The elusive Mr Kurt Barlow is Nosferatu-like in the new one, played by Alexander Ward, not william Sadler, who is constable Parkins Gillespie in the Dauberman movie. A certain Cassidy Neal is playing Nolly Gardner, Gillespie's trusted deputy in the small, sleepy town of Jerusalem's Lot! 🙂✌️
The Mark Petrie character is about 11 or 12 years-old in the book so Jordan Preston Carter is actually closer to the characters actual age in the new movie than lance Kerwin was when he played the role in Hooper's 79 original. Young Jordan was 12 years-old, i think, when he started work in Dauberman's Salem's Lot, wereas lance kerwin was in his late teens in Hooper's original version. But i love the late lance Kerwin's performance, and Dan Byrd also made a pretty good Mark Petrie in Mikael Solomon's 2OO4 adaptation. 🙂✌️
It's definitely going to be interesting to see how this new cast fits in with the characters from the novel. Looking forward to that. Barlow will hopefully be a nice surprise since his appearance has been hidden so far in the promotion. Fingers-crossed. Thanks for supporting the channel! -Bob
I can definitely imagine the three of you as nine year olds watching the David Soul version on TV and cowering under the covers. Just like I did. Great content here guys! Enjoyed it.
Times haven’t changed much since then hahaha. That is hilarious. I’m sure we all reacted the same way to Kurt Barlow back in the day. Thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel. Your comment made my day. -Bob
Yes very true. What I was hoping to point out in this episode was that King’s vampire story was one of the earliest to have a modern twist to the vampire lore with it set in contemporary times. Thanks for supporting the channel. Appreciate it! -Bob
This trailer really got us excited after weeks of shared skepticism. We're feeling pretty good about the look and vibe this trailer provides. Hope it's a fun watch! Thanks so much for supporting the channel! -Bob
Wow, I looked him up and he's been in a ton of stuff! I barely remember him as one of the detectives in Joker. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel! -Bob
Me too. I really think he can make Ben Mears into a great character onscreen. We're hoping to do a review episode on the movie afterwards. Maybe we can circle back on this in the comments later. Thanks for supporting the channel. Appreciate it! -Bob
Thanks for the heads up. I didn’t catch that. Hope it’s a wide release. That would be so cool to see it in theaters. Thanks for supporting the channel! -Bob
Yes, it's going the theatrical route in the UK and Ireland and some European countries from October 11th. The US, strangely, is only getting this highly anticipated movie on Max. Does anyone know why 🤔
No,guys, that song is not in the movie. It's simply being used in the trailer to promote the movie. The actual soundtrack to the movie is by Nathan Barr and Elizabeth Scott. 🙂✌️
OMG right!!! Like why in these modern times does Hollywood feel the need that they can’t stick to a source material and keep things the way they are? Why is there this great big need to please everybody else just to get your dollars to get somebody to watch your movie OK. Like your movie is designed for who it’s designed for if you have a problem you’re not making a dollar value then make something else Keep things the way at least should be as a source material. Mark and Ben being seen as father and son by most outsiders was always a cool thing for me because it was two strangers who had a common purpose of destroying these vampires and later on running from these vampires that why change all that up just for a modern Audience? Everyone could still understand that father son relationship in the face of the trauma that was thank you for taking the time to comment and for watching and listening we here at the fandom outpost truly appreciate it

The 2004 miniseries is actually pretty close to the novel
I still haven't seen it. Maybe this new series will spur my interest even more to compare it with that one. Thanks for supporting the channel! -Bob
Vans in this movie from ( Compliance 2012 ) the dopey drunk guy who gets into legal trouble , I never seen him in anything else . Lol

Stop being PC. No one wants Susan to be the protagonist, or any other character. Only Ben and Mark.
What's wrong buddy, you don't like ladies?
