Great idea and beautifully crafted! I would recommend though, that you put some studs or spikes on the handguard portion, that way if you get attacked by zombies while staking your tent you can fight them off more easily.
Jesse Sisolack I saw that one. My thinking was that these are the same thing but intended to be a " tent stake " because UA-cam is getting more and more liberal every day and might decide the other video was teaching people how to make an illegal weapon or something, so he made this version where he calls them tent stakes as to maybe fly under the radar. This was my takeaway from this video.
Oh I see. Well assuming that UA-cam and Google screwed him over does seem to be a safe bet. I am sure tent stake videos are demonetized most of the time, ha.
Actually a nice idea. It makes holding the stake rather easy when driving it. Seems a bit heavy, so might not be the best option if you are hiking in, but the large loop allows a lot of different tie down options.
+Jesse Sisolack Thanks! What I need to do is get some company to make a titanium or duralumin version with a locking carabineer on the outer side of the loop. Then it would be light, versatile, and still be easy to handle.
One of these with carabiner and made of a light, tough material...that would be awesome. I do not think anything like that exists, at least I can not find it.
You should consider selling your WWI nail knife. I bet youd get a lot of customers with the heightened interest in WWI right now. Its so cool and unique, and since its just rebar basically free of costs besides your time & labor.
Nathan C Well we are obviously in the centennial of WWI so theres renewed interest just from that, plus the success of video games like Battlefield One and Verdun. I collect militaria and ive seen helmet prices literally double in the past few years. And simply ive seen a lot more interest in WWI online lately.
+abe frohman Thanks! It's a pretty simple weld, everything is already secured and there's nothing to clamp it to in place. I imagine it would be a pretty inexpensive job.
Should make a little letter opener or dagger out of a piece of rebar really like how those tent pegs and the trench knife you did the other day keep up the good work
Hey nick, you should invest in an NC tool co anvil, mine is wonderful and all of the bending and stuff you are doing is really easy with it, happy forging!!
Suggestion eh? You know if you make the point a bit longer and thinner, upset probably the last 4-6 inches to draw out into a collar you could make a perfectly serviceable bodkin arrow point ~ a sage nod ~ Edit: You can also make the mandrill used to form the collar out of 1/2" rebar or the like
Your rebar videos are really nice because the materials are super inexpensive to get a hold of. Would you be able to make a video where you forge out a fixed blade from rebar, but work the handle area down to put on scales? I want to start forging as soon as I have the money to start, and I'm probably lay going to start with some rebar knives with varying finish just for practice, and it would be cool to have a reference.
You should try making a sword out of 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch re-bar next. Not sure what style but im sure you could come up with something very interesting. I have tried myself for a few weeks now but not to much success. Seeing someone else more experienced do it would help a lot I think. Love the video btw
BackyardBowyer sounds like your already planning it out! The last few videos you made look like you are just leading into the big project of the bo3 zombie Bowie! Really hope you give it a try! I know it is going to be a project I am going to try soon hopefully!
+Rebecca Luis I'm not sure how much good that'll do. A bear with a stake sticking out of it sounds a lot more dangerous than without! Thanks for watching!
One tip: try to get the point as centered and symmetric as possible. If you don't, the stake will go off course as you drive it into the ground. I made one of these with the worst possible point, a single bevel, and it moves a couple of inches sideways before it's all the way down. Edit: the point I'm talking about is like the ones on your 10" rebar stake on Etsy. These will tilt and go sideways with that point.
Great idea and beautifully crafted! I would recommend though, that you put some studs or spikes on the handguard portion, that way if you get attacked by zombies while staking your tent you can fight them off more easily.
Also pair those with that homemade tripod for camp cooking!
Leejohn Hernandez right!
Cool " tent stakes " these should be great tent stakes 😉😉
If the ground is actually someone's head, then yes I agree with you.
If you are implying that they would make a good weapon, go back and watch the WW1 French Nail. It is the weapon version.
Jesse Sisolack
I saw that one.

I'd like to see a rebar tomahawk or other rebar weapons
Rebar might be too thin to make hawk out of but he has made them out of files in the past.

