I tried QP and returned it partially per discomfort/maneuvering off/on head, and ordered Q3 primarily per XR & depth sensor. Placing non-adsense midway to interrupt video really kills the flow and I skip past, whereas gladly watch all of video of placed at very front/back/both.
@@VRelity I got it for $1,000. Do I regret it? Yes and no. I wish I would have waited and got most of the features Quest Pro has for half off (Quest 3). Quest 3 being even more powerful makes it worse. Yes, Quest Pro has eye tracking, but I don’t have a single game that supports that (and there’s like 2-3 that exist). Developers aren’t going to target Quest Pro when they get more raw power from Quest 3 for less effort. The dream of enhanced graphics and performance with eye-tracked foveated rendering died when the Quest 3 launched without it. To make matters worse, you can’t get ETFR working on PCVR without a specific GPU and extra software that, again, works on a handful of games if at all. The only benefit to Quest Pro is the open-air design, which is nice for interacting with others while using the headset. But I imagine a custom face plate on Quest 3 can get close enough to that experience. I realize the Quest Pro was meant for “professionals”, but who the hell works with a headset on for 8 hours a day? It was a gaming device, whether they like it or not, and it’s going to go depressingly underutilized now. It’s a very nice headset- it really is. But it’s not going to get the attention it deserves because it was cannibalized with the Quest 3. Here’s a comparison- the Nokia Lumia 950XL. It was a beautiful OLED screen with a camera that couldn’t be beat. To this day, many years later, it’s still one of the best cameras in any phone, even without modern features. Yet, it was held back because it was a Windows Phone. I loved it, but apps were way too hard to come by and the entire platform died. The Quest Pro’s ETFR is like a great camera on a bad phone platform- it’s wonderful, but it’s not going to get used, and then it will be completely forgotten.
Quest Pro actually has features that I want to be more expressive towards viewers and I originally was thinking HTC Vive would be the best choice for this but decided to wait and save up while life kept hitting me with bills but I see It's finally paid off and now still trying to figure out what I want because I still want Meta quest 3 for gaming but I also want Pro for VRCHAT or more to be more expressive.
It was marketed towards developers and prosumers, Eyetracking and face tracking really didn't take off with software developer so it was dropped. If you really want that feature for vrchat or whatever its not hard to build trackers for those functions. It's just a few ESP32 cams and some 10mw IR leds
Personally for me, Quest Pro is better for PC VR and Quest 3 for standalone. It depends whats important to you. I'm a PC VR enthusiast and the 2 QLED backlit panels in the Quest Pro with higher pixel density and local dimming for me is better compared to a dual panel LCD display on the Q3, regardless if the resolution is higher. Although I am sure the PC VR experience on the Q3 is absolutely a huge upgrade over the Quest 2. Buy what is right for you. I am one of the few that finds the Pro more comfortable as well so that helps! I have owned every single Quest to date and had a total of 8 different VR headsets. You choose whats right for you! :-)
@@brucerain2106 That doesn't always equal better visuals. Pixel density, two separate QLED backlit panels in the Quest pro Vs the one LCD panel on the Q3, local dimming for way better blacks and contrast and the icing on the cake using OpenXR Toolkit enables foveated eye rendering in many titles on the Pro. So yep, Pro is better for PCVR, Q3 better for AR and standalone.
Quest Pro is super uncomfortable without a top strap. Quest 3 basically requires an elite strap or aftermarket version to add a battery and improve comfort.
I’ve owned from week 1 and can’t agree. Very comfortable and if you have issues just put over the ear headphones on and it will alleviate most of the weight evenly.
I own both headsets and Quest 3 > Pro. Yet Pro battery life vastly superior as well as controllers and least we not forget out of the box it comes with wirless charging and a primemum build quality. The passthrough on the quest 3 gives it the edge and is about 2-3x more clear. @@VRelity
@@VRelity I have both. Comfort does have some variance, but generally I've seen a lot of people complain about the forehead pressure of the Quest Pro, and I feel a top strap fixes it. Quest 3 was super uncomfortable for me, and I've seen many comments about how bad it is with the soft strap it ships with, just like Quest 2, which is unsurprising since it weighs more and isn't smaller when you consider the facial interface. Again the elite strap helps a lot for Quest 3. Aftermarket ones will probably be even better.
Let's do a simple math: 1. A cheaper version of Quest 3 is $499. 2. Quest 3 Elite Strap with Battery is $129. 3. Quest 3 Charging Dock is $129. 4. If you want Quest Touch pro selftracking controllers (not sure if they're compatible with Q3) it's $299 more. Total: $1056 So the Q3 is not 2x cheaper.
Yeah but not everyone are going to get those extra things, base quest 3 is around 2x cheaper (unless he did say it’s 2x cheaper with all those things, idk) And the controllers are compatible btw
yes but we are talking about the base model here not everybody wants a headstraps or charging dock and pro controllers besides they definetly don't have to be first party which would make it still a lot cheaper.
