This is the first video after watching every video out there (including every single Revival
one and the manuals and tech articles I could view the past two days) that explains wiring from the M Switches straight to the M Unit. Why there aren’t any other videos that explain this baffles me... thank you. Conclusion: you CAN wire switches straight to the M Unit without connectors in between, and it’s OK to do so. Two... days...
Well we use our own switches and our own “m-unit” called the black box. You should check it out for reference at purposebuiltmoto.com . There’s also heaps of handy wiring guides up there
@@PurposeBuiltMoto amazing. I will! I’m new at all of this, but I’m going for it and can use all the good references I can get! Thank you!
I know Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a method to log back into an instagram account??
I somehow lost my account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Titan Dominik instablaster :)
@Axl Brayan I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Dude thanks 🤘🏼
I just want to replace my stock Harley switches.. do I need the black box? What will happen if I don’t use the box? Thanks
Hey Mick,
It can be done without e black box, but the unit is designed to make your life easier.
If you don’t use it you just have to use a few extra relays etc
So what did you assign to these 3 buttons.
Also did you get rid of the choke on this bike/handlbars ?
What diameter has the cable that you use/ are supposed to use? Many thanks
It depends on the function
but awg20 or awg22 is a good start point. If their signal only you can go smaller
hi, This buttons can be start motor button? or only ligth on/ of? thanks
Андрей Баранов you can use them for starter motor, lights, kill switch and horn
@@PurposeBuiltMoto hey. Do i need a m-unit to put theese on my bonnie or can i replace the ugly triumph originals? It's a 2004
@@oddis188 Hey mate, yes you need a switching module. like the Purpose Built Moto black box, or the M-unit
What gauge wire are you using?
We use a 1.5mm or 2mm wire, good for up to 15A @ 12vDC
For Honda CBF supersport classic mortocycle 750
Where did you buy 3 switch?
Purposebuiltmoto.com
What if the original switch housing has a choke than how will they be used
Joseph billey I move the choke to under the tank or directly off the carburettor
That’s the answer I was looking for
How to wire the 3 buttons with out the m unit thats my question any help thanks
Use this module to make your switches work perfectly with minimla install time. purposebuiltmoto.com/product/handlebar-kit-black-box-2-switches/
Would this 3 button unit be appropriate to use for my turn signals and horn functions? Interested potential buyer. Thanks.
chase gilbertson it sure is mate, check out our website for more details
Yeah it is Chase, check out our website, you'll need a black box to go with it for that functionality.
After three years, thanks! As I am going to install one of these on my bike. What kind of wire are you using (core mm?)
Hey Etienne, we use a 2mm cable usually. if you like a smaller type can be used depending on your application.
@@PurposeBuiltMoto Thank you! Keep on posting.
Great video, thanks! With these switches, can you wire them with OEM connectors and plug and play instead of the faff of m-units or such like?
It can be done, but the better and easier way is to use our black box module or another control. module like
@@PurposeBuiltMotois there a video showing how to wire the black box module to say a stock Dyna or something of the like?
kinda skipped right over the part where you have to drill your 3 switch clearance holes eh...
that said seems as all you need to do is make that housing a few mm deeper and avoid the clearance problem all together
Regardless you need holes for the cable entry anyway.
For us the minimal design is better and the holes allow clearance so the cables won’t foul and short on the bars
@@PurposeBuiltMoto I suppose it depends on how proud the housing was made to whether or not you could get away with the clearance and one hole.
I too wanted my buttons as flush as I could get and had to mill a rather large hole in the bar
@@axa.axa. We have a few articles on the website showing the process I use. For my 3 button switches I normally drill 2 holes, 1x 8.5mm and 1 x 6mm. the smaller one is for the 2 button and larger for the single button side.
What’s with the music?
if you use a metal hammer for your center punch you will get better results. dead blow bounces.
can you expand ?
@@mattduncan5500 metal on metal is usually how it is done, you would get a definite strike and mark as opposed to the rubber mallet hitting the metal center punch and giving you a "bounce". i didn't think as to that may be the only mallet you may have.

Manners next time hombre :)
Purpose Built Moto apologies for the blunt question, I like the 3 button setup, but can I get the push buttons in black rather than chrome ?
Aditya Venkatraman no problem mate, we all do it!
My buttons are only available in raw stainless steel. The reason is The black powder coated ones I worry will wear off and look ugly.
Purpose Built Moto I understand that, and am willing to take that chance, coz the build I am looking at is an all black setup, no chrome, and this is perfect in all aspects, if you could do one for me, I would appreciate it, the button as well as the housing in all black, matt
Hi Mate,
Sorry but we don't do special orders like that. If you want the switches, you can purchase them and swap the buttons out
Apparently, you’ve never had to have solder cut out of your eye it’s very painful to get solder out of your eye! Best to buy some safety glasses, just saying
oh no ... video ended haha. I dont know where the end of the cables are heading :)

oh yeah ? good note
