Here it is! ❤️ Song is about a man who is regretting that his life has been wasted, life was simple and beautiful when he was child. As he grew up society made him into something his not proud of. (The second meaning is we came to this world with a temporary body.) At first you get the original version of Ma lo ma, sung by the legend Arif Dewan himself with a simple baul setup. The way a baul starts a song in rural village. We warmup the team with the sample of Chadpetano Gaan singing lines of a behula-lakkhindar song. Sagor comes in sings Malo ma on his own Ghazal folk fusion way, We shift to original chadpetano Gaan team with a bit of break down mode. Ali kicks in immediately with humor and makes fun of the guy (shagor dewan) complaining about life, he shares the opposite philosophy of enjoying the journey of life as you go. As Ali rolls he slowly shifts into very simple yet deep conversion, pay close attention to his lines and you’ll get the grip. After Ali Again we go back to Arif bhai, Sagor comes again this time he talks about his preset and we finish combining all the member of band. If you look close enough you’ll see director Adnan Al Rajeev bhai brilliantly designed the set with the “circle of life” In mind. We born, we grow up, we go through the ups and downs of life and we all go back to our creator. Ali and Shagor represents the two persona I have in my personal life. I love doing a lot of things but before everything I’m known as a music composer. Enjoy this song as I have enjoyed pulling strings from the back. Copied from Pritom Hasan's wall and this is the original meaning of this song 🎵

Explain: Main thing is that, When we born we didn't know about this earth what we should do, but we we were child our mother taken care of us so good. That's why he singing that time was better when we were child. After we grown man we can understand the Earth not so good as when we were child. And lastly we know that we have to leave this earth because we gating old and every man will turn dust some day.. we will die .. The metaphor of broken boat is our life ... We have to do hard work to live in this world. So we have to do good thing that world can remember we after our death second life will decide by our this life . It is a song about physiology. People grow up slowly. Wants to understand life out of mother's lap. Once youth comes to the body. Then old age. The story of "Behula Laxinder" is added to the lyrics of this song. In the song, the broken boat represents life and the Ganges represents the world and time. Rabindranath Tagore's Sonar Tari poem and this song are somewhat similar.

Two members of the Dewan family: Sagar Dewan and Arif Dewan. Their ancestor is the original composer of the song Ma Lo Ma Zhi Lo Zhi. The song Ma Lo Ma teaches us that life is a continuous journey. Growing up and nostalgia are inevitably two sides of the same coin. Acknowledging this inevitable change, the song proceeds like a conversation. Here life is represented by the analogy of a broken boat and the world is represented by a river. The addition of 'Chaad Petano Song' (it means, hit the Roof-top by rhythmic sound) adds depth to this song. This genre of folk music 'sari song' started during the Mughal period. An urban version of this song can be found among the Masons of the eighties and nineties. These workers, who migrated to the city for livelihood, used to sing such songs while making concrete roofs. The lyrics combined with the pounding rhythm of the song create a festive atmosphere during work while also banishing boredom. 'Ma Lo Ma' is not just a song. Audiences of all ages can relate to this song. The song reminds everyone of the beauty that lies in the journey of self-acceptance and growth.
I think there has a confusion in the explanation. This song is not based on stuggling in cities... This song is about a man's life. How they grown up. How they living the state of there life. What I love about Bangladeshi music is that it incorporates a lot of deep rooted village folk music alongside modern musical sounds so that it caters for the older generation of Bengali folks who are traditionalist and grew up listening to folk songs and for the younger generation of Bengali folks who enjoy modern music so that way just by virtue of this, it brings the two generations together. Coke studio Bangla also invites and welcomed non Bangladeshis who simply love the language of music and are open minded such as yourself to appreciate the efforts of Coke Studio Bangla and their diverse use of amalgamating different musical concepts together. Thank you for your lovely reaction.

Hello dear judwass bro, take love from Bangladesh. In this song, it’s the struggle of life, in a vast meaning. Not actually any newcomer in city. Life is always a struggle. childhood is so beautiful but when we grow up, life become the other name of struggle. 'Rang e vanga nouka baite ailam ' means i came to lead a cheerful life without knowing the depth of this struggle in this world. Wanted to grow up early but when i grow up then it seems i am in danger. Then i cried out ' ma lo ma, jhi lo jhi ( jhi means daughter not aunty) where i came! The river (time) is too tough to drive😁 the nouka(our life). When we grows more, in old age our body parts want to leave the struggle.. Then man look behind and see what they acquires. This is sagor and arif dewan's part's meaning. Saree gaan : you know the story of behula lokhindar. A snake bite lokhindar in his wedding night and behula tried to save his life. It’s that. You two brothers r great. Thanks for watching Bangladeshi Music video. 💝
Wow, it makes me so happy to see you guys loving and enjoying so much! This is exactly what reaction videos are all about - connecting with the music and expressing own feelings. And speaking of connection, Pritom Hasan absolutely crushed it with this track. It's a masterpiece. On loop!

