I recorded all the Christmas cartoons years ago because I could see this coming, and I didn't want to lose a single treasure from my youth.......and I still watch those all these years later ✌️

Physical copies are king.
Also, some publishers and streaming services are making changes to adjust for "current year".
Btw, Tubi is free and great older stuff.

That's why I like hard copies between music cd's, tv show's / movies , and video games. So if content ever gets removed or there is an issue that I payed for it, I don't have to worry.
Birch! Brother!!!! With you being a music fan I find it hard to believe you're not a fan of owning physical media! I've got tons of dvd, bluray, 4k, and audio cds. If it's something I like, I buy the media. Whether it's Star Wars or ZZ Top, if you love it, own it. The older I get the more I believe in physical media.
I'm like you, if I have to spend the money to own a physical copy I will do so. It's crying shame that big business has hijacked our holidays.
Agree - streaming can be painful sometimes . There's a nice blu-ray boxset of Charlie Brown . It has most, if not all, of the specials on it.
Love the videos folks.. Keep em coming.. Apple relented and allowed PBS to do a one time showing last year or the year before. Sadly they aren't doing it this. I've owned a physical copy for a while.
Others have said it, but physical media is very much the way to go for that reason. Or, at the very least, a digital copy for yourself. It's going to get worse, and some things will get vaulted not to be seen again. Maybe even for political reasons.
Burch I am totally with you on this. Give me the days of 4 channels which everyone got because you knew all the christmas specials would be on one of those channels and none of them would be at the same time so you could watch them all.
I’ve come to the realization you have to get/keep physical media to enjoy what you love, music and movies.
Eons ago Disney said they were taking The Sorcerer's Apprentice off the market not to be shown or sold for at least 20 years. So I ran out & bought a VHS version of it for posterity, not knowing it was being digitized for DVD purposes. So I imagine they made a mint by freaking people out thinking it wasn't going to be available. They knew digitization was coming, but we the public weren't aware of it, so many of us ran out & bought a copy in a now defunct medium.
Fair enough, but when you have a copy of something you can hold in your hand (DVD, CD, record) it’s not dependent so much on internet connection or outside sources to enjoy. That was my point.
there are dvd and blue copies of it floating around at walmart stores. mostly in a 3 movie pack aka charlie brown christmas, thanksgiving, and holloween

Why years ago I bought it on DVD it was a 3 disk set with the Halloween and Thanksgiving and some extras like Its Christmas time again Charlie Brown.
Believe it or not I have a lp recording of the audio track of the original cartoon. it came with a 12 page booklet.I can't see Linus's explination of Christmas anymore. But I still get to hear it .
What is this world turning to? You serious? Man, I'm a 59 years old Portuguese, and even I know Christmas without Charlie Brown's cartoons isn't the same or have the same meaning. Pretty much like not having A Christmas Carol at Christmas day. This is sad news in a supposedly happy season.

Bought all the charlie brown shows on dvd before the apple buy out. Looks like the Apple tree has spoiled time to cut it down.
I've never done any streaming services and this year we dumped Dish. Back to free over-the-air stuff. Just a minute while I go outside and yell at the kids on my lawn...
I agree. It's wrong. The Christians are being removed from tv. Normal tv the ones that us blue-collar Americans watch. It's ashame.
I always bitched about cable until the streaming services came along. Who knew it could get worse than cable?
Instead of paying 100+$ to get all platforms, buy some DVD or Blu-ray

I totally agree with you. A Charlie Brown Christmas is a American Institution. And all of these people that own all these streaming platformas what to take all the American Traditions such as Charlie Brown away from us. I do not want to and I don't want to sign up to 10 streaming channals so that I can maybe watch 2 shows that I Love. It is absolutely insane how Americans have no other way to watch on TV what we want to watch. And Now Best Buy is eliminating selling physical Media which is absolutely insane. I do stream a few things and even if you do that and Buy what your streaming, in a way you own it and in a way you don't. I want the DVD in my hand. I want to own it and have total control over what is mine and what I paid for to watch, without going through all the BS of Signing in to a streaming service with a password and all that garbage. Charlie Brown Christmas is as much of a classic as Dr. Seuss How The Grinch Stole Christmas and to my knowledge that is not on TV anymore either. I am not getting rid of my DVD collection no matter what happens. I don't want Paramount Plus, or Netflix or any of the others. When I was a kid and we had like 10 Channels there was much more on TV to watch then there is now and it was 100% totally free which it should be. Why should anyone have to pay for TV. It is ridiculous, but like so many other things in our world, We are going backwards, Not Forwards. I am so happy I have the DVD of Charlie Brown Christmas and all of the other classics when I was growing up so I can watch them when I want and I don't have to go threw a 3 ring circus to watch what I want to watch. I don't blame you one bit for being mad. Everyone should be. Merry Christmas

I'm still bummed out for not getting to watch Charlie Brown Christmas. I loved watching it every year! The Christian message is what it's all about.I don't have apple, except for what's in my fridge! Lol
The steaming services are doing the same thing that HBO MAX and other movie channels did when we were all younger to TV.

You ditch cable for streaming service, cable turns itself into a streaming service, now youre back at cable again....dammit! I knew theres a reason why I kept my physical copies of various media....now where did I put my betamax?
If Blockbuster was smart, they could reinvent themselves and come back as a streaming service, get the rights to as many shows and movies they can...
They tried that prior to going out of business, I'll let you guess how well it worked for them.....

Making Charlie Brown Christmas (which specifically is against the commercialization of Christmas), just another product to be sold is dystopian. Apple should not be able to buy it, it should be able to be viewed by everyone freely on a platform that you do not have to sign into or purchase a membership. The Library of Congress needs to create a platform like UA-cam, where every film or video clip they posses can be watched by the public. Maybe something like Instagram too, so you can see all of the pictures and artwork as well.
I have just about all Streaming and it's only around $150.00 per month

There is a silver lining to this that no one speaks to. Apple now owns Peanuts as an IP. If not for Apple ownership, Peanuts would cease to exist. I know we all want Charlie Brown Christmas to just exist out in the ether somewhere for 364 days then once a year we pull it out and reminisce over it. But no one could live off of that. At least this way, Peanuts still makes new content that keeps a lot of people employed.
