It is a song about physiology. People grow up slowly. Wants to understand life out of mother's lap. Once youth comes to the body. Then old age. The story of "Behula Laxinder" is added to the lyrics of this song. In the song, the broken boat represents life and the Ganges represents the world and time. Rabindranath Tagore's Sonar Tari poem and this song are somewhat similar.

Song is about a man who is regretting that his life has been wasted, life was simple and beautiful when he was child. As he grew up society made him into something his not proud of.
(The second meaning is we came to this world with a temporary body.)
At first you get the original version of Ma lo ma, sung by the legend Arif Dewan himself with a simple baul setup. The way a baul starts a song in rural village.
We warmup the team with the sample of Chadpetano Gaan singing lines of a behula-lakkhindar song.
Sagor comes in sings Malo ma on his own Ghazal folk fusion way,
We shift to original chadpetano Gaan team with a bit of break down mode.
Ali kicks in immediately with humor and makes fun of the guy (shagor dewan) complaining about life, he shares the opposite philosophy of enjoying the journey of life as you go. As Ali rolls he slowly shifts into very simple yet deep conversion, pay close attention to his lines and you’ll get the grip.
After Ali Again we go back to Arif bhai,
Sagor comes again this time he talks about his preset and we finish combining all the member of band.
If you look close enough you’ll see director Adnan Al Rajeev bhai brilliantly designed the set with the “circle of life” In mind.
We born, we grow up, we go through the ups and downs of life and we all go back to our creator.
Ali and Shagor represents the two persona I have in my personal life.
I love doing a lot of things but before everything I’m known as a music composer.

Two members of the Dewan family: Sagar Dewan and Arif Dewan. Their ancestor is the original composer of the song Ma Lo Ma Zhi Lo Zhi. The song Ma Lo Ma teaches us that life is a continuous journey. Growing up and nostalgia are inevitably two sides of the same coin. Acknowledging this inevitable change, the song proceeds like a conversation. Here life is represented by the analogy of a broken boat and the world is represented by a river.
The addition of 'Chaad Petano Song' (it means, hit the Roof-top by rhythmic sound) adds depth to this song. This genre of folk music 'sari song' started during the Mughal period. An urban version of this song can be found among the Masons of the eighties and nineties. These workers, who migrated to the city for livelihood, used to sing such songs while making concrete roofs. The lyrics combined with the pounding rhythm of the song create a festive atmosphere during work while also banishing boredom. 'Ma Lo Ma' is not just a song. Audiences of all ages can relate to this song.
The song reminds everyone of the beauty that lies in the journey of self-acceptance and growth.

What I love about Bangladeshi music is that it incorporates a lot of deep rooted village folk music alongside modern musical sounds so that it caters for the older generation of Bengali folks who are traditionalist and grew up listening to folk songs and for the younger generation of Bengali folks who enjoy modern music so that way just by virtue of this, it brings the two generations together. People who are confused about the concept of this song
People used to do this "chaad pitano" before to construct the "jolchad" which is the roof made with limestone. Labour used to sing those song and some slang to motivate the labors because it was a very difficult job to do.
