You are truly a railroad enthusiast. It’s obvious. I really admire your willingness to share the products of your talents and insider knowledge of railroading. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement. I’m so thrilled with the way the channel has exploded and how so many people, like yourself, are also finding encouragement and new knowledge through my videos!! 😊
Thank you very much for your kind words and encouragement. I know some people that have no interest would think that I talk too much, but I’m thrilled that you get something out of my discussions! 😊
This is first class model railroading, Eric. Constructing one in 1" scale would be over the top, but I realize you have too much junk in your garage already! Time to clean out the garage and construct shelves for the trains. Maybe better to buy an enclosed trailer, put the shelves in it, lock down the trains and padlock the trailer? I can hear it already" "Honey, I've got this great idea....!"
You are just getting better and better at this. For ideas, a nuclear materials transport wagon or space shuttle solid rock booster transport wagon would look nice.
Thank you so very much for the kind words and encouragement! I certainly appreciate the suggestions, and I promise that there will be some pretty big things in the future happening! 😁
First time to your channel, and very impressed! Retired railroad Carman (41 years worth) and longtime modeler here. It’s so refreshing to see actual model building instead of the plug and play stuff that’s so popular now. Personally, I’d love to see you either put in the description or on the vid, the materials used in these projects. Was that styrene, where did you locate big enough pieces to build this (Evergreen stuff wouldn’t come close!), where did the trucks and couplers come from, paint used etc. You do indeed have a God given talent, and I thank you for sharing it with us! Happy new year!
I am very glad you found my channel as well! Welcome to the community I put together, and I thank you very much for your kind words and your interest! ☺
Thank you very much for your kind words and encouragement. Every positive comment means the world to me, and I will definitely keep the videos coming. 😊
Thank you very much for your encouragement! I’m truly happy with the way that I’ve been able to encourage others, and I’m so privileged to share my journey! 😊
Simply amazing work Eric ! And so much detail. It was actually hard to tell if it was real or not. I'm a Model railroader and an ex-railroader too. I just love trains !! Keep'em coming Eric and I'll keep watching !
Thank you very very much for the kind words! Welcome to the channel, and I will do my very best to keep the content coming, and keep viewers like yourself interested enough to constantly return! ☺
Maybe a tri-level auto rack can be next! You mentioned the SD45. That would be awesome, whether it’s the SD45 or SD45-2. Hopefully painted for Santa Fe.
Super cool video awesome flat car build. I have a John Deere in my town but they don’t deliver harvesters like this that would be cool. The next town over used to to they ripped out the tracks that went to their local John Deere so it’s nice video to see I need to do something like this for my Nscale 👍👊
Thank you very much for your kind words and encouragement. I’m not sure where you live, but I know that many of these combines used to be hauled out of Moline Illinois, but that operation ceased a number of years ago.
Your story about the brakes on the train. We have that with our trucks. With 4 axles on the trailer you can stop in a hurry with an empty truck and trailer!
@@lifedownunder4408 You are correct. Even now that it actually runs under its own power, if there aren’t enough passenger cars in the consist, they will add freight cars to the rear for braking. In addition, they may have extra. axles to activate crossings. However, it is mostly for braking.
With the way my mind works, it has certainly crossed my mind. however, the flat car would be easy, but the combine might be a different story, especially if I had to scratch, build it. even if I don’t do a Combine, I’m sure I will have some kind of a large load to go on a flat car! ☺
Super cool work! What do you think about closing the hopper extensions on the combine? On 1/64 scale stuff I pop them off and replace the opening with a piece of styrene. Not glamorous but gets the job done.
It may have been on one of the 1” scale group pages, but did you do a three pack well cars? If so, any chance of those being featured? Great work, I’ll be watching the next one.
Happy New Year Eric! Just an amazing job! Looks great! That would win a contest. Thanks for making the video. I know it takes time and tell the Mrs we appreciate her support for you. Take your time making videos. We don’t want you to burn out. I farm here in Southern Indiana and do HO model RR’ing. Here is my JD combine train based on the prototype. I have since added 3 combines on 2 flats. I’m an L&N modeler so pardon the NS junk. Haha! Seriously, these were custom done by a dear friend who has since passed so they mean a lot to me. God Bless your dear friend in the nursing home. ua-cam.com/video/tZUDclKCKEg/v-deo.htmlsi=BACJQeELCfxSB8di
Thank you so very very much for your kind words, and thank you for sharing your incredible collection as well! I would love to re-create this same thing in 1 inch scale, but I’d have to see if I could either find a Combine of this size or even figure out how difficult it would be for me to scratch build one! The beautiful thing about my time lately is that I like to call myself semi retired since the extra board that I’m on doesn’t work very much. We get a paid guarantee, so at least time, still making a living while taking advantage of the extra time that I have. However, as I put these videos out, it takes a few more irons out of the fire for me. I actually grew up next-door in West Central, Illinois, but I moved to Nebraska about 20 years ago! The winters may suck in the Midwest, but it’s definitely home! 😁
If that’s the same company, I’m thinking of, they build 1.5 inch scale and not 1”, but they also don’t offer some of the locomotive models that I want. With the skills that I have and the help from friends, it’s easier and cheaper to build my own. 😊

@warbonds Thank you for the reply, Happy New Year to you and your family.🥳
Wow! That combine looks so good that you believe that you could put on the wheels and put it to work! It is that realistic!
Very nice craftsmanship sir.
Thank you very much for the kind words and your encouragement. 😊

Eric, Super awesome, enjoyed the background as well as the build. Looking forward to seeing other builds regardless of scale. 🙂
This is ridiculously good. Glad you're excited about it. I'm loving these builds.
Thank you very much for your kind words and encouragement. Every positive comment means the world to me, and I will definitely keep the videos coming. 😊
Very well done! Love how the build ties into your childhood and your work experience too. 😊

I am impressed with your work looking forward to more videos.

I’m a sucker for a good looking SD40-2, myself, especially in AT&SF red/silver warbonnet paint, or Conrail blue.

Fantastic work Eric. Thanks for sharing your build.
Wow! That is some high quality work! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome work my friend. I can't wait to see it in person this year!
Awesome! Where did you getting the trucks? I always struggle to get modern trucks
I am in awe of your workmanship on this car and its load. Thank you for sharing with us. Happy New Year!
Thank you so very much for the kind words, and happy new year to you as well, my friend! ☺
OUTSTANDING!!!
Thank you so very much for your kind words!
outstanding build!
Thank you very much for the kind words! I have been a subscriber to your channel for awhile and admire what you do as well! ☺

Your story about the brakes on the train. We have that with our trucks. With 4 axles on the trailer you can stop in a hurry with an empty truck and trailer!
Good brakes definitely make a difference when it comes to stopping heavy equipment on a dime! 😁
@@warbonds As I recall the moved 4014 with a load of empty flat cars?
was that for additional braking?

That's really cool. Its inspired me to do something similar in HO Scale
Looks great, thanks. 👍👍
On the contrary, thank YOU for your kind words and interest in my channel! 😁
Are you going to make this combine model in your 1in scale? Great work

Nice flat car with John deere cobine Dakin would like it
Great build! Where do you source your hardware for trucks, wheels and couplers? Thanks!
Great work thanks 😊
