The graphics in this are actually better than the cgi they use in space documentaries. They need to start using space engine for the visualization in documentaries.
This remains to be one of the best space engine videos out there. it truly catches the terrifying yet mysterious and attractive aspects of the galaxy. Just love it.
They're not at all the same thing. NMS is a game. SE isn't. NMS has much more coding involved for content such as ships, character development, base building, ship and freighters, flora and fauna on planets, equipment, tools weapons, items, dialogue, and much more. SE scripts mapped planets etc and procedurally generated fill in planets with no flora and fauna detail. It's just needs to worry about that.
It will when the funding of the game reaches 80000$. When it reaches 250000$ it will become a full MMORPG game. You can look it up on the official website.
+Vicious_Guy too common? With the exception of Shores of Hazeron, please name 1 3D procedural space title that has everything I named because I don't think there aren't any. If there are, I think I can say goodbye to my social life. Or what's left of it... :-PAnd don't say Elite Dangerous because there's no building there and hardly any exploration when every system is more or less the same. The new procedural moon addon is nice though, but still no (base) building there. Space Engineers (not to be confused with Space Engine) now has procedural planets but only 2 classes + a moon and there's only 1 system. Not bad, but not quite the game Space Engine could become. While I'm happy with Space Engine as an "open universe simulation exploration", I wouldn't mind if it one day becomes an exploration/building/fighting game. Even the guys who made this must agree. They added a funding thing on their site to eventually turn SE into such a game. But hey, to each his own.
Stunning really. The only reservation I have is the distortion when moving toward or away from objects as rendering engine can't keep up so we get pop up of new textures. It looks as amazing from a stationary position though. If and when it adds atmospheres, weather and vegetation it will be mind blowing - actually it is already and this just one guy. Genius.
Yeah that would be a nice idea to have a game where a whole civilization would evolve dynamically and where you could watch over that process. If it's technically possible to create something now is another question though, since it's going to need a whole lot of computing power for something like that to happen virtually on a computer screen.
i discovered a great way of moving through space smoothly with the interchanging of free mode, space craft mode and aircraft mode. Many have problems with the inertia on approaching a planet or star. First tape down the velocity button and the mouse movement button. On acceleration, now when closing on a planet or star just switch to free mode to decelerate, then interchange smoothly between the different camera modes. Once you master this flight style, the simulation journey flows like a syrup spill.
I would love to see that implemented through flight controls with a natural transition through the various speeds of travel described intuitively through different engine functions.
I've been here in 2014, And I actually miss that part of the year (only that), the 9.6.0 isn't bad, It's really sad that modern computers can't take it anymore.
Paweł Bałasz You know, it really gets my speculative juices flowing to wonder what game developers Oculus has been having back room negotiations with regarding Rift content. You have to imagine there's been tons of talks with many developers that we won't know about for many months until official announcements happen.
Yes a 460 should be able to produce nice detail. What you might need to do is increase the terrain detail by altering a file and also make sure you're on LOD2 by pressing ctrl-f4. On the speacengine forum there's a guide to increase detail if you have the gpu power. 460 might take a 30 secs to minute longer to render but the result will be the same
I truly feel as though I've been on a journey of immense, epic, proportions, and I've just came back down to Earth. This is seriously outstanding. Make another video just like this one and make it for over an hour - pretty please?
I explored this temperate desert with life and it was green and when i landed on it there was plants everywhere and named it Pandora Polythemus cuz it looks like earth
I'm really disappointed with mainstream game developers. Think about it, if an free independent studio can create something of this scale and beauty, why can't producers like EA use this as a template for something. Imagine a real time Spore game with this as the universe. You could have your creatures evolve even when you are away from the computer, and when you reach civilization stage you can join guilds which either defend new players (like a wildlife agency) or try to destroy new players.
Amazing footage, how did you capture the video? Im planning to use space engine for a audiovisual project but dont know how to capture de images or remove the HUD
+Zilmayjaink I used Fraps to capture and there's options in SE to remove the HUD which can also be assigned to keys so you can enable and disable whenever you want
I cant get that high details can you make a tutorial how to increase details. My PC is good and i run LOD 2 and all the settings on high but the details arent like yours. When i land on a planet it looks so terrible even though LOD is on 2.I searched in SpaceEngine forums but i cant find the guide to increase deails please make a tutorial video.Thumbs up so he can see this.:)
Excellent video. I have linked it with me in the distribution of Facebook. This must be withheld from anyone. Hervorragendes Video. Ich habe es bei mir in den Verteiler von Facebook verlinkt. So etwas darf man niemandem vorenthalten.
Yes I figure i need a better CPU since I only have an i5 4690. and to think I just dumped $1000 on a new graphics card already... SE will have to wait i guess :(
I don't know much about Space Engine to do a tutorial Seems hit or miss whether you get detail or not judging by reading forums, and I search a lot before finding interesting land, many are flat plain looking. I use 0.96, I tried 0.97, it doesn't run well and fails to fully generate the planets
Genial :) eh a want fly to but my graphic card is weak and all planet ( beyond solar system ) fall and send me to windows. But planetoids see this beyond solar system to
Because Earth must be modeled as we know what it looks like and not proceduraly generated/ You can get mods for Earth with better resolution texture maps but you will never get anywhere near the definition you can with procedural generation without downloading a texture map that is detailed enough and hence so large that is so large it will take for the rest of your life to get it. If you explore alien worlds you will see the detail in this video.
The graphics in this are actually better than the cgi they use in space documentaries. They need to start using space engine for the visualization in documentaries.
true
fuck yes
Sure
Playing this game makes me realize how minuscule and small we are.
space engine is what no man's sky was supposed to be
This remains to be one of the best space engine videos out there. it truly catches the terrifying yet mysterious and attractive aspects of the galaxy. Just love it.
Soo much better than No Man's Sky!
Larry Ramsey yea so true. and this masterpiece don't get the recognition it deserves.... but no man's shit... life is unfair
As a game, No Man's Sky is vastly superior. As a demonstration of procedural technology and its capabilities, SE blows it out of the water.
They're not at all the same thing. NMS is a game. SE isn't. I'm completely convinced after using this sim that we are not alone. I just wish I was born in a more enlightened era of the human race.
Best Space Engine ever. I hope this will eventually become an ultimate exploration/building/fighting simulator.
It will when the funding of the game reaches 80000$.
When it reaches 250000$ it will become a full MMORPG game.
You can look it up on the official website.
+Vicious_Guy nah, I prefer Space Engine's style. No Mans Sky is a bit too cartoony for me.
+Vicious_Guy too common? With the exception of Shores of Hazeron, please name 1 3D procedural space title that has everything I named because I don't think there aren't any. 6 minutes have past allready? I could watch this for hours!
A bit long also one of the most beautiful things my eyes have ever seen.
Amazing! could you please share what settings you use (lightflares, LOD etc...)
Stunning really. The only reservation I have is the distortion when moving toward or away from objects as rendering engine can't keep up so we get pop up of new textures. It looks as amazing from a stationary position though.

