I love reading shorter horror books and I like reading short books in general.🖤 One of my favorite short horror books is Sealed by Naomi Booth, it has really disturbing body horror.
I have Fangs on my wishlist! I'm still yet to read a T. Kingfisher book, what moves the dead sounds right up my ally! Maggie's Grave i'm extremely intrigued! I have Frankenstein on my TBR for next year!!
Yes!! Fangs is super fast and just the cutest. What moves the dead is a great intro to t. Kingfisher😊 and cant wait to hear your thoughts on Frankenstein!!
Omg I prefer short books so I'm stoked for this video!! Awww fangs sounds so cute!! Eric larocca is MY FAVE! 😍😍 the best cover by far "The shorter the more disgusting a book will be" omg that's so true. I never thought about it before but you're totally right Yaaaay Foe!!!! 😍😍😍
i knoooow!! i am a fan of long ones but that video will come out next year haha Foe was such a great discovery (i do have to admit that i only read it because i heard you talking about it hahaha)
Short books are not my jam, but if they are done right they can be amazing! I'm ready for these recs!!! 🥳 Fangs sounds cozy! Eric LaRocca is an author I need to pick up. Reception sounds intriguing. 🧐 Our Wives Under the Sea is one that I've had on my radar. Maggies Grave is on my TBR and I keep not picking it up! I need to get to it! I need to read more Shirley Jackson. I just recently read We Have Always Lived in the Castle. YES!! So excited for long horror recommendations!
I like short horror books because the good ones quickly stir your sense of unease, make an impact and leave you thinking about the story. Longer horror has a harder job, with me, because that sense of fear or dread is hard to keep up for a long time. That said, I'm looking forward to your longer recommendations. Foe and Maggies Grave sound very interesting, and so does Carcoma, but I'll have to wait for the English translation, so thanks for highlighting these. Body horror isn't usually for me, but I loved Tender is the Flesh. The exploration of people's selfishness was really well done. I think I've said this before, but Dark Matter by Michelle Paver (280 pages) is the most atmospheric horror book I've read. I also liked, but didn't love, Come Forth in Thaw by Jayson Robert Ducharme, which did a lot in its 110 pages.
100% agree with what you said! I think that's what makes me appreciate horror books more now, the art behind it is insane! Carcoma is really good and I cannot wait for all of you to read it when it's out in english!! I have Dark Matter in my TBR (Thanks to you!) and ill definitely read it next year!! (too many books to read before the year ends haha) but thanks so much for all your recs and comments!! they are always a pleasure to read.
Oooh the blue top with the white wall >>>>> A lovely description of Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke. I absolutely have to read it now! Omg What Moves the Dead same thing! That cover is sooooo stunning Tender is the Flesh sounds sooo good but idk if my little sensitive heart can take it at this point. Adding it to my TBR nevertheless lol.
Okayyy so I added SEVEN of these to my horror tbr and I am now wanting to make a vlog solely reading books that Books with Tofocudo recommended, idk when ill get to do it but would that be okay with you? Or weird? 😂 lmk either way!
I actually started listening to the audiobook but didnt really vibe with it then decided to switch to ebook and never continued🤣 thanks for the reminder
I love Fangs!! It had no business being that cute!! THGWSWLS Was so disturbing but I rated it 5 stars 😅 I am scarred for life Yes I loved Tender is the Flesh! So twisted 👏. I am not sure why so many people where shocked by the very end! I felt like it was coming all along. How did you feel about the final twist? 👀 I need to read Our Wives Under the Sea. I am afraid it will destroy me 😂😬 Yas I just got Chlorine from the library book sale!! Can't wait to read it
Hahaha same for THGWSWLS it was a 5 for me just because of how 🤮 it was And i LOVED the ending of tender is the flesh, very on brand and it fit the mood.of the book to perfection. Our wives under the sea is sad but "tolerable" sad. And yes read chlorine bestie its masterpiece😍

One book you may check out for longer horror is The Dead Take the A Train. It is the start of a series. I rated it 4 stars.