To be honest, the quest 3 including all accessories I purchased to fit my needs came around $936. But even after all that if the prices were the same, the quest 3 is still better than the quest pro. Better processor, better pass-through, better comfort. The only thing the pro has is face and eye tracking.
Hey, I am considering getting the quest pro and the quest 3. And i noticed where i live the quest pro is only 150$ more than the quest 3, the main reason i want the pro is cus it looks way comfier and cooler. Keep in mind for 150$ im getting double the storage too however when i had the quest 2 before i sold i loved the resolution and now im thinking the quest 3 is better cus of performance and resolution. Should i go for comfort and style in quest pro or quest 3 cus its a lot more future proof and better at gaming. Could you help me with this as I an very confused and let's assume price isn't that big of a problem as I definitely dont mind paying a little extra for the pro. Thank you!
I'm also in the same boat as you I want both because one is better than the other for different reasons and functions. And I plan to do both gaming and be expressive and probably make videos in VRCHAT while being expressive.
@@VRelity ty for your reply but i pulled the trigger and got the pro yesterday as its was only 70 bucks more on sale, and it was double the storage and i heard its better for pcvr plus i like the better controllers where it could affect in games like beat saber. I also love the premium build. Hope i don't regret my decision haha. Still waiting for it to arrive!
it sure is awesome for that price so i hope you enjoy it i just really hope meta keeps supporting it in the future that is the only thing i am worried about but besides it has some great quality build compared to the quest 3@@louaiiskandar
I actually did some testing tonight and the new Q3 graphic updates on various games run perfectly fine in the Pro which is encouraging. I was running the new Resist update which apparently is only for Quest 3 and it was running buttery smooth at the experimental 90hz. I have to say for a standalone game, it looks impressive. I played it on the Quest 2 and wasn't so impressed. Thanks so much for doing this video as the Pro gets forgotten about and it's creating excellent and helpful comments.
@@nintendoconvert4045 I didn't do anything other than update the game. It was just instantly better. I don't have a list to hand but there are quite a few. Hubrisband Golf+ are others I own that have been updated and work too. I know Red Matter 2 had but we get eye foveated rendering on the Pro anyway so it was always better.
@@nintendoconvert4045 on quest 3 not unless you changed things in the settings. For a list of vr games i made one for getting started on quest 3 on this channel
I have the quest pro (bought it earlier this year in July) and the only thing I was interested in this video was the mixed reality part. I was very dissapointed with my headset when it came to mixed reality, considering the price point and it being a huge selling point, and to see how much better the Q3 is with its mixed reality makes it an even more dissapointed experience. It's 100% true that the cameras for the quest pro are low resolution, and I think it has to do with the fact that they capture video at a high framerate. When you are in mixed reality with the quest pro it indeed is black and white and where you are looking is where the colors are added, as far as I remember. It almost feels like you're adding motion blur to the video, as the colors kind of ghost around. Would be better to turn off the added colors and only keep it b&w. You also mentioned the weight distribution of the headset, and for this I had to buy a third party strap to replace the original, that distributed the weight much more evenly on my head. For the most part it was pressuring my forehead, as the forehead pad was designed to (not necessarily, but most likely) take all the pressure off of the back. The new strap I bought is 100x times more comfortable and makes me able to play for much longer sessions. It also seems Meta decided to use some cheaper leather in their pads, as their pads irritate my skin and makes me blood red after maybe 30-60 minutes of gameplay. The new strap I bought is much better in this area, and I do not experience any irritation from hours of gameplay. I would say if you can get the quest pro cheaper its worth it. I mean I paid 1300 euros for mine and its sold for 1800 in my country, so saving 500 euros was worth it to me. The controllers are great, the tracking of the controllers and the headset is near perfect, the headset is made to be compatible with glasses, there's a market for third party attachments and equipment... It's awesome. I have not tried the face tracking in VR chat yet, not sure if that's even possible. All I know is it drains the battery of the headset quite a lot more, so turning it off is better imo. You can always attach a power bank and double your play-time though.
@@alexdubois6585 im late, but definitely Q3, in my honest opinion the pro was sort of made specifically for work and primarily non-gaming use whereas the Q3 is curated for gaming
Hey VRelity, question? What would you recommend I get, I have a quest 2 and play F1 23 VR (Steam VR through PC)… would it be better off getting the Quest 3 because of the higher resolution or the quest pro. Thank You
Greetings, Since you are playing pcvr as far as i understand I think the upgrade would be that crazy however if you are thinking of upgrading anyways I would recommend the quest 3 because of its bigger future potential and extra upgrades regarding spec.