"Ma Lo Ma," a standout piece from Coke Studio Bangla's third season, is an enchanting blend of traditional Bangladeshi folk music and contemporary elements. This song is divided into three distinct parts, each adding depth to its rich, layered narrative. The first part draws from the "Chaad Petano Gan" (Manual Roof Levelling Song) tradition, a rhythmic style sung by mason workers. Initially, the sound is kind of distorted to give the impression that it is coming from an 80s-90s CRT television, enhancing its nostalgic feel. This segment provides a grounding beat, anchoring the song in its cultural roots without direct lyrical connection to the other parts. The second part features the original "Ma Lo Ma Jhi Lo Jhi" song, performed by two brothers from the Dewan family. One brother delivers the song in a modern style, while the elder brother adheres to its traditional musical form. The lyrics explore the profound realization that life’s journey is akin to navigating the dualities of adulthood and nostalgia, ultimately reminding us that this journey will end one day, and everyone will turn to dust. The third part introduces a contemporary twist with Aly Hasan’s rap, which acts as a response to the Dewan brothers' segment. His rap addresses everyday struggles like cooking food and dealing with life’s challenges, symbolizing the effort required to sustain life. By mentioning a leaking boat and its destination, the rap underscores life’s difficulties and the importance of resilience and preparedness. Hasan elaborates that at the end of our journey, only our good deeds will accompany us. The three parts of this song are presented by Pritom, using modern contemporary instruments and music styles, creating a seamless blend of tradition and innovation. The set design is rich with symbolism, complementing the song's themes. Buildings and roads represent the journey of life, blending tradition and modernity. People walking vertically against windows symbolize unconventional paths and struggles, while puppets controlled by others reflect the lack of control and societal pressures individuals face. These visual elements enhance the song’s message about navigating life’s journey, facing challenges, and striving for self-acceptance and growth. "Ma Lo Ma" transcends being just a song; it is an artistic tapestry of life's complexities, masterfully weaving together the past and the present to create a timeless narrative that resonates deeply with listeners of all ages.
Another amazing song performance of Coke Studio Bangla Season 3 that will make the viewers and listeners think! I also sincerely thank all the staff of Coke Studio Bangla. They are showing one surprise after another!!
The song is more than the vibe of the beat and music, the lyrics have very deep meaning,3 songs combined it fulfills the composition, and the chad petano lyrics doesn’t actually about the love story of behula lakkhindar(lokhai), yes the main story has that love story but the lines in the lyrics says about how lakkhindar got bitten by snake( the goddess of snake, Maa Monosa) Lines also mention about Ma Kaali and Ma monosa both) Simply brilliant, Also Ma lo ma song is owned by the Dewan family as far as i know,
It’s amazing seeing both of you enjoying this song to the utmost! And kudos to both of you for your appreciation of Bangla folk culture and music! Khub bhalo laaglo!
I think the core idea of the song is telling the way of life. When we are kids we don't have responsibility and live as is it but then when we are adult we have to do many things in a broken boat. The boat signifies a challenging world in which everyone goes through in the way of life. Everyone has their own path in this boat and they must bring the good deeds to the next life.
Hahaha, great review. It’s true the song has multi layer meanings.
Loved seeing you guys on the set. Cheers! ❤🎉

Well explain guys.... too good . Without your review there is no fun. God bless you guys. See you next time when you come to Bangladesh In Sha Allah.
Pritom Hasan's remarkable musical talent shines through in every note of "Ma Lo Ma."✨ His mastery of melody and rhythm is truly captivating. ❤

People who are confused about the concept of this song
People used to do this "chaad pitano" before to construct the "jolchad" which is the roof made with limestone. Labour used to sing those song and some slang to motivate the labors because it was a very difficult job to do.

Was waiting for you guys!!❤❤
Main thing is that, When we born we didn't know about this earth what we should do, but we we were child our mother taken care of us so good.
If we do good thing we will have good life if we do bad thing we will have bad life... And God will punish us.. ❤❤
That's all about..
Hey guys - Just wanted to give you guys kudos/props for learning (and speaking) so much about the background of the songs. For most people, even newer generations in Bangladesh, there is little or no knowledge of this stuff and you guys taking on the task of explaining all this is amazing. Always look forward to your reviews! Keep up the great work!

LOVE From Bangladesh.. ❤️🇧🇩❤️

Itna Khushi milraha hai yeh pehli bar dekraha hu masterpiece ❤
Not "sayri" dear.. Its "sari"
Recheck.. They correctly sounded sari
The song is more than the vibe of the beat and music, the lyrics have very deep meaning,3 songs combined it fulfills the composition,
and the chad petano lyrics doesn’t actually about the love story of behula lakkhindar(lokhai), yes the main story has that love story but the lines in the lyrics says about how lakkhindar got bitten by snake( the goddess of snake, Maa Monosa)
Lines also mention about Ma Kaali and Ma monosa both)
Simply brilliant,
Also Ma lo ma song is owned by the Dewan family as far as i know,

beautiful song and nice presentation love you from Bangladesh 😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
I think the core idea of the song is telling the way of life. When we are kids we don't have responsibility and live as is it but then when we are adult we have to do many things in a broken boat. The boat signifies a challenging world in which everyone goes through in the way of life. Everyone has their own path in this boat and they must bring the good deeds to the next life.
Best wishes 🎉 from bangladesh 🇧🇩
