the buddha theory is super interesting because enlightenment doesnt necessarily mean a power up. i think that its absolutely possible that gojos enlightenment could be him giving up the six eyes, helping yuji finish off sukuna, and then learning how to live as satoru gojo and not "the strongest". maybe even making the six eyes completely disappear just like the other 2 aspects of the trio of kenjaku, tengen, and the six eyes users.
Also the fact that the Buddha actually lets go of worldly attachments in order to become enlightened. Would be fitting if Gojo also gives up his title as "the strongest" in exchange for a different form of growth.