I've worn both. I personally find the Quest Pros visuals to be quite a bit nicer despite the resolution difference. QLED and local dimming is a big pro for me with the Quest Pro. I still think the Quest 3 is an overall better buy. I'm just pointing out a personal observation. If the Quest Pros comfort isn't an issue for you, I'd actually say it's better for PCVR. Resolution isn't everything.
Just picked up the quest 3 I’m in love with it just bought assassin creed , I got the 128gb version because 500 is expensive enough. Only thing is the head strap it’s not a big deal maybe down the road I’ll get a cheap one on Amazon
I'm gonna go for the quest pro. I'm mainly a pcvr user and I feel like the pro is just more comfy for me. I wear glasses and the comfort factor for a vr headset for me is big. The pro is just easier to handle with glasses, as you can easily adjust your space for the glasses inside, whereas with the quest 3 you need to take the headset off and instead of it being a wheel where you can set it for however much you want, you gotta lock it in one of the 4 preset places. Also my friend's quest 3's glasses space adjustment just kinda gave out a month in and now freely slide forwards and backwards. I personally like the halo style support for the headset rather than the top strap, as for me it gets uncomfortable afted a while of usage and my cheekbones feel heavy and my head gets a bit painful. The more even distribution of weight on the pro definitely beats the base quest 3 for comfort. I usually play social games like VRChat, so face tracking and independent hand tracking is important to me. It makes your character more expressive and when I first saw it on someone else it was just... Surreal. I also like the little cool features the pro has in plus over the quest 3. Also I hate the headphone jack placement on the quest 3. And lastly, the quest 3 is just not that good looking. It looks heavy, even though it's not, and kinda complicated. It looks like you're wearing one of those fantasy prisoner masks with slits for eyes. The pro, on the other hand, looks slick, thin, modern and sometimes you can't even see the cameras through the front cover, which just makes it a good looking headset. Also I like the audio better on the pro.
You know you can change the strap on Quest 3? Many people buy 3rd party straps with built in batteries. One thing to note, since you can't change the strap on Quest Pro it becomes a problem when it breaks
Thanks for this comment this help me consider quest pro more because I've deciding between these two and really want Quest Pro to be more expressive in VRCHAT (I haven't been in there in a while because I don't have a VR yet). But I also want Quest 3 for gaming too.
Meta should really make a quest 3 pro. Put in an oled panel add face and eye tracking price it about were the pro was. They would pretty well dominate all parts of the market at that point.
I just picked up a Quest 2 a few days ago, but im already debating on getting the newer Quest 3 down the line (one of the reasons in particular, which may sound silly, but i am sharing using this with my kid. Having to re-adjust the head strap constantly is becoming an annoyance already as she needs help with it every single time, though i hope she eventually takes in my directions to do it). If im getting a 2nd I may as well upgrade simultaneously. I am planning on going with Quest 3 for sure, but one thing im curious about is if Quest Pro controllers could be bought second hand and used with the 3 (or even the 2)? EDIT: Apparently yes you can use the Pro controllers with the 3 or the 2. Seems like a best of both worlds idea but if anyone has tried this I'm all ears as I want to know if that may be worth the extra purchase or not.
The quest pro is way better in my opinion but the quest 3 is definitely near its level and my friend is saying that the quest 3 is only worth it because of the straps and that’s it
If your someone like me that play beat saber at s high level at expert+ the quest 2 and the new quest 3 controllers aren’t good enough u need to get the new quesr pro controllers or us a vr headset like the valve index to get perfect tracking.
Im getting the 3 but the pro seems better. Full controller tracking is a need. The fact that they didnt add a camera or two to the 3 controllers is pretty lazy. They’re just separating out features to make people are more confused and just endup buying both.
Though these are cheaper the the Apple Vision Pro. I like the fact that you don't have to use any controllers on the Vision Pro. This is one big thing that Meta needs to work on.
it has one color cam while all the other outside ones a black and white. That means it just adds color as a filter to the other cameras which is far from perfect and a big difference compared to quest 3 which has 4 color cams. I hope that explains?
A lot of people seem to hate the quest pro, so I wanted to share my experience with it. I bought the quest pro when it came out for 1500$ and I regret nothing. Would do it again, even if I knew about the price drops a few months later. The time was just perfect for me. A friend of mine has the quest 3 and I tried it for a few minutes, I wasn’t really able to tell a difference between the screen, but I can definitely say that the pro is much more comfortable (my friend doesn’t have any extension headstrap stuff). And also the pro controllers feel way better. I guess everyone has to decide on their own if the big price tag of the pro is worth it. I definitely was, like a year ago. Btw I heard people complaining about the battery life of the pro, they are talking bullshit. In one whole year, never have I ever had 0%, neither the controllers nor the headset.
