Haggerty is hands down one of the most technical fighters out there: good shot diversity and selection, distance management and a switch hitter as well. He has all of these qualities while maintaining his flow and being "elegant" (in its own way). Incredibly hard to decipher and replicate.
Showing respect is good. But I just hate how Haggerty kisses the face and touches the butt of Mongkolpetch after the last round. I find that is utterlly inapropriate and disrespectfull.

I don't think he will, he's currently competing under karate combat which he might signed a contract with, and he's 37 or 38, let's be honest, the competition in one FC is much vicious than karate combat, so I don't think he will.

I love that this is more stadium style rules, than Ones Lumpinee night’s entertainment style rules. The fast and furious pace is much more akin to Dutch style KB and takes away from MT which is more methodical. Allowing them to work in the clinch is paramount to MT.
to me its a bastardazation of muay thai without the music and the wai kru, its as much ritual combat as it is a sport without that its just entertainment, i still very much enjoy it but it will lead to less technical muay thai, ONE muay thai is at a good place rn because the stadium scene nurtured these technical talents, I hope in the future we still develop technical counterfighting style as opposed to knockout aggressive style that this ruleset favors

just gaining 10 pounds isn't enough.the guy he would be fighting would be normally walking around at 10 pounds more than his fighting weight so will be much too big and strong for a naturally smaller lighter guy who has bulked up to fight in the next weight class. see Canelo Alvarez moving up to light heavy and getting beat up by Bivol
I hope he doesn’t waste his talents by signing for ufc. He’d just be taken to floor constantly and submitted/pounded. Not many would touch his standup, but it takes a loooong time to develop a solid ground game

Modified rules and equipment. As you said, smaller gloves don't like Clinch and will break it up ASAP. Besides being in the Asia market, they’re trying to reach Western audiences.
@@letsgetit90 Foolish and its not a surprise to see Muay Thai lose in boxing when they're not permitted to use one of their core weapons. Boxing work is harder to pull off in MT specifically because of the clinch, and imposing artificial rules takes away from the realness of it.

Haggerty seems to be using more spinning back fist and elbow moves than I've seen from most other fighters. For both defensive and offensive purposes.
