I have had great luck with the "Hoppy 10" Bearclaw" ice scraper on ice covered windshields. I do have to replace them every couple years, because the plastic blade does get wore down. I will never use the steel blade ice scrapers again. Those wrecked my windshield!

In milder climates a soft wash brush gets the job done.
If its plastic it will break no matter what make the body out of copper and aluminum teeth and scraper. Then come talk to me.