I totally agree with you on everything! Also as far as the battery goes. I sit at my desk most of the time and I plug in the headset with the long ass cord the Pro came with and it charges really quick while I’m still using my headset. No problems with controllers. By the time I need a break I set the controllers on the pad to charge and they charge so fast I’ve never ran out of juice and even if I did we have the amazing hand tracking now anyway. Again.. hands down Pro wins for me as well. The video was great. I searched for a video to see what other Pro users thought about the Quest 3. I bought the Quest 3 to kind of try out .. on Amazon knowing I can set up a return and send it back in almost two months and used Affrim to make the small $30 payment which will be refunded when I return the Quest 3. It’s super tight in my small face and stiff feeling. I’d have to pay to get third party strap which it’s super competitive with prices right now you can get a five star review one for $25 but still to have to pay MORE on top of the price tag is silly. You’d almost HAVE to have more memory too so really paying the $535 cheaper version isn’t an option if you play a lot of games or what have you. Battery sucks. Can’t wear glasses and it’s too freaking heavy. Mixed reality looks cool but I really can care less about that. Can’t stand things on my face and the Pro is my one true one lol❤ thanks for the video bro
I have a quest 2 and honestly I love longevity in tach and with a stronger processor, better displays, and a stronger battery the Quest Pro seems like a viable upgrade for me over the Quest 3.
You can get a quest pro for less than 600-700 new. Maybe you could of considered this in the video. But considering metas lack of pro support for eye and face tracking (and generally) quest 3 is better for most/new users.
@@blaro5831Pro also includes $300 controllers, $130 charging doc, $80 link cable. A 256GB Quest 3 should cost about $575. Add all those and you’d be at $1,085 without eye tracking, foveated rendering or the premium build quality of the pro. 12GB RAM, music streaming during gameplay, local dimming, eye tracking and foveated rendering are pro features not offered on the 3.
The quest 3 is currently (1 year after this video) $299 for the 128GB version. This is more than most people will ever use. But you can double that for another $100 or double it again for yet another $100.
@arazic1657 oh I wonder why....maybe because theirs a thing called embargo....ya know the thing where people can only tell us what meta allows them too....
I think ever reviewer forgets to mention the quest pro has 12gb of ram compared to 8gb on the quest 3. So basically, the quest pro is the best for vrchat
I have both headsets and i can confirm thay the quest 3 is better in general. The only thing better about the quest pro are the conrollers(not that noticeable) and the battery life(youre going to want external batteries for both regardless)
Hi there! I have a question. Would you say the lack of foveated rendering and smaller FOV on the 3 takes away from the experience? Like does it feel dramatically different in comparison to the pro?
I have to buy one of these for Christmas. Might as well get the performance from the quest 3 we all know pro 2 will be out eventually anyways Ty great video
You forgot to mention, that the Quest Pro has more RAM memory (12gb) than the quest 3 (8gb). Sadly no games make use of the extra Quest Pro memory (that could be used for even more detailed textures than Quest 3 is able to.....)
You are right and like you mentioned while it could be a big game changer I didn't include it since not a single game makes use of this power sadly. I hope you still enjoyed the video
nice mhhh that is a good question I think if the price is the same perhaps the pro but on the other hand it might be worth waiting a little bit for their next headset.
If you are using for pcvr then the pro as the foveated rendering being introduced to games will take a lot of the strain from your GPU and allow better visual settings. If it's only going to be stand alone then the quest 3 will be the better choice for the marginal lens upgrade, though factor in the likelihood you will want to upgrade your strap. Headsets in general aren't too comfy stock, at least for me.
the only reason i really wanted the pro was for the better controllers...but seeing the pro has smarter weight distribution...i really wish i just had the pro now. or that the 3 took the smarter pages from the pro.
Higher display resolution on 3 vs Pro Higher resolution pass through on the 3 vs pro Local dimming on pro vs 3 Foviated rendering on pro vs 3 Eye tracking on pro vs 3 I think overall I prefer the higher resolutions on Quest 3 over Pro so I’ll stick with the 3.
I really liked that thanks to VR you can play without sitting down, so definitely games in which you can move around. It’s VERY cool that I can finally turn on a video with glasses on with a waterfall of notes and at the same time learn to play on my midi keyboard. In general, it turns out that everything here is so cool that you don’t even need a keyboard, you literally click your fingers in the air, and it rattles them and understands which key you pressed. I hope they are also suitable for work, it’s interesting to monitor videos while lying down, and create levels for the game while lying down too.@@VRelity
That issue is solved with a Velcro strap. Before you make an argument about modding. We all end up doing it anyway. The quest 3 will have its fair share of mods itself. The truth is that as long as the devices weigh more than 10g. They're going to be uncomfortable to wear. Shit, glasses give people headaches for that matter.
