Dart makes this block along with iron heads and a stroker crank. It would be nice to see someone come out with better heads, more options than raylar would be nice.
1988toyota I see shitloads in generators. They used em all thru the 2000s in quite a few different manufacturers gen sets. Fast forward to now , and they turbo a 350 chev to replace the 8.1 for up to a 100kw gen.
Mine is about to roll over too 300,000. I did have a problem with lifters about 50,000 miles ago. So I replaced the lifters with some aftermarket ones and I replaced the push rods with 1 piece push rods. A buddy of mine finally spun a bearing in his at 530,000 miles.
I own a 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD that has to 8.1 496 big block with 153493 miles .. this is one badass truck with a badass motor. I will never change anything about it it's got the power I want the pulling power to tell him shower I couldn't ask for a better truck and I only paid $1,200 for the truck.
It seems the legendary Chevrolet 632 is reborn. Let me break it down. The siamese version supports up to 4.6" bore. Raylabs has a 4.75" stroker kit. Combine these 2 together and according to my math you get a 631.52" engine. Same bore and stroke as old school 632" BBC. This will be the new age 632" BBC. Throw a supercharger or some turbos on and look out world. Hell, make it a superturbo.
Be insane torque right off throttle however the RPMs would have to be low (not that ,thats a real issue) be around 4k maybe redline probably at that kind of bore/stroke combo.
Built heavily enough with all forged internals a forged balancer on the front, extra heavy duty fly weel. Bring tourq up then put 1 or 2 throttle bodies or 2 small ( very) small 4 barrels. This engine made from high quality casting could out do a 7.4 . Almost put it on road Tractor. I'm going for this engine on my haul truck. So is a split rear end. I hear good time can be made in fly over America. Trasport. Just for myself. 😁
@@walliehart2055 If you’re looking to get fuel mileage, make a custom intake manifold adapter and install a quality lawnmower carburetor. The main thing would be to increase the jet size and reduced the fuel pressure, also probably have to make some custom linkage
It's been brought back in 2003-04.....lol just kidding the modern ones are not real Hemis since their heads are flatter. I take both the modern hemi and LS over the modular.

Considering my 8.1 has 460xxx miles on it, I'd say they got it right from the start.

Shit, its hardly broken in yet. I absolutely love my 01 2500hd with the 8.1 and Allison transmission.
Should single turbo 8 psi kit over 800 torque reliably

I've been waiting to see an aftermarket for this engine.
I ha e been wanting to get an 8.1 to put in my truck for a long time now
Still a 4.84" bore spacing?
Yeah, make the background music louder.
😆
8.1 turbo......... Sold.
Alright we have the block now where the hell are the other Components. Cams heads lifters pistons ect!!!!
Joe Duty raylar
kinda stupid video...........they keep showing cyl heads!
Not showing any real details of the block
Bring back the Hemi & you'll have my respect!
