- Kobe Bryant scored 65 points and only used 1 dribble move, a crossover, 3 times. So how did Kobe score without dribble moves? Let's break it down.

more kobe breakdowns please. he really simplifies the game of basketball at another level. why use all these fancy dribble moves when all you need is a good jab, seeing if the defender drops down, and a jumper.
If you're 6'6 then sure. If you're a smaller guy like Kyrie or Steph you'll be hard pressed to get away with just one or two dribbles like Kobe
@@muhammadputera6593no bro kyrie uses jab steps and triple threat
@@muhammadputera6593Allen Iverson didn't have to dribble the air out of the ball.
@@muhammadputera6593steph is 1 inch shorter than kobe
@@Hollowaterrbro kobe is 6’6 and curry 6’2😂😂
Most people can't do those moves Kobe used to score, we can talk like it's easy but when you are getting guarded by elite basketball players it's will be tough to get those shots off. That just shows how great Kobe was
Simplification is a good thing until you leave out something important. Kobe's ability to keep his dribble alive under pressure, to squeeze through the tightest openings, to shoot off balance while moving away from the hoop, is what turned a great performance into an all time great performance.
It wasn't all jab steps and smart timing.
@terrancevanliew1814 yeah the ability to just keep the ball in your hand while defenders are bumping, slapping, clawing at you, some elbows and knees get thrown in there. And his ability to make the shot when it seems impossible to aim from where and how he shoots was crazy.
& kobe made everything look so effortless, he never needed to use his speed for anything,, just pure skill & will
I was actually in the building with my wife to be (I didn't know that at the time) and it was electric!!! Thanks for breaking down one of the best games by one of the best players. KOBE = GOAT
a perfect guy to disect as a guy who got points, and assist with minimal dribbles and time of possession is bird. The guy legit NEVER held the ball for more than 3seconds or dribbled more than 3 times per possession to average 24 and 6. Btw i find kobe's off ball game to be his most underrated skill. People thought he was just an iso scorer. He can play in a team offense
Have you watched 'thinking basketball'? His video on Kobe breaks this down and really gives you an even greater appreciation for his game.
In my opinion that’s why he’s the greatest ever he was so effective with 2 dribbles max literally unguardable and decisive
a lot of ppl say kobe's flashy but he was just as fundamentally sound as he was flashy. really was a beauty to watch him make it look easy and hard at the same time
KOBE GOAT
LOL yo he sabotaged a massive franchise for 28 years.
Triple threat position should be one of the first things kids should learn, it's such a valuable weapon. Great breakdown!
really really good video, us young players need more of these breakdowns because we actually learn the game from different perspective.
I love u this is the nba detail I wished kobe did on himself ur so fye for this
More Kobe Bryant breakdowns and btw IMA say this out of everyone in the world u have the best study films in the world thank u you improve my basketball iq so so much thank u for everything u do😊
W patt upload
4:52 that's not a give and go; that's a "blind pig" from the triangle offense;
If the scorer is denied, have someone flash up in between the ballhandler and scorer for a pass, scorer then cuts backdoor and gets the 2nd pass.
he learned this watching MJ and Bird. great. that's why this gen with the "bag" and the "skills". really all these players are doing are OVER DRIBBLING and taking crazy long 3s. Didnt Clay also score over 60 barely holding onto the ball? THAT is how you play. ball movement, player movement. Good Job Kobe!
Good breakdown. That shot over Aldridge in the corner was just disrespectful.
And Gilbert was out here talking about counters lol
Gilbert be capping
Gilbert is too busy pushing that Klutch sports narrative to keep it real
It was true guys. If anything it was a compliment to Kobe's skill.
Dude literally airballed in this game. Imagine how you guys would have attacked Lebron if he had done the same in a video?
Plz try to be less biased and just enjoy and observe the game of basketball. Stop with the narratives
🔥 breakdown
Man, this was an amazing breakdown. Just subbed to your channel. Keep content like this coming. Sure I'm gonna find many more useful videos in the future. Stay safe.
Great breakdown!
That's what EFFICIENT is! Kobe the best ever with Jordan
Another great video
Thank you 🔥
U need to break down d roses 50 point game 🌹
So… Kobe’s great(he is great) for simplifying the game using a couple of moves to score? I just heard mccants say Kobe is better than mj because Kobe has counter moves on top of Counter moves to get by more than just his defender. This video is breaking down how Kobe used less moves efficiently, which is what mj did his whole career! So how is Kobe better than mj?