@@FlockofSmeagles I’m sure most folks won’t be okay with modding their 1100$ device, unless you’re talking about external wise (non permanent) in that case it’s just an accessory
it does not have color passthrough though but it does show color but in reality it uses black and white cameras and adds color on top of it but the quest 3 has actual color cameras
At the very moment in UK Quest 3 on ebay is about £370, Quest pro about £450, so in reality price difference is about £80 (less than $100), I have both, PRO has way better premium feel to it and controllers are amazing; mix reality is better with quest 3, but i do not play those type of games, I find myself wanting to use PRO more than Quest 3, pro head strap does not mess up my hair LOL and i like it better how it sits on head. Ideally would be amazing to use quest 3 "insides" on quest PRO shell.
To compare the price difference properly you must add the quest 3 docking price, the elite head strap price, the extra storage with the pro cost, and then if you also add the price of the pro controllers, the cost is about even, or even a bit more for the quest 3. So with the price being even when comparing apples for apples then one must decide if the features of the pro are valuable to them. Overall, the quest 3 with newer tech would be the better choice as it is more future proof. However I still prefer the pro for many reasons.
Why would you need any of those though? Sounds like you are just trying to inflate the price to fix your buyers remorse. Elite strap isn't necessary, you can buy cheap knock offs if it bothers you so much. Normal quest 3 controller is fine. Extra storage isn't necessary, most games aren't that heavy and most decent games are PCVR anyhow. You're not playing top of the line VR, not even SkyrimVR, on this thing standalone. Dock - - really? That lazy to just charge with a cable? Quest Pro was a bad decision, just deal with it.
I am a little torn between the two. I have the Quest pro about a year ago, got it for 500 bucks sold my HTC vive pro 2 at the time... I love the quest pro it's been my fav VR headset thus far and I've used so many over the years and for visuals its way better than the vive pro 2... The open face design and the new pancake clear lens with quantum dot and local dimming makes all the difference to me. I use Virtual Desktop, my settings are Godlike mode HEVC 10-bit running on a 13th gen i9 and a RTX 4080 and mainly play VRchat but I def played other titles like half-life alyx and Rec room beat saber ect.. everything looks so clear and has really nice colors. I also stream my desktop sometimes and watch anime on it and it looks clean sharp to me. I do want to try the Q3 via PCVR and see if it's any better for pcvr I mean 30% increase in resolution is nice but it does have some washed-out colors and the contrast isn't as good plus the closed face design so your face gets all sweaty again... not sure if it's worth it or if I could go back to closed face... also, I've never used the face tracking or hand tracking or even the passthrough lol not sure how to use it and I don't really care to learn hot to for now... But if you use it mobile meaning no PC then absolutely Q3 all the way! I've owned original oculus, quest 2 the Rift S the samsung Odyssey + and HP reverb G2 and vive pro 2 for reference
if i didnt have a pro already i would be all over the Q3 , I will be honest the quest 3 is a far better device than i was expecting (it has 2 screens and a great FOV for a start). Given i already have a pro however and given i primarily use it for PCVR, i am still happy with my purchase and will happily skip the 3 generation and hopefully go straight to quest 4. I do hope foveated rendering gets a proper support however, maybe it will mean quest pro gamers can get some of the quest 3 stand alone eye candy - esp if we run at 72hz, until then, meta have really done well with the Q3 and now have 2 great headsets on the market. i must admit i was never really sold on my quest 2, and indeed ended up buying a reverb G2 for pcvr. now however i dont feel the need for it. The G2 is sold and my lad has the quest 2. I also love my pro as it gives me Garden Scale VR....... despite the quest 1 working outdoors i could never get my quest 2 controllers to track outside, where as the pro is flawless in our out. I dont know about the Q3 but if i had to guess i would say the pro will track better outside.
Pro would become a clear winner if they would just port its capabilities over to PCVR. Standalone is cool, but PCVR is where the bulk of people who use VR end up anyway. Zuck and his stastitical analytics team need to realize that a vast swath of the people who are interested in tech aren't on phones 100% of the time. Also, that a vast swath of those people are blocking their trackers. They don't have all the data. If they'd stop trying to invade our privacy, and allow for the PCVR space. Meta would win the majority vote. It's sad, really.
Fun fact: face and eye tracking does work over PCVR both in link/airlink AND virtual desktop. You can even enable eye tracked foveated rendering! (Using 3rd party software.. but its not that hard and works well!)
@@Kalrisi_Rei 3rd party software, lol. You said it, not me. I know about openXR toolkit. I'm alluding more to the whole package through oculus home, or better yet, meta home, fingers crossed.

