Had to re-upload this since there were a few mistakes in the last one. (Forgot to include about Fury, Anni and Rage and Locked and Loaded Tactical, which is BiS for Marksman and has Alacrity on it, meaning you cannot go 0 alac). Thanks to the viewers who pointed those out!
Still come back to this vid for help thank you 😄
Glad to hear that! Wanted to make an update of this but most of the classes are still the same
What do you advice for commando (AS, Gunnery, Medic)?
Medic: Same as Bodyguard Mercenary. 2200 alacrity, 0 accuracy, 5000+ crit
AS, Gunnery: 1100 accuracy, 2200 alacrity, 4000+ crit
still works for 7.4? thx for the great video!
Thanks! Yeah still works. Only now you have a bit more stats that you can put into crit
Has there been any changes for the stats in 7.3 or is this video still golden ?
I still use the same stats and works just fine. The only thing I was not sure is Marksman. I tried 5% accuracy vs 10% and tbh I still prefer 10% with everyone playing sorc and tanks.
@@ivano1337 Cheers man!
I have seen some vengeance juggs and anni maras playing with 0 alacricity at all, do you think its viable and just personal preference or doing 0 alacricity makes spec worse?
It's definitely viable to go 0 alacrity. Especially if the fights are short (e.g. arenas), alac will be less beneficial overall. If the fight is over quickly, it does not matter that your explosive fuel has 5 seconds less cooldown because either way you will only get to use it once. And: you might not even an additional global from the 7,15% alacrity. However, for longer fights (wzs/pve), not running alacrity will lower your overall dps in most cases.
Just release a guide on Vengeance, if you want to check it out: ua-cam.com/video/4pTwFrHMdUQ/v-deo.html
You lose 2 power by going 336 vs 332.
min-maxing like a pro!
@@ivano1337 check if barrel and hilts are giving any gain. I never did because thats such an old min max. Since weapon damage gets based on it. Could actually help even if no stat gain.
Swapped a 332 Thyrsian mainhand into my 336 set. Weapon damage stays exactly the same (7985 - 9420) and I lose 1(!) crit for no added gains.
@@ivano1337 ok good most things are solved then.
I'm quite late here but it's worth pointing out because a noob linked this video in theorycrafters to ask. For lightning, it was already better to run 1.3 GCD in 7.0 when you had 0 augments (so 2000 or so less crit than we have now). The further we get into the expansion, the more this becomes true because you have WAY too much crit with 566 alacrity and it goes far into diminishing returns. Use 3600 alacrity. It will not only give you more damage, but more importantly, faster casts and faster cooldowns. That means stuns, polarity shift, recklessness, knockback, your thundering blast/chain lightning roots and slows, and the lightning bolts that give you damage reduction. None of these effects have shorter durations with these faster cooldowns, either. Plus, with 3600 alacrity you can fit 3 abilities into a stun window without needing polarity shift (think: thundering blast, crushing darkness, halted offensive), and with 566 alacrity you cannot. Even PVEers who don't benefit from any of these utility bonuses use 3600 alacrity purely for the damage benefit. In PVP it's not even debatable, it's just better.
Interesting, thanks for the comment! (I have to update this video at some point).
I've tried the high alacrity and I came to the opposite conclusion. Build is fun to play but single target dps still sucks. Sure, you get some more gcds off if the fight is long enough, but most people don't use their stun or even polarity on cd anyway to make use of it.
Imo, lightning is best with elemental convection in aoe zergfests. For those, I like going full crit because it synergizes with the Convection and Storm brewing passives. 30% crit multiplier on Force Storm spam goes brrrrrrrrrr ⚡ ⚡ ⚡
@@ivano1337 The way I interpret it is that there are basically two ways to play the spec. One is to play single target with eyrin's haste, thundering blast root, and halted offensive, and essentially go around dueling people at key points of the map. The other is to search for stacks and damage farm AOE. For the first, you'll enjoy the shorter cooldowns on all your utilities. For the second, you'll enjoy the shorter cooldown and cast time on chain lightning (since you'll be hardcasting chain lightning to get 3 per rotation and you don't want to sit there for 2.5 whole seconds while people run around and potentially line of sight you accidentally, etc.) The one extra ability per 15 seconds is really more of a dummy parsing benefit, the real reason it does more damage is that the damage becomes much harder to avoid. If nobody is moving like a headless chicken or interrupting then you could benefit from the high crit, but in that situation it's likely to be a dummy parse fight and you'd get the extra ability per 15 seconds in with the high alac anyway haha. Plus there's the added benefit of higher uptime on chain lightning slow, which will keep your targets from de-stacking so much.
