My TOP 10 SLEEPERS of ALL TIME!

- Since there's no events taking place this month I've gone back through my archives once again and picked out my favourite sleepers that I've filmed over the years, this video is in no particular order but showcases my Top 10.
There's a varied mix including Stephen Xuereb's Mk2 Escort & Darren Scannell's Mk1 Escort that both look like they should belong in the Show & Shine paddock but smash out 9 second 1/4 miles with ease to Ian's completely stock looking 1964 Rover P4 powered by a Big Block Ford!
Disclaimer - This is my personal opinion and only features cars I've seen and filmed in person, I know there's 100s of epic sleepers out there especially in the States but I have never been to a drag strip there!

They’re all fantastic machines but the Rover does it for me, You’d have to look bloody hard to see any change in appearance from a bog standard one...superb vid !
There a several Rover P4's running around on Her Majesty's Highways with the Rover V8 motor in them
I love the aerodynamics of the pony ute, Tailgate down🤘 very Aussie 🇦🇺 🇬🇧
And the way the P4 lifts up her skirt and trounced the Bentley was beautiful.
The way the old Rover P4 wasted the Bentley Conti' was epic!!😆😆
That Boba Golf crossed onto the other track and back again and still did a 12 odd second quarter haha! That thing is insane, 8 odd second quarters in a MK2 Golf is mental!
I wince for that driveline, but it takes the punishment every time.
@@althejazzman it is crazy seeing just how quick it gets off the line. That Vampyr GTI was another mad creation too, there's some great clips of that out on public roads. Just imagine tearing down the autobahn in a Lambo or Ferrari and being overtaken by an old Golf!

@@althejazzman it is one hell of a car and surely the best sleeper of all time. It must be terrifying flooring the accelerator as it weaves off down the road at an insane rate! The driver must have balls of steel haha!

Gotta be the brown Sierra Estate for me - steel wheels, mudflaps, base spec lights and grill, grimey without being too ratty.... perfection!

5:52 The Rover vs a Bentley Continental might be the most British drag race ever. That Bentley looks pretty stock and still ran a 13.9, that's ridiculous considering it weighs about the same as a small container ship.
The rover can certainly shift and as you say what a race ( all classic British drag race ) ✌🏻

There were some amazing cars in there, I did like the Nova but escorts will always be my favourite car especially that MK 2

My favorite came down to between the Auntie Rover and the Chevy Nova wagon. I've always wanted to build a wagon like that, then graphics on the sides "Shhh.... Don't tell mom!"
12 second Rover was fun to watch.
40 odd years ago we had an Austin A90 travel over for the street drags. 12.2 being gentle on the standard diff off the line. 454LS7 Chev!

All fantastic cars. Love a sleeper. Highlights were the 1200bhp, Golf the Mk 2 Cortina and Chevy Nova estates and the Rover P4 tops the list.
The only car that actually don't belong in this list was the chevy nova wagon

Right sleepers, my fav sleeper car has to be any older volvo, they look like bricks, you can almost swap any engine in it, lots of tuning capabilites and overall a nice brick (the videos u upload tbh cure my depression even though im late sometimes)

Love the Rover....I actually owned a Rover 80 same colour......it had the Landrover Benzine/petrol/gas engine......my intention was to swap it not for some monster engine but for the Landrover Diesel......but work overseas intevened.
In my day we had Steve green and (before the stripes) Ron kidell.
And there use to be a couple of brothers in the early 80's at the run way u brung,that ran a couple of 60's Austin's I think??

The wide tyres and stance still give them away, even tho the Hyundai was the cosest then boba,you wouldn't tell the rover will overtake the Bentley.

Neither of the Escorts, the Cortina or the Caddy qualify as sleepers.
The Caddys all look like that and usually belch out diesel soot bombs being the only difference to here 😝

Now honestly, you have to be just a little bit sadistic to build a Sleeper car.
I mean, the Supercar drivers deserve it, but the Muscle Car guys should be given a warning first.
