What a deeply insightful point about musical cultural inclusion by Dimash. It's just yet another reason to admire and respect this unworldly talented young man. Thank you for your very thoughtful reflection on this performance. It should be widely shared. Wouldn't it be wonderful if it's music that finally brings us all together as humans. Power and politics have failed us time and time again. They do not speak to the soul. Music does and Dimash is a heaven-sent messenger.

Excellent "reaction," as always. This song, as you pointed out, combines lyrics and interpretation in very unique ways. It was written by Baigali Serkebayev, the guy on the keyboard. The band is A'Studio, the group that originally performed this song in 1998. Batyr Shukenov (who died in 2015) did the vocals. It has been said that Dimash did this song as a tribute to Shukenov (a fellow Kazakh). That would explain this zhoktau-like song (zhoktau = a song of weeping or lamentation, a memorial song done by Kazakhs). The lyrics tell the story of a love that is desolate, nearly without hope....a suitable topic for such a tribute to a fallen person.
Then, there is Dimash's masterful use of gesture, posture, and voice, to bring life to the lyrics, to reinforce each phrase by his actions. Sinful Passion is stunning and ought to be considered one of Dimash's interpretive masterpieces. I could listen to it a hundred times in a day and never tire of it!

Many people criticize Dimash that he does extremes. One thing needs to be understood. So far all Dimash performances are the show cases to introduce himself to the world. This performance was the first ever in front of the wide Russian audience and it was widely televised and it is highly watched TV show in Russia. Until that performance he was not widely known in Russia. Therefore, he combined in one performance all the best he has and threw it to the audience to “awe” them. He succeeded. The same he does now in America. To conquer American audience. After that, he has already made statement: no more music competitions, no more song contests. Thank you for great reaction. my reaction to your reflection is "Belíssimo !" and especially i like your concept of "harmonization". It's pity nobody looks into the content of his songs, there're a lot of things to discuss. For instance, in the case of Sinful Passion, Dimash gives a new birth to an old A-Studio song which is rather typical male song. But his interpretation is unique. As you can hear his hero uses a dozen of voices, some of which female / child ones, all this for the purpose (i think) - to be heared / understood by his Dame. I think this is someting really new for the traditional male-female diplomacy. And I can't hear nothing "Sinful" in that interpretation at all. Nor passion, nor sinful. It seems that Holy Maria is singing of a Heavenly Love. And exactly that happens in the final, it brings the whole scene to the outer Space. Everything is very consistent and completely innovative.

Ho letto da qualche parte che l'intermezzo in cui usa la voce spezzata, sarebbe un frammento di canto che le donne kazake intonavano durante le cerimonie funebri, Dimash lo avrebbe utilizzato come tributo all'autore del brano scomparso...un particolare davvero affascinante e commovente.
La voce di Dimash e' sempre da' brivido trasmette emozioni infinite. Meraviglioso❤

Hai ragione, Dimash inserisce spesso tradizioni musicali del suo paese nei pezzi che interpreta, il suo scopo e' quello di divulgare la cultura kazaka il più possibile nel mondo. Quello che rende Dimash unico e' proprio questo, prima di ogni cosa viene il suo popolo, la sua cultura le sue tradizioni, a lui non interessa il successo fine a se stesso, ma vuole attraverso la musica far conoscere il Kazakistan. Ha studiato molto ed e' aiutato da un talento naturale, e il risultato, mettendo insieme le due cose, e' straordinario.

Это потому, что сейчас у всех на слуху английский, который на 70% состоит из латинских слов. А итальянский напрямую от латыни происходит.
@@Jul-bu9fh, тем более в итальянском чёткая дикция, каждое слово разборчиво произносится и узнаётся с первого раза. Не то, что по английски бубнят и шамкают себе под нос, да ещё для, большей части ютуберов он не родной и каждый говорит со своим акцентом, попробуй разбери.

I'm Russian, if you knew what a beautiful and touching song it is, the girls in the hall melted like butter in a frying pan))) Absolutely clean without an accent. Dimash speaks Russian with a slight Asian accent. Dimash apparently carefully works out the pronunciation in the songs

After hearing him sing Sinful Passion the first time, I can't come down to earth anymore. Now I'm doomed to orbit Dimash World for the rest of my life. That glissando and the run after it blew out my landing gear! I hope he sees me floating by and reaches up to pull me down or I'm lost forever.

We all know his technical side is perfect but his artistic side when it comes to interpretate a song its amazing too. Also about mixing styles and cultures into one song. I love the way he makes the notes just hang in the air just hang and tease us with them he is by far the most extraordinary singer I have heard in my 45 years on this earth. Like listening to a Mozart concerto played by Rachmaninoff pure magic nothing else can compete. Very astute and interesting point about his choosing different styles of vocalization. And those are all choices; it's easy for us to listen and think that it was inevitable that he sang a passage the way he did, when in fact he makes conscious choices about the style of vocalization and ornamentation to apply at each moment.
