Now I recognize the tune - didn't know the title nor artist. In theme, and in a way vocals (the only track this guy is on) there was a one-album project called Temple of the Dog - various musicians. The hit was "Hunger Strike" Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder. is rather a companion piece. Both similar and different, if you know what I mean!
Just a quick question guys. If I use PayPal to send a donation so that you can play a song will PayPal convert the dollars into pounds? Or do I need to specifically have it converted to pounds? I would be sending money from the states.
Ian Moss on guitar and lead vocals at the start. SUCH an underrated part of the band... everyone was all about Jimmy Barnes, and rightly so, but Mossy is fantastically talented in his own right!

Very strong performance. This is the first time I've ever heard of this group and this song, but I did like how he sang. I like all the feeling that he put into it. Thanks for sharing.
Cold Chisel are the heart of Australia's music, they're absolutely huge over here, royalty. Check out more of their music on UA-cam, I could suggest some but I'd be here all night 😆 you'll love their music
Steve Prestwich their original drummer was born and bred in Liverpool UK. He sadly passed away in 2011 at age 56. Steve wrote this song himself and another of many of the band's hits, Forever Now
Cold Chisel, Australia's gem. I absolutely love this band, have grown up listening to them my entire life. Jimmy Barnes (the front man) is an amazing performer & Ian Moss (guy on guitar) is just as fantastic. This is one of my favourite songs of Chisel's and it's awesome to watch you guys enjoying them so much as well
Ahh Cold Chisel! Probably Australia's biggest rock band of the 70's and early 80's. They broke up in 1983. From 2003 onwards they've gotten back together for gigs. Most recently attended end of last year for a tour and an album. They're are as good as they ever were! It's also worth checking out Jimmy Barnes' (that guy) solo stuff! Wow i cant believe 2 lads from Merseyside did a reaction to a Cold Chisel song and i've only just seen it nearly 2 years later. My fav band and a beautiful song as well. The guy singing in the background is actually the lead singer Jimmy Barnes. On this song the vocal is shared between Jimmy and the guitarist Ian Moss. These guys are iconic in Australia but ask most people in the UK if they have heard of "Cold Chisel" and you wouldn't get many takers. Only Aussies living in the UK and some UK people like me who discovered "Chisel" in about 1988. Shame they never made onto a global stage because they were/are a fookin great band. Nice one.

Great band, great song. Cold Chisel were huge in Australia. They started in 1974 playing on the back of flatbed trucks and the rough-as-guts pub scene throughout Australia for very little $$. They finished up in 1983 after producing 5 studio albums and sell out tours. They'd had enough of the touring (and each other by all accounts). Jimmy Barnes since went on to be Australia's most successful recording artist having had a string of number 1 albums but wasn't quite able to crack the US market. Cold Chisel have since reformed and tour occasionally after realeasing 4 (?) studio albums and sell out tours over the past 20 years. They're bigger now in Australia than they were back in their heyday.
Goddam, but Cold Chisel is the best Aussie Rock band ever. AC/DC and INXS are probably the most famous and are brilliant, but Chisel... are the GOAT! Soundtrack to my life. Gotta listen to “Khe Sanh” or “Bow River” and so many more. Then there’s Jimmy Barnes’ solo stuff (that’s the lead singer) “Working Class Man”, “No Second Prize” and the list could go on and on. But please check them out. Both live and official video clips are good - but they were renowned for their live performances (they were feckin’ wild as and often destroyed the stage in booze driven crazes, but gave a HELL of a performance EVERY TIME!) have fun down that rabbit hole!
Yeah good call mate! Cold Chisel are OZ classics, so many tracks worth a mention. JB solo stuff had some magic in it too. All those you mentioned, also freight train heart had some great tracks. I love the last frontier., driving wheels, wanted get started with you etc etc.

Other classics of theirs: Flame Trees, Khe Sahn, Cheap Wine, Saturday Night, Choir Girl, Forever Now and My Baby. 😊 Also, singers Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss have great records, including: Jimmy Barnes's Working Class Man and Ian Moss's Tucker's Daughter.
Steve Prestwich wrote this song. I saw him with Chisel in one of if not the last performance with Cold Chisel at the Deni Ute Muster. I will never forget it. Class
A reaction is just that. When you've grown up with this song and hold's a personal connection from your youth that's when it becomes something else, something unique, something beautiful, something decades later one will understand.
I saw them in Canberra when I was 14 or 15 (about 9 years ago) And they chose not to have any drums in this song to pay respect to Steve Prestwich who wrote this song. It was absolutely beautiful and the emblem for the night was two drumsticks behind a heart, similar to the classic arrow heart tattoo. Amazing performance, people literally jumped over the bollards to get closer, it was sick.
In order to understand the origins of this song, and the the origins of Jimmy Barnes (Lead Singer), you need to watch Working Class Boy. A lot of Cold Chisels songs are based on his life in some ways. Worth checking out
Do you know that Barnsey (Jimmy Barnes, one of our most loved musos) was the lead singer/frontman almost all the time, and Ian Moss (doing some lead here) used to do perfect backing, but sometimes this happened, they switched places and still killed it. Love the lack of ego, also Barney was cool with Farnsey (John Farnham, another of our biggest singers) doing it, and even sang it with him!
Check out the same song sung by Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham. If you like this version, you’ll love the Barnsey and Farnsey version. Might be found under Little River Band. Barnsey and Farnsey together will make your hair stand on end. They are incredible together.