If you last tested it early in the expansion it may have been much closer than it is now, but since currently you have enough stats to run high alacrity AND crit near the soft cap (about 4.5k), it's really hard to beat critting hard (80k TBs) AND often (every 6 seconds).
Thanks for the detailed answer @@natalyyh. I tested it when they buffed it in 7.3 and I was not impressed with the single target. But yeah for PVE and probably the Eyrin's Haste build in arenas or I can see it. For 8v8, we almost always play Lightning as an aoe zerg class and have had the best results with running full crit 1,4 GCD.
Coming back after 10 years. I specced into lightening for alacrity passives, but I geared into healer for pvp. I had handicapped myself with the lvl 50 cap in 2012, but I did well in raids also. Pvp was just for fun, and I could heal through most melee 1v1. Bounty Hunters could dps through. I cannot wait to see if the pvp gear I was wearing in 2012 and my experiment works. It's like opening a time capsule! 😂😅
WB! Super cool I wish I kept more of my pvp gear from back then
deception when you hit the 3700 critical in pvp..is mastery better option? or keep stack critical?
I had a chat with Kiddo (best Deception player in the game imo) and he prefers to go mastery once he reaches 3800 crit for slightly bigger crits during shadowcraft window. Overall, the difference is small. If you only going to buy one set of gold augs, I would go with more crit for sure. Some classes will benefit from it.
I went 4000 crit and 3480 Alacrity on my Concealment. Is that too much Alc?
Yes, 2200 alac is enough
what about power / versatile augments? do sorcs benefit from this? i noticed this was left out. returning player here and if i remember correctly this is what we used to stack because it increased overall damage the most.
It's certainly not bad, some people do it. But based on my testing on a couple difference classes, the difference in dps is tiny. (i.e. could be simply rng/crit luck).
So imo, it's not worth it considering you would need to buy different augment sets if you want to play more than one class and swap them around since some classes "optimally" need more crit then others.
@@ivano1337 thanks for the reply and your guides have been very helpful.
Quick question what about the DR on Crit isn't it around 36.5%? Anyone over 4k will feel it.
If you want to know the maths behind it, I would recommend reading this: de.scribd.com/document/370568213/crit-DR
For practical use, the difference between 5k crit and 4k crit + extra mastery is quite small. Based on my own testing, I seem to be performing best with 4.5-4.8k crit, so that's what I run when the spec does need accuracy (e.g. AP PT) I would not recommend going as high as 7k crit though.
@@ivano1337 Ty Ty, I love the math even tho i cant do it lol, but i do understand it basically. I built a PvP set and thankfully am right up at 4.1 with a ton of alacrity. So trying to balance Vigilance.
More crits - more fun! This is the way
@@ivano1337 LMAO alright give it a shot!
I am curious. Have you tested running that much accuracy on marksmanship? Isn’t it a bit useless since you won’t kinda miss in PvP anyways if enemy’s doesn’t use deffs?
So you can run like 3.7k crit and but the rest in mastery etc.
With the amount of sorcs / predation / tanks in the current game, you will miss 10% of your damage as marksman if you don't run accuracy since everything is ranged damage.
Ofc you can optimize for burst instead of dps and run crit/mastery. Depends what you want to do really
You guys know why the alacrity is so low for marksman?
@@raulaguirre883 well you kinda can’t run 1.3 Gcd at all because you don’t have BiS Gear.
@@winteriscold8239 I meant in his stat sheet it shows alacrity at like 500 n something for marksman. Sorry I just came back to the game after almost a decade away, can u really get away with that vs the ref 7.15%?
thx for the info, so useful
Glad it was helpful!