Why would more people be interested right now?

Hi man love your videos
Rebar Hatchet using this handle style. Maybe weld a larger piece of steel to the end to become the axe head.
That's an awesome idea. I can't weld but I bet it wouldn't cost much to have it done after I made the stakes.
+abe frohman Thanks! It's a pretty simple weld, everything is already secured and there's nothing to clamp it to in place. I imagine it would be a pretty inexpensive job.

+Jester 2705 Thank you for the awesome suggestion!
You should sell the french ww1 nail nife on your site
Great work! Thanks for sharing :)

Fantastic video man

+Monkeysrock Thanks for the suggestion! That's a great idea!
Good video man
I would like to see you do a more in depth video or video series on construction of anvils. T'would be most informative.
Nice improvised World War 1 trench knives! Errrr, I meant tent stakes! Yes, tent stakes.
And if It comes to it it's easy to turn into a French nail. All u gotta do is forge the blade and sharpen
good stuff
Hi Nick, could you possibly twist the spike and make a sharp point at ten end for a combat spike knife? Great video by the way!
Did you see his French nail video?
Why did you forge the point rather than grind? Love all your stuff
all your videos are so cool! could you do a tutorial of how to make a wrist mounted crossbow sometime soon?
+skully the kid That would be an awesome build! Not sure how I'd pull it off, but that would be fun. Thanks for the suggestion!
I like it...
I like this more than the French nail
+Maniac Shifty Awesome! Thanks for watching!
No problem man keep up the good work man tbh I've been wanting to see more rebar stuff sense the knife you made way back when
Cool stake! Keep up the good work! Have a blessed day in Jesus name!
+coiloverdirt Thank you!
Could you make a spiral ground anchor in a similar way?
your such man I'm such a big fan of your videos thank you
+G Castro Thank you for watching!
another great video nick....are you going to do the rebar arrow heads?
+captainnemo Yes! I'll get to those as soon as I get the forge fired up! Thanks for watching!
thanks for the reply nick, i think it would be interesting to see what types you make
you should make primitive arrows and bow
+G Castro Thanks for the suggestion!
These would make a good weapon to kill vampires or zombies also, lol.
Now make a tent for the stakes!
+winter sun Hahah! It may be a while, but I'm planning on making some tents for camping next year!
BackyardBowyer huh, I was joking but that's cool
finally
if you make a longer version , it can be used as a sword breaker .
You should try making a sword out of 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch re-bar next. Not sure what style but im sure you could come up with something very interesting. +John Mike Awesome! Thanks for watching and for the suggestion!
Man's a Rembrandt in rebar.
+Landrew0 Haha! Thank you!
Man, if you had some thicker rebar, you would be on your way to a good black ops 3 zombies Bowie knife
You should make the black ops 3 zombie Bowie
+Ian Holmen Thanks for the suggestion! I should do my own take on it with a lead spring blade and rebar guard!
BackyardBowyer sounds like your already planning it out! The last few videos you made look like you are just leading into the big project of the bo3 zombie Bowie! Really hope you give it a try! I know it is going to be a project I am going to try soon hopefully!
Imagine a bear charging you take out the tent stake and stab the bear
+Rebecca Luis I'm not sure how much good that'll do. A bear with a stake sticking out of it sounds a lot more dangerous than without!
Thanks for watching!
Just came from french nail
+pussy lips Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Why use a ballpeen hammer?
Absolute Gaming It's lighter and he's not really moving any metal he's just bending it.
Jade arrow head plz
+Tommy Dent I'll definitely have to do one of those. Thanks for watching!
Seriously this looks like a bushcraft tent/tarp steak, you could sell those, marketed towards camping gear maybe...
One tip: try to get the point as centered and symmetric as possible. If you don't, the stake will go off course as you drive it into the ground. I made one of these with the worst possible point, a single bevel, and it moves a couple of inches sideways before it's all the way down.

+jjohnston94 Thank you for the tip!
I saw the thumbnail and got confused. I thought it was ZNA making more zombie tools.
+LoneWanderer360 Hahah! Eli definitely makes some pretty awesome zombie weapons!
