I like the Monaco Mansion the best! It is so beautiful. Simply Elegant.
I hate it. Hate the way he decorated it. It deserves grander.
The 18th century was such an elegant time!!!
It certainly was!
The design breath and depth of these various homes are a perfect reflection of his creative genius.
Exactly!!! What a mind!
Each single frame was inspiring! Omg this is my favorite side of karl 😮
Right! Incredible
I so want to own and live in the Villa Jacko ❤❤
His hôtel particulier decorated in important Louis XV decorative arts was an extraordinary interior. The world has changed a lot since then and you don't see period interiors like this much today - the trend of interiors of the rich today tends to be much more eclectic with mixes of contemporary objects and fine antiques together.
Funny I commented on this yesterday....super job....The French Louis style is epic......Another of my favs is the Ballet dancer Icon Nureyev's Paris apartment. I found it to be very unique in its textiles.....
Yes!!! Thought it was an excellent idea!! I agree! And thank you, I’ll put it on the list
@@CulturedElegance And dont forget Marella Agnelli her husband was a Rothschilds buddy. He was known for wearing his wrist watch over his drees shirt cuffs...I wear mine the same today since i saw that.
Impeccable taste!
My favorite is 18th Century Parisian hands down.
Me too!!
The Monaco's my favorite
I loved his 9-bedroom Paris apartment on the Left Bank, the best. You missed the home he owned in Vermont. Thank You for this lovely peek into how he lived.
RIP to Karl
Excelent vidio THANKS
Thank you!
I favor the more opulent styles, not the modern interiors. How amazing to have such talent that one can acquire the riches necessary to satisfy one’s desires and fantasies.
I’m normally more into the early 20th century but I really like that 80s house.
So interesting isn’t it!!
I love the variety. He could work in any style and never repeated himself from the 18th century Parisian home to the whimsical home with toylike furnishings.
Yes!!! So true
I'd love to live in that Monaco home
Are you serious? That was the worst on the interiors.
The 80s home was just a bit to childlike . Not for me . Liked the Parisian Louis XVI beautiful furnishings. A little cluttered but elegant wall paneling , carpeting and sumptuous furnishings!! Very Avante Garde!!Also the Monaco home breathtaking views beautiful exterior structure and the French Riviera OhLa La !!! Thanks CE😊⭐️☺️👌🇨🇦🇨🇦
Of course Laura!! Loved reading your comment!! I 100% agree! 🤗💕
Le Mée Country Living is the place I could happily reside in. 👍🏻
7:25 I wonder if those curtains were inspired by Kabuki Za.
Excellent
The images of the Villa La Vigie in Monaco are more recent - this is not how Lagerfeld decorated the house (Lagerfeld would never have lived in such blandly bourgeois surroundings as that). When Lagerfeld lived at the villa he decorated it with Louis XVI and Napoléon III upholstered furniture.
Correct
Great video. You should do Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino and Armani, all of them very multi-home too. ;)
for sure!!! all coming soon!! welcome to the channel
@@CulturedElegance Thank you! Lovely channel ;)
I loved the modern homes more, the last 2 houses
My favorite was the Monaco mansion given to him by Prince Ranier. Great video !
Thank you Bob!!
It's a French Mansion with a Monaco view.
Monaco house is the best. Lovely architecture, beautiful view, I've seen much better opulent interior designs in other mansions.
Would love to see the interiors of Karl's other homes
In the late 70’s I was a fashion major and he was one of my teachers in Paris. Did you know that he collected beds?
Teacher? Where at...
Did he have a special room just for his gloves and sunglasses? 🤔
ty ty
See! This is style! It has voice and emotion, not like the homes of Chanel.
A former model of this man has accused him of predatory sex assault against her, in the backstage room in London.
The doc is availabe here on youtube. "Karl Lagerfeld a survivor's account of sexual abuse in the fashion industry".
She did the accusations before his death, in case someone says she did it when he no longer can defend himself.
Not everything that glitters is gold.
What happened to all his stuff when he died?
He died in 2008 and everything was auioned off . Everything was auctioned all the furnishings , books , paintings every bit of it was auctioned off. There was so much it took 4 or 5 days to do the auction but it brought in a lot of money. He collected way to much stuff.
Only leftovers were auctioned off. The good stuff is gone forever.
He should have applied for architecture school, imagine that!
What for? His favorite architect didn't bother to go to school.
Those houses decorated in modern style look cheap and crappy. Such beautiful exteriors destroyed by bizarre interiors.
That is actually post modern design not modern style. And if you knew anything about it you would understand, but you don't so....
I agree. They look cheap and crappy, and as the narrator said "colorfully gaudy". Rainbows and plastic threw up there. He destroyed the house in Monaco imo.
The 18th century timeless places are ok, the rest isnt that special now anymore.
Gifted Monaco home, who was the real owner, and who owns it now ?
It's not a Monaco home, is located in France. It was gifted by Rainier, apparently. Currently is a rental home for tacky events. Only Rocabella flat is located within Monaco.
What style, he will be missed
He may have been an artistic genius but a thoroughly unpleasant person.
These decorating styles are ugly to me.
The French silverware and bed crowns are so sumptuous! Fantastic
The Louis XV appartement is absolutely stunning in every detail. But you missed his apartment in the Left Bank decorated in a Andrée Putman style, in which he lived from the late 90s till the early 10s.
HOME MINIMALIST STYLE BAUHAUS GERMAN .2023.🇩🇪🤝🇫🇷
They may be worth millions but no not for me 🤭
His hôtel particulier was my favorite. Stunning!
can you do Coco Channel apartment
I would love to!!
it will be released at 5pm on Monday!
Lae Mee is the only home I could imagine sitting down in, in the rest of his homes you could only perch.
Dizzying is the word that comes to mind. Restless is next. I do not know his design work, but I did go to see an exhibition of his dresses next to those of Coco Chanel. There was no comparison. She would have been most annoyed.
