    Those cells were averaging about 2200ma. I made a 10s 16p battery with 2200 cells. No fuses, I hadn't heard of fusing back when I made it 2 years ago. Had to replace the BMS. Because it's 67v it's connected to the bike motor with only 2.5 flex. My next project is a solar generator. Probably going to be about 2kw.

      sounds about right! have to wait for Rohan to chime in i think he said he built it to a 550ah target - very interesting results if that's the case..The whole ebike community doesn't fuse - more for the used cells than the new i thinks.. Still needs a good bms tho.

    How reliable are the generic (Chinese) cells? You ever had any problems or use them in your Powerwalls?

    • @HBPowerwall
      @HBPowerwall  6 років тому +1

      I've tested a few SZN cells failed after 120 ish cycles - Big brands or nothing - No way it's worth it, you can't make something cheaper with out first using cheaper materials or cheaper quality controls

    Damn cool, I notice you use copper wires in this pack (for busbars), and is that what, resistor legs welded with a spotwelder? Very cool, Im considering doing this also, much cheaper than the damn nickel strips.

    • @HBPowerwall
      @HBPowerwall  6 років тому

      resistor legs is for chumps we are way past that - we use something like this kit.com/HBPowerwall/diypowerwall-build-parts/gpw-30awg-bare-tinne

    • @bryzabone
      @bryzabone 5 років тому

      HBPowerwall mate have you by chance got an Aussie trusted supplier for the tinned copper ‘fuse wire” reels? Love ya work, and Nargaur I couldn’t agree more on losing the nickel strips 👍🏻

  • @WildLifeBackyardCamera
    @WildLifeBackyardCamera 6 років тому

    i thought it was important to have busbar exiting on 2 different side of the pack, like + on the right and - on the left for ex, in order to make sure that we wouldn't face the problem with cells closer to the "exit" of the busbar would be drained first. I though that by having busbar on 2 different sides, the repartition would be more homogeneous

    • @HBPowerwall
      @HBPowerwall  6 років тому +1

      for smaller packs this is a genuine concern - big ones ... nop no issue

    Hello, how are you? I am very happy, because I watch your videos about lithium batteries, even though I do not know the English language nor do I watch scenes to try to take advantage of your extensive experience in this field and I have a great desire to make such a battery, but I do not face a problem in charging and there are no tools in our country I need to charge it, and I want you to be kind enough to charge it a simple way to charge it so that I can collect one large 12 volts. Can you help me? I have a regular Transformer charger or a power supply as a computer with all my respect to you.