Remember this comment by the end of 2025 we will have heard or they will of released a Quest pro 2 with the same or higher resolution as the quest 3 and with micro oled screens and wider fov. Give us this meta we just want a light headset with at lesst 120 degree fov and the same hz as the quest 3 put a 20000mha battery inside and make a device the quest pro 2 can connect directly to the PC rather than over wifi. Give us this im in. Still love my quest 3 but with the bobovr headstrap 3 batteries a double battery charger and controller grips im much closer to the £1000 mark so give us a headset around a £1000 that covers all this
i just got meta quest 3 , while i have meta quest 2... sadly the meta 3 is feeling same heavy for face, and are very uncomfortable to have on more then a short time(5-10min).. render it useless despite it look sweet inside. i will return this to store for a full refund. ps the elite strap with extra battery came with 0% charge same as the vr set. extra batyery drain empty from 100 to 0% in 10min so that is broken. overall bad experiense.
mhhh that is sad to hear. I personally felt like the quest 3 was slightly less heavy to the face then the quest 2 but perhaps if you find a cheap quest pro then that might be a good option since it is supposed to have better weight distribution.
Quest pro! Def getting it Sure, it's expensive, but I, myself, don't have many expenses to worry about as of now, and can allow myself to get it But yes, the price is quite high... I do it for the face tracking and eye tracking tho!

Hahahaaha ME
Buying used
Both have their pros and cons, idk why but the quest pro just felt more marketed towards businessmen to me.
indeed I hope you enjoy it
Quest Pro actually has features that I want to be more expressive towards viewers and I originally was thinking HTC Vive would be the best choice for this but decided to wait and save up while life kept hitting me with bills but I see It's finally paid off and now still trying to figure out what I want because I still want Meta quest 3 for gaming but I also want Pro for VRCHAT or more to be more expressive.
@@TheVocalTune it's a tough decision for sure, as much as people dislike the quest pro, it was just ahead of its time.
@@TheVocalTuneyou could also get quest 3 and buy quest pro controllers for it… I’m thinking about doing that for beat saber
What are you saying? Quest 3 has 2 higher resolution screens
The Qled screen and the local dimming is what make the pro better for me
I get the local dimming but the quest 3 actually has a dual panel that has 30 percent more pixel density than quest pro.
@@VRelity yes but not the color that Qled give to the pro
OMG, the lens AD... This should have been the whole video!!!!!!!!! That's freaking amazing!
hahaha happy you enjoy it.
I think it might depend on the user but I can imagine what you mean. Are you getting a quest 3 then?
I own both headsets and Quest 3 > Pro. Yet Pro battery life vastly superior as well as controllers and least we not forget out of the box it comes with wirless charging and a primemum build quality. The passthrough on the quest 3 gives it the edge and is about 2-3x more clear.

Let's do a simple math:
Total: $1056
So the Q3 is not 2x cheaper.
Yeah but not everyone are going to get those extra things, base quest 3 is around 2x cheaper (unless he did say it’s 2x cheaper with all those things, idk)
And the controllers are compatible btw
correctly...🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
yes but we are talking about the base model here not everybody wants a headstraps or charging dock and pro controllers besides they definetly don't have to be first party which would make it still a lot cheaper.

And I plan to do both gaming and be expressive and probably make videos in VRCHAT while being expressive.
i would go for quest 3 honestly
@@VRelity ty for your reply but i pulled the trigger and got the pro yesterday as its was only 70 bucks more on sale, and it was double the storage and i heard its better for pcvr plus i like the better controllers where it could affect in games like beat saber. How can you afford both lol
Thankyou so much that means a lot. Comments like yours make it worth it for me.
Did you have to do anything to enable the enhancements? And do you have a games list for reference?
Thank you in advance!
@@nintendoconvert4045 I didn't do anything other than update the game. It was just instantly better. I don't have a list to hand but there are quite a few. @@VRelity I think the commenter was explaining that he ran a Quest 3 version of a game on Quest Pro- I was trying to inquire how.
Thankyou for your indepth view. Did you enjou the video ?
Which strap did u buy?
Quest Pro is now same price as Quest 3... Which one do you think I should choose? I mainly play PC VR games...
I agree with you there and I think you are completely correct in that statement. stay awesome
Just picked up the quest 3 I’m in love with it just bought assassin creed , I got the 128gb version because 500 is expensive enough. Only thing is the head strap it’s not a big deal maybe down the road I’ll get a cheap one on Amazon
that is awesome are you enjoying the game?
@@VRelity no I got a refund on a few mix reality games I couldn’t leave my bounties that blue circle to even play the game how it was meant too
I'm gonna go for the quest pro.
I get your points my only big worry is if meta keeps supporting the quest pro in the future
You know you can change the strap on Quest 3? Many people buy 3rd party straps with built in batteries. One thing to note, since you can't change the strap on Quest Pro it becomes a problem when it breaks
@@miloszivkovic6256 and I think they have aftermarket prescription, lens adapters
Thanks for this comment this help me consider quest pro more because I've deciding between these two and really want Quest Pro to be more expressive in VRCHAT (I haven't been in there in a while because I don't have a VR yet). But I also want Quest 3 for gaming too.
