- This video goes through vent sizing examples using tables C.3 and C.4 from the B149.1 Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code. (CSA Canada)
It also discusses GVR C.2.16
Waiting to write my G2 through this whole pandemic, thanks for keeping things fresh with the solid videos!
Very clear and helpful 👍
literally HE IS AWESOME!
What if the boiler was 75000btu, would you use 3 or 4 inch? That would be abouve th max for 3" but below the min for 4". Is there a rule ofvthumb for this?
C.2.16 maybe to use the smaller size?
As you have identified, using a single wall vent connector does not fit within the table C.4 values, therefore, you cannot do it.
You would need to go to a double wall vent connector for the boiler and use Table C.3 instead.
There is rule of thumb (ROT) vent sizing method and a table sizing method. They are two different methods. You will need to know the size of the flue collar of the boiler to use the ROT method. I do have a video series for ROT: ua-cam.com/video/96qwE8EQUsQ/v-deo.html
