How to Terminate an RG6 F-TYPE Coaxial Compression Connector
Materials Required:
CT-RG596SS: Coaxial Compression Tool (SNS1P6U)
MST-RGA: Coaxial Cable Prep Tool
MST-502: Side Cutter
TMRG-6CONSSU: RG6 F-Type Coaxial Compression Connector
FT4-RG6WH2: RG6 Coaxial Cable
Step 1:
Cut the specified length of RG6 Coaxial Cable (FT4-RG6WH2) and insert ¾" into the Coaxial Cable Prep Tool (MST-RGA). Rotate in one direction 2-3 turns.
Step 2:
The Coaxial Cable will be scored in 2 stages. Remove the 1st stage exposing the Centre Conductor. Remove the 2nd stage exposing the Foam Insulation and Steel Braid. Fold back the Steel Braid towards the Coaxial Cable.
Step 3:
Insert the Coaxial Cable into the RG6 F-Type Coaxial Compression Connector (TMRG-6CONSSU). Ensure the Centre Conductor is kept straight while firmly pushing until the Foam Insulation reaches the edge of the Compression Connector.
Step 4:
Insert the Compression Connector into the cavity of the Coaxial Compression Tool (CT-RG596SS). Squeeze the handles together until the ratchet system unlocks and remove the terminated Compression Connector.
Step 5:
Trim the Centre Conductor using the Side Cutters (MST-502). Inspect to make sure the Compression Connector is firmly secured to the Coaxial Cable.
Step 6:
Repeat steps 1 through 5 to terminate the opposite end to complete the RG6 Coaxial Cable Assembly.

Great video, thanks for making it not unnecessarily long.
Does anyone know how to remove the nut from the coaxial cord. I looked everywhere online, all I found is how to install it I need to know how to remove it
Same
Did you find any solution??
You can't reuse the connectors so you just cut it off.
@@zenmark42 thank you
Great video. Concise and well-explained. Thanks.
OK but how do you do the opposite. I need to take that thing off the cable
yeah me too
You can't, it's fixed on there. You need to grab a wire cutter (or the sharp portion of needlenose pliers) and cut it
Use a pair of scissors to cut the end off.
Quick question. I'm prewiring my house and noticed that if I do not shorten the braid in my RG6 to approximately 4mm, it will extend past the barrel connectors once they are compressed on. Some sites seem to recommend cutting any braid that extends after compressing the connector on but I'm hesitant to take a razor blade to coax. Is it okay to simply cut the RG6 braid to roughly 4mm and compress on as usual or is this likely to cause me signal degradation? Thanks in advance for your reply.
Nice video. How do I do the opposite as in removing the connector temporarily in order for it to fit through the wall?
+hhova29 you don't - cut it off and fit a new one. obv.
@@____________________________.x it doesn't goes that way, removing the rg6 connector from the cable seems impossible
@@GhostSenpaiEdits I didn't say remove it, I said cut it off. This is a compression lock fitting, it's a one time use. There are plenty of the more common removable types. Although drilling a slightly wider hole would seem more useful.
You list the materials required...and you say that the BLUE item is the "Side Cutter".....yet, when you perform the initial cut of the coating, you say that the tool is the "Cable PREP Tool". No biggie, I know what the tools are...but...may want to clarify the discrepancy.
I'd say they were vice versa.
How to remove? 🤔

Why terminate? Your fixing it
Great video. Concise and well-explained. Thanks.