Thats the only reason I would choose not to buy one, its to much of a risk to buy the thing and then be left in the dark
Meta should really make a quest 3 pro. Put in an oled panel add face and eye tracking price it about were the pro was. They would pretty well dominate all parts of the market at that point.
yeah that would be amazing
Personally, the quest pro is good enough for now. If we start getting quest 3 only games I might switch 6-12 months later
smart move
@yaser1638 both have mixed reality. Quest 3 is just better. As it stands there's nothing on quest 3 that you cant play on pro
if you wait 12 months, wait 6 more and there might be a quest 4. :D
I’m confused are you able to play games on the quest pro?
@crimsiden As it stands the Quest Pro is still pretty much the best headset for PCVR with face tracking.

The quest pro is way better in my opinion but the quest 3 is definitely near its level and my friend is saying that the quest 3 is only worth it because of the straps and that’s it
its a personal opinion I guess

If your someone like me that play beat saber at s high level at expert+ the quest 2 and the new quest 3 controllers aren’t good enough u need to get the new quesr pro controllers or us a vr headset like the valve index to get perfect tracking.
if you are a hardcore player indeed
Im getting the 3 but the pro seems better. Full controller tracking is a need. The fact that they didnt add a camera or two to the 3 controllers is pretty lazy. They’re just separating out features to make people are more confused and just endup buying both.
I think also to make costs lower
I do want the Quest Pro cause my main game will be vrchat but i just have a question i can link it to my pc like the Quest 2 or 3 right?
correct, it uses the same usb c cord

Though these are cheaper the the Apple Vision Pro. I like the fact that you don't have to use any controllers on the Vision Pro. This is one big thing that Meta needs to work on.
There is handtracking on metas vr headsets too if you want
I got a quest pro. Don't see any reason to get a quest 3.
If you have a quest pro already then fair enough. Hope you still
Enjoyed the video ?
Unless you starting with nothing. Then Quest 3 is the clearer option, pun intended.
I thought quest pro has full color cams?
it has one color cam while all the other outside ones a black and white. That means it just adds color as a filter to the other cameras which is far from perfect and a big difference compared to quest 3 which has 4 color cams. I hope that explains?
Thanks G@@VRelity

Im currently considering second hand Pro instead of new Quest 3. Thank you for sharing your experience with Quest Pro.
yes I hear a lot of similar stories.

Nice
I have a quest 2 and honestly I love longevity in tach and with a stronger processor, better displays, and a stronger battery the Quest Pro seems like a viable upgrade for me over the Quest 3.
Seems like a Quest 3 with the Touch Pro controllers would be the best of both worlds.
that is amazing but ofcourse comes at an additional cost
Still, I’d rather just pay 299 and get the quest three because I’ll still be saving money
Oh, the 299 is for the controllers on top of the price of the headset so it would probably be about 798
You can get a quest pro for less than 600-700 new. Maybe you could of considered this in the video. But considering metas lack of pro support for eye and face tracking (and generally) quest 3 is better for most/new users.
The Quest 3 is far superior in every other way than face tracking, eye tracking, and deeper black levels in the screens.
There's an argument for the Pro, but we all know that support is going to be lacking for anything the Pro can do.
Would be dope if Quest 3 took the eye/face tracking things from the Pro. It already has some ideas taken from Pro and 2 as is

You are right and like you mentioned while it could be a big game changer I didn't include it since not a single game makes use of this power sadly. I hope you still enjoyed the video
Pro is 550$ in my region and quest 3 is 500$ what should i choose?
nice mhhh that is a good question I think if the price is the same perhaps the pro but on the other hand it might be worth waiting a little bit for their next headset.

Yes, the camera in the middle adds the color, there are two black and white cameras on the side, he mentioned how it adds color.
not true color though its black and white painted over with color and its bad
it does not have color passthrough though but it does show color but in reality it uses black and white cameras and adds color on top of it but the quest 3 has actual color cameras
Thanks for sharing
Face Tracking though is kinda big
To compare the price difference properly you must add the quest 3 docking price, the elite head strap price, the extra storage with the pro cost, and then if you also add the price of the pro controllers, the cost is about even, or even a bit more for the quest 3. So with the price being even when comparing apples for apples then one must decide if the features of the pro are valuable to them. Overall, the quest 3 with newer tech would be the better choice as it is more future proof. However I still prefer the pro for many reasons.
I guess it is a personal opinion for sure but yeah I am just talking about the base models here. I hope you still enjoyed the video ?

Extra storage isn't necessary, most games aren't that heavy and most decent games are PCVR anyhow. You're not playing top of the line VR, not even SkyrimVR, on this thing standalone.
Dock - - really? That lazy to just charge with a cable?
Quest Pro was a bad decision, just deal with it.
Quest pro and quest 3 are both good
they are sure awesome vr headsets
5:30 ...I guess I am among the minority then. I use it mostly for enterprise purposes.
everybody uses it for different use cases. I hope you still enjoyed the video
Found a seller Quest Pro for 400, do I take it over Quest 3?
personally I still wouldn't I would go for new quest 3
@VRelity I purchased the Quest 3 from BestBuy yesterday.