Hey coach! i love your vids man❤ keep it up!
quick question: what software donu use for ur vids cause it looks 🤩
once you have a solid jumpshoot all you need is triplethreat this is why I like 90's basketball with Jordan and I'm 25 years old also a good first step is great too
This is how I play on 2k. No unnecessary dribbles just buckets.
hey patt could you do more videos about prime steve nash , i m trying to learn from him
Pattdor can you breakdown a Gilbert arenas vs laker 60 point game or Gilbert arenas vs suns 54 point game
Nah you went crazy on this breakdown!!
i legit thought he scored 65 only dribbling once the entire game from that thumbnail 😁
6:46 you missed a tween the legs that kobe used so thats 4 but still very impressive, GOAT
maybe you can make the rest of the screen a little bit less dark so it’s easier to see, just a tip
What’s funny about the PNR portion, after the second time passing to teammates didn’t work, Kobe just said f it and does it himself.
🤌🏾 Loving the video, great work as always. Could you also do Kobe 61 game in MSG.🙏🏾💯
YeZZZIIIIIRRR
6:44 leave it to Kobe to force that shot even when double-teamed. He should have passed to the open Odom.
They're trying to tell me LeBron is better than this guy LMAO

Came here to learn from one of the greatest payers of all time, and I see a comment about Lebron. Rent free
I mean hes not just better hes clear of kobe
LeBron, Steph and maybe KD are better
nice video bro
Great one
did they lose that game? The score was tight even with Kobe scoring 65 or what have you.
great analysis. I like seeing the somatics and game of inches where he (and other elites) takes advantage of what the defense is giving him vs forcing it | over-functioning. Might be really good for young players to see.
LBJ COULDN'T HOLD KOBE JOCKSTRAP
Bro stop i love kobe too but he's not better than bron
What Lebron has to do with this video?
@@BucketsCulturegive Kobe lebron’s physique and athleticism and he’s getting 10 rings
@@Don-qf4hy kobe was athletic
Ime is getting lit up
Forget smush parker 😂😂
look at how many Shots he took though😂
wow
Good breakdown but ... I wish you would take as much time to learn more about teamplay and passing 😎
dude don't start a video saying theres 4 dribble moves and expect to be taken seriously by anyone that actually know the sport
gyaattttttttttt
that's pretty cool
In modern basketball, all of those long 2s are considered bad (low efficiency) shots.
Thank you for a good explanation on how Kobe kept it simple in many of those plays, and the important of not dribbling if unnecessary.
That being said... It seems to me many of those shots were bad shot selections, in the sense that some were heavily contested. And I think Kobe may have abused of those too much during his career.
No doubt he was a great score, but at what cost? How much volume he had to put to score 30 plus? What was his efficiency overall and, on insight, is better for a team to have a player that takes so many shots, instead of distributing the score among players who make less points, but at a higher efficiency ratio?
I take the players in this video may not be the best example
Just some thoughts
The thing about a low defender not being able to contest a shot is bs in my opinion. As a defender you should always try to get low and it being low means you can just jump higher for the contest as you have greater potential energy
Still a very good video though
Klay would've been a better example. No shade to the black mamba
Masterfull basketball... most skilled player EVER. He could easy dribble 300-400 times to showoff, Harden or Kyrie style, but that is not real skill, real skill is what he is doing here, what MJ use to do... break them all, with 1-2 dribbles, or better yet... no dribble at all... that is highest level of skill. Fact that he only used 3 crossovers in all this is nuts 👍
Not his game. You can make Gobert look elite. Good job kid.
A spin move is a dribble move
The thing about Kobe, is you know he's not going to pass. It's drive or shoot. That's it. Double threat.
Extreme casual take...
As a Laker's fan, watching Kobe lose a billion games for 24 pts night was painful. You ain't a real baller if you think different. Check the wins b
Garcia Ruth Anderson Scott Anderson Frank
It say 1 dribble on the thumbnail g 😂
Offensively skill wise I think Tmac was better
How anyone thinks Bron is better is very odd to me
id say klays 60 is more "simplistic"
This is real basketball not STAT PADDING
less is more
Kobe’s game is basic, most people just can’t play for themselves they have to be coached or copy new players
CLICKBAITTTT in the first clip alone he dribbles more than 3 times lol
That was great but klays 60 in 3 quarters with 12 dribbled or whatever is probably the most simple 60
