- Australians not only do not want China to own Virgin airlines but they do not want Beijing involved "own our assets, our housing our agriculture and our land", according to One Nation leader Pauline Hanson.
As Virgin struggles to remain viable due to travel restrictions put in place due to COVID-19, three Chinese airlines are reportedly in talks to buy out the embattled airline.
Senator Hanson told Sky News domestic industries have "outsourced" key manufacturing industries to China, which is now Australia's largest trading partner.
She said a Chinese airline buying Virgin "would be a nightmare."
"I am not against free trade, I'm for fair trade," Ms Hanson said.
"We have lost our independence in Australia to produce the products we need for our own survival."

With the exception of Brazil, instead of falling under the thumb of the EU, these leaders said a loud "no" to them and that the countries will control their life, not by a group in Brussels who makes demands and fines those who don't listen. The UK Brexit is no way a failure. It's a country working to build itself up for itself, make decisions for itself and make all the good and bad decisions themselves. Nothing good comes quickly, but taking the time to learn from mistakes makes for a strong country and proud people. Poland and Hungary want to make decisions, good or bad for themselves...not done for them. If you're expecting things to be done quickly, or a perfect world you're going to be disappointed. I was in West Germany when the Wall fell in '89...It took years for the one, single Germany to be the strength of power it is today.

They sold out the Australian taxpayer and the Australian workforce and the greedy (and possibly corrupt) members of Parliament gave themselves a big pay rise as usual. If you look at who sits on the "independent tribunal" who decides politician's wage increases, you will see they are all heads of industry who send all the jobs to China and rewarded their political mates with huge wage increases for letting them bugger our country and get everything made in third world sweat shops.

My grandfather fought with the Australians during the second world war and was billeted with a volunteer Australian family during a portion of his time in country. He truly loved that family and corresponded with them until he passed. He stated on many occasions that the Australians were some of the finest people he had known. He did work in over a dozen countries as a civil engineer before he retired. However, he never had the chance to return before he died. Are you that one rotten apple?