If I didn't already own Space Engine, this video would have convinced me to. ♥

The song playing during the first two minutes is "Wolftribes" by Sephiroth.
Well, in fact no, the music on the 2 first minutes is also Antikatechon - Altaria Expiationis.

5:08 - 5:15: Exceptionally Nice! Especially with that background music.
Well, if we can say that "SpaceEngine" is like a "Ferrari", then we can say for sure that you're a fantastic and spectacular pilot! Great Job! :)
Truly incredible. You highlited the software amazingly.
I've been here in 2014, And I actually miss that part of the year (only that), the 9.6.0 isn't bad, It's really sad that modern computers can't take it anymore.
How do you get such good quality when your close to the planet? Like mountains and snow
This is incredible! It would be even more awesome if experienced through an Oculus Rift!
Word is Space Engine received fund to actually make it work with Oculus :)
Paweł Bałasz You know, it really gets my speculative juices flowing to wonder what game developers Oculus has been having back room negotiations with regarding Rift content.
You have to imagine there's been tons of talks with many developers that we won't know about for many months until official announcements happen.
Chrono this is a masterpiece !
Three words: it Is Beautiful
I need to play this on a physical flight simulator. NOW
Physical flight simulator?
Without a warp drive engine, you'll stay for the rest of your live in our solar system lol.

Simply stunning work, nice!
How can i play this quality?
김미현
Pressing V should enable “realistic mode”
I truly feel as though I've been on a journey of immense, epic, proportions, and I've just came back down to Earth. This is seriously outstanding. Make another video just like this one and make it for over an hour - pretty please?
Thanks very much Aaron. I'll have a go at a longer one for sure. Might wait till the next Space Engine patch is released soon.
Or just download space engine for free (preferably donating toward this guys incredible work and future development) and enjoy it all for yourself.
Amazing Video.
The only bad thing I could say about it, is that it is way too short.
thanks guys
you need to download astroniki's lens flare mod, it's on the SE forum - mods/addons
Give us the god damn information how to get texture-details like this!
increase LOD in the settings to 2
warning, this tanks performance when you get close to bodies
Encroyable.
what a video, excellent.
They should make a documentary about this engine....it's BETTER THAN GOOGLE SKY
truth
I explored this temperate desert with life and it was green and when i landed on it there was plants everywhere and named it Pandora Polythemus cuz it looks like earth
I just thought of something: Is it possible to speed time up so much that the Milky Way and Andromeda collide?
No, it happens in Universe Sandbox. It´s on Steam
Great video!
Amazing video, what a great work congratulations.
how did you get such a high detail of planets ?
+Newbpwng LOD is set to 2
o ok thnx
+ChronoVersatur i have set lod to 2, but i still don't get such detail
I have LOD set to 2, but even then, I could wait for super long and it will still look crappy.
Force0fWi11 i was using 9.7.4 beta at the time, i switched back to 9.7.3 and it got a little better, but not as good as this guy's

