You have this mixed up with the Ukraine and Stalin, know as the holodomor.
as a dane this is a big overstatement. there was surdenly no famine... there were rations yes, but the danish ocupation was one of the lightest of them all..the danish goverment held power for the first 3 years where we were autonamous. after 3 years the goverment itself stood down. the danish goverments was willing to go very far in its coroperation with the germans. and resitance was small by population, about 1%. and 1 % actively fighting for the germans out of political conviction on the eastern front. 98% just tried to sruvive. so what you are saying is a big overstatement. and i kindly ask you to do your own research.
No one starved in Denmark during the occupation. Certain food items were rationed but others were not. There was more lack of food items in Germany.
Firstly, the proclamations which the Germans threw out over the cities, were not threats with destruction of the cities if Denmark did not surrender. It said that because of England and Churchill, Germany had seen the need to invade Denmark and Norway to protect them from England and that all resistance, against the German army would be useless.
Second, the king did not flee. Yes, there were battles outside the castle, but the king were meeting with the prime minister, the foreign minister, the defense minister, the army chief and his son the crown prince at the castle, where they decided to agree to the German demands.
Up until the end of the war, the king rode his horse through the streets of Copenhagen every morning, in defiance of the German defense forces, and became a symbol of peace and hope for the Danish people.
Also the king chose to wear the David star in sympathy of the prosecuted jews

@@vanjasoskic9454 "constitutional monarchy" son, rings a bell?
The Danish King stayed! He could have gone to England, but chose to stay with his people. The Danes protected their Jewish citizens better than other occupied countries. Very admirable.
Just a small issue with your headline. Denmark was never in a state of war with Germany 1940-45. You are reproducing memes LOL
Denmark has been in a war with germany Germany woke up 4 a clock then attacked denmark Then denmark lost real fast
Denmark played both sides, and even contributed 6000 men into the Waffen SS. Of all the occupied German territories, Denmark faired the best with the least amount of destruction and deaths.
12,000 men actually.
Israel had a Six Day War, and in this case Germany had a Six Hour War.
Christianity castrated the Vikings.
they were doomed anyway . if they chose to resist the teutonics would genocide them like how they did to the baltics . a crusade would hunt every son of odin to the last . vikings were profiting from a period of european weakness but by the 1000s they were clearly losing ground fast to the feudal crusader countries . they actually saved their existence by deciding not to resist . the baltic was almost cleansed of its slav inhabitants by the teutonics during the baltic crusades . at that time the only ones who could really fight toe to toe with the feudals were the muslims and mongols , the vikings were simply outgunned and outnumbered
Problem?
From vikings to conquered in a day.
Oh how the mighty have fallen.
Can you cover the Merovingians and their battles please? God bless
This is actually disturbing
The most exciting part of the war with Danish eyes, must have been the total evacuation of the Jewish community in Denmark.
This was one of the forgotten moments of bravery and sheer will to beat the beast, and we unfortunately lost 197 Jewish Danes to the nazi's, but 98% made it to neutral Sweden.
I guess that offsets the large scale Danish collaboration with the Nazis then does it?
@@charlesmartin1121 that's not exciting. But treason
@charlesmartin1121 most of the 6000 volunteers died, but even more were arrested and put in camps for anti German policy. So what grand sheme are you taking about
My lil brother would want to see this he's interested in anything German and their history
I imagine that this is how the invasion of denmark went
Wehrmacht: surrender, or get annihilated
Danes: oh hi, would you like some tea?
Wow, I need to play Gerda right now
from marauding vikings to pacifists, would be cool to vikings haunting down nazis
All the real Vikings settled in England, Ireland and Iceland.
It sounds more like you are describing the holodomor.
If ur gonna fight win fast I guess
First
First I guess
💛 all your video's mate 👍.
Keep up the amazing and awesome work
This is full of simply wrong facts.
No, the Danish economy did not collapse during the German occupation in World War II. In fact, the Danish economy fared relatively well compared to many other occupied European countries, although it faced certain constraints and challenges.^
Also, during the German occupation of Denmark in World War II, there was no widespread famine, and the Danish population did not experience mass starvation. I have no idea how someone would be this wrong. Even in the 1 concentration camp that was set up in Denmark, there wasnt even a single case of anybody starving to death.
In English this kind of thing is called 'whitewashing' history.
This is what happens when the vikings leave to take over other countries 🤷♂️
Classic denmark
German soldiers were hot .
Haaaa finely something REAL 😁