I’ll wait for the quest pro 2
nice
I should say that quest 3 is better than quest pro
I think so too especially for the price. Are you getting a quest 3?
@@VRelity I guess so
Quest 3 has 512GB for the $500 so it has more than the pro
I've owned original oculus, quest 2 the Rift S the samsung Odyssey + and HP reverb G2 and vive pro 2 for reference
dammm you have a lot of vr experience my friend
How is the screen compared to rift
no eye and facial movement :(
only the pro has that sadly
With my perscription those VR lenses will set me back $170 before shipping and taxes... i'll stick with wearing my contacts in VR
fair enough
if i didnt have a pro already i would be all over the Q3 , I will be honest the quest 3 is a far better device than i was expecting (it has 2 screens and a great FOV for a start).
I just hope quest 4 gets eyetracking and foveate rendering and dare I say full body tracking build in
This is insane. There should not be so much you have to sacrifice to hug the pro.
I'm alluding more to the whole package through oculus home, or better yet, meta home, fingers crossed.
alright
@@VRelity Ok?
@@FlockofSmeagles i get what you mean
This is just an advert for quest 3. The pro controllers virbration is much much stronger and the quest 3 controllers is so weak its not even noticeable
but the pro controllers are also almost the same price as the entire quest 3
Quest pro in now cheaper than Quest 3 512GB
that is crazy
stop using a ai voice filter
this is my own voice my friend
@@VRelity ok
Vrwave is a bad option they only ship out around December
that is because quest 3 just got released my buddy
@VRelity alot of others ships out end of this month
I have zero interest in mixed reality I don't understand why that's going to be their main focus going forward
productivity so basically using it besides gaming
Ill wait till the Quest 3 pro that hopefully has eye tracking....
you gonna be waiting for sometime then
Indeed...@@xidiffi
there has never been a pro version of a numbered headset before, what makes you think we’re gonna get one now?? a quest pro 2 maybe
same thing@@xr-rd4lu
not sure when that comes out and keep in mind the quest pro already has eye tracking.
Still love my quest 3 but with the bobovr headstrap 3 batteries a double battery charger and controller grips im much closer to the £1000 mark so give us a headset around a £1000 that covers all this
lets hope so man I will make sure to remember it
i just got meta quest 3 , while i have meta quest 2... sadly the meta 3 is feeling same heavy for face, and are very uncomfortable to have on more then a short time(5-10min).. render it useless despite it look sweet inside. i will return this to store for a full refund. ps the elite strap with extra battery came with 0% charge same as the vr set. extra batyery drain empty from 100 to 0% in 10min so that is broken. overall bad experiense.
mhhh that is sad to hear. I personally felt like the quest 3 was slightly less heavy to the face then the quest 2 but perhaps if you find a cheap quest pro then that might be a good option since it is supposed to have better weight distribution.
@@VRelity already returned it and ill order a bigscreen beyond vr set instead. those are years ahead compare to other vr set developers it seems
@@Shadows_101 alright and are you enjoying it so far?
@@VRelity i will take my time to order it to they accept 1 of my country pay methods like Klarna.. Safer this way😊
@@Shadows_101 sounds smart. Enjoy
Quest pro! Def getting it
Sure, it's expensive, but I, myself, don't have many expenses to worry about as of now, and can allow myself to get it
But yes, the price is quite high...
I do it for the face tracking and eye tracking tho!
I jus hope meta keeps supporting it in the future
@@VRelity I know they discontinued my rift s sadly... but why would a company normally stop supporting such a new product like the quest pro?
I'm asking this question because I lack the knowledge about why in general companies do that.😅
mostly because quest pro didn't sell as much as they hoped for that is why they discontinued the oculus go quickly too@@nevoh4940
I bought a lens protector after watching this video
happy to hear that hope it helps
The Quest Pro was the most uncomfortable VR headset ive ever used.
really? that is surprising to hear. But are you getting a quest 3?
@@VRelity got mine on launch day, I returned my Quest Pro after only a day of usage.
Então, o Quest 3 seria superior ao Quest Pro? Claro que a relação Custo-beneficio é relevante pra mim...
Quest 3
Mf really showed us parts of the psvr2 trailer
My bad used it as b-roll but I hope you still enjoyed the video
You dont even have the headset yet!!!
which one do you want?
Give me a quest 3
wish I could do that
You cant see your world as if its real life its not good at all
quest 3 passthrough in my opinion is much better then the quest pro
Quest pro much better quality
the only downside is the price
@@VRelityDepends on person
No it has a lower resolution worse passthrough higher price worst processor making it less powerful uncomfortable because all the weight sits on your head which is uncomfortable and its only up to 90hz as opposed to the 120hz on quest 3
can I GET A pin
No