This was developed by a single man
Witness the power of PC graphics, folks!
I cant do these, it keeps rapidly loading and stuttering.
Watch this listening "Fade - Heinali"
Jesus man !! epic as hell. i have SE but watching this is way better. but one question, how did you make the sun look like that ? mine is in standard
R.I.P Headphones users
Jesus, how are you getting such detailed terrain?
This is super cool! how long did it take to render each planet?
awesome vid
Yeah I made that comment when I didn't know much about NVIDIA graphics processors.
Amazing
Not long, between 5-30 seconds. I use a GTX 580 1.5GB
Thanks guys.
Thanks man.
Thank you watertower7 i will try that :).
That's weird I have a GT 555m 3.0GB and i cant render anything like that in 10 minutes.
Amazing footage, how did you capture the video? Im planning to use space engine for a audiovisual project but dont know how to capture de images or remove the
HUD
+Zilmayjaink I used Fraps to capture and there's options in SE to remove the HUD which can also be assigned to keys so you can enable and disable whenever you want
GT 555 is a much weaker GPU to the GTX 580. 3gb of ram is just space, you still need processing power.
That was fucking awesome
How do you make yours look that beautiful? I've tried everything but mine still looks like crap. Can someone enlighten me?
roughly 65% less power than a 580, still is quite a good capable GPU though
Excellent video. I have linked it with me in the distribution of Facebook. This must be withheld from anyone.
Hervorragendes Video. Ich habe es bei mir in den Verteiler von Facebook verlinkt. So etwas darf man niemandem vorenthalten.
Were you using any visual modifications, or did you edit the video afterwards?
How is that texture so hi-res on the planet at :50? It's not like that for me...
your computer probably can't support it
Yes I figure i need a better CPU since I only have an i5 4690. and to think I just dumped $1000 on a new graphics card already... SE will have to wait i guess :(
I don't know much about Space Engine to do a tutorial

I use 0.96, I tried 0.97, it doesn't run well and fails to fully generate the planets
Классная программа))) вот это я понимаю)))
How to make a video with Space Engine PLZ ?
Can I use some of this footage for a non commercial video? You will be credited
my trains Yes you can.
Be prepared for an influx of teary-eyed /pol/ browsers.
is it random planet you found? special mod planet?
yer GT is like the beginer model GTX is performance model
I have a GTX 550 ti. Is the processing power weak on this one?
BOI HOW DO YOU GET THOSE GRAPHICS. I've been trying to figure that out lol
GTX 1080ti, lol
What computer do you need to get such graphics man ?
Is it a mod?
wonderfull vide!
WOW
will it run on windows 8
how you get this textures 3:20 ?
I tried this in 9.7.4 and the highest option was 1000 LOD
Could you tell me which planets the footage is from?
Sorry I don't have any locations of the planets in the video.
Как будто снимали на камеру в космосе
Fucking beautiful.Made me jizz.
Genial :) eh a want fly to but my graphic card is weak and all planet ( beyond solar system ) fall and send me to windows. But planetoids see this beyond solar system to
This are fanasi
Why so many creepy noise?
Asyraaf Nasser because that is what space can be like
0-0
Reminds me of No mans sky, god thats some red dead shit that they won't put it on pc
Why I dont have such realistic graphic like you? Even Earth looks very poor. Blurry, unclear pictures of mountains and sea. Why is that?
mods lol
Because Earth must be modeled as we know what it looks like and not proceduraly generated/
You can get mods for Earth with better resolution texture maps but you will never get anywhere near the definition you can with procedural generation without downloading a texture map that is detailed enough and hence so large that is so large it will take for the rest of your life to get it.
If you explore alien worlds you will see the detail in this video.
JOOSEDweekly where i can get this mod
Ungegurkt Its not a mod this is a vid from the game dev using super rendered areas, we will never have this kind of detail
YonOtto i found this on thesite of them;D 128k Textures they are then like this with the whole milk streat
Thumbs up if you hate when people refer to Space Engine as a "game". :/
