fact that a American driver's licence is easier to obtain than in Europe, which may lead to more accidents. Also, there are more isolated and poorly-secured places where you can get into an accident without being noticed; whereas, in Europe, they find you immediately if you run off the road.
Also, mental health (insurance) isn't a thing in the US, so there are more suicides. 😞
I don't know, I'm just trying to imagine possibilities. 😢

I use to live in Daytona Beach and I'd go to that River front park many times but that was awhile back...crazy how people are found in places you use to visit... I'd bring my kids and the family would watch the fireworks there 😢

It’s unnecessary, inappropriate and adds more hardship on the families. Whatever you think happened is for your mind only… don’t broadcast your speculation.
