The BIG FISH start showing up at about the 7:20 mark (when the fight starts)
The title is a direct reference to the PR history of the alligator gar.
The thumbnail was taken during filming when some of the B-roll fish are shown and was actually used in the filming of the video (though the bait itself didn't make the final cut).

Good to have you back Pal 👍🏻 I was thinking you may have got tangled up with some kinda illness. Worms in your tubes, bumblefoot, deathly hiccups or some such thing. 😁 Glad you put the slap down on the Rona, and your family stuff settled down as well. Your channel is great, I look forward to the hunt with you! Best Regards, Eric in Oregon.

I love it when the fight is over, the fish is appreciated and released, and you see them swimming back to their home. I like seeing their body and tails move side to side as they realize they are free and disappear back into the water.

Great video! I love bowfin and gar, really hate it when I see dead ones or see people telling others they’re invasive. Longnose gars r my favorite fish to catch, despite having pikes and muskies in my area, they r highly underrated, large predators with great fights

    Cool, I envy you!
I live in Germany, but I come from Poland.
Poland is now a complete desert of fish.
They are almost absent. We used to have catfish and sturgeons, 3 meters long.
Now it's hard to catch a catfish 2 meters long. It's the same in Germany. That's why I go fishing to the Netherlands and to France.

The entire mouth is pretty much solid bone, almost impossible to penetrate. You really do have to wait for them to start trying to swallow the bait as the back of their mouth has a bit softer tissue.

    • @wildlifefishingshow

Like you caught that Blue with luck, I was shark fishing off a pier and my line snapped, but as it snapped it somehow managed to get itself in a knot around the wooden fence around the pier. I managed to handline him in, and while he was relatively small, it was an incredibly lucky moment since I only had one shark rig.
