You guys are amazing! You make me see my country and it's amazingness all over again. You're not wrong. It's grand as Glen would say. Our tourism industry could not pay you enough for how much you truly showcase our unbelievably beautiful and welcoming our country. So sad I am always just a few paces behind where you have been and have not been able to meet up with you guys. Thank you so much for taking me on your journey and inspiring me to retrace mine.
Love your channel. You guys are just so happy positive and grateful. Felt like I was exploring the boat with you both! Have a great time in the North Island!
I have been on the ferries in some rough weather, an exciting trip :). Glad you had such an awesome time in the South Island and shared this with us. Many memories and even though you have already left the country this is a great way to let you slip from our shores. Can't wait to see your vlogs on the Pacific Islands.
Some years ago I went on an Interislander trip. During the trip you could hear cheers going up in the bar, along with the sound of smashing glass. It was rough, 6+ metre swells. Apparently the cheers weren't for the glasses sliding off the tables and breaking, but when people were vomiting due to sea sickness. Like I said, it was rough.
Haha we enjoyed every moment! Basically lots and lots of of New Zealand videos left! Also Pacific islands was abit of a disaster but we got a few videos made anyways! 😂 Mado was unwell for most of the trip and flights were all cancelled
The glorious landscapes of Wellington is the architecture of geological faults. From Wrights Hill looking towards Petone you can see along the Wellington Fault with ranges lifting on the left and under water seabed sinking on the right. Aotearoa is wobbly, wobbly isles means dramatic landscapes. Just make sure your six grand 8k tv is tied down.
Great video. For anyone else getting the ferry I suggest booking a cabin if you can. Has you get a couple of beds and your own bathroom. Honestly I find it to alot better if you cope that well with sea sickness
I do like a smooth crossing but funniest was when everyone had to stay seated and crew rushing on wobbly floors trying to get sick bags to people who put their hands up.
Tom Rosenthal, “this road is long”. That’s how I feel knowing you’re leaving us. Take care guys. I’ve really enjoyed seeing my country through your eyes. Thank you for showing me adventures I’ll probably never see myself. I’ll keep tuned in for your next adventures 😍.
Should let them know about your camping gas canisters - they make sure they are disconnected from the stove, and usually park vehicles with gas in a certain area on the ferry in case of leaks.
I have enjoyed following your journey around our country and I was fortunate to have been able to film on the Interislander ferries during their 50th celebrations in 2012 and here is combined film of the four that I did including a behind the scenes, and if you are at all interested in finding out more about the Interislander ferries, feel free to take a look: ua-cam.com/video/9H3_jKOf5BU/v-deo.html
It is a nice ferry trip but even as a Kiwi I say there are way more beautiful ferry trips out in the world. My top of the list is the inside passage in British Columbia up to Prince Rupert and the passage further up to Alaska. In Southern Chile, there are some spectacular ones too.
I feel you! There definitely is and it’s kinda clickbait also 😂 you’re totally right though. There’s some insanely beautiful ferry trips in other parts of the world!
Hi Glen and Mado. There seems to be a delay between filming and posting of your videos, so I hope I have caught you still in the country. If you are, I have an idea for a trip north of Auckland which could take two or four days depending on your schedule. If you are interested just let me know and I will type out an itinerary for you Leslie
@@GlenAndMado I've had it booked for ages but I keep getting too busy to go and have to reschedule. I'll get there ... some time this year ... hopefully

It's been a few years but the memories of taking this trip every 2 years with the kids to visit family in the South Island just warms my heart.
We hope it brings back some special memories ♥️🙌

Yay Glen and Mado + Mado and Glen. Lived on Cuba street in the early 1990s. Studio flats were $55-$100 a week lol.

I was thinking the same as this ride reminded me of being in Puget Sound, BC. or going over to Vancouver Island.
No ones saying it’s best in world ! Save the kiwi cringe, all about getting from A to B this one,not a “ scenic route” trip..
I did enjoy it.
