@@Samiamd663 Once you're in a ditch, proper tow hooks might be a desirable tech feature even though they aren't in the same ball park as twin turbos or a hybrid battery pack.
I find it very hard to justify something like this when you can get a 7 or 8 seat layout Subaru ascent for half that and still have 8.7 inches of ground clearance and reasonable off road ability (for what something with this long a wheelbase is capable of)
Like a Land Cruiser or LX, once the off-road vehicle goes above $60k you don't want to risk taking it off-road and damaging it. I would spend the $77k on a used 2000s GX for off-roading and a regular car or SUV for driving with today's oil prices.
Just get new Volvo VNL 860 for 215k. Next is Sequoia and than toy haulers RV with Polaris. If market go up then maybe wait for electric heavy duty RAM, 5th wheel RV toy haulers and Polaris
It needs an additional 5° of approach and departure angles and be another inch taller if they want it to be taken seriously from the factory. The rear locker is great but this thing is disappointing overall in it's off-road worthiness. It looks tough but I would seriously hesitate to take in overlanding.
Toyota missed a golden opportunity by not making a front locker and the new E-KDSS at least an option. LC300 GR-Sport has much more flex than either this or the Tundra. Fix the chin (and add recovery points) & ass on both, and they have a veritable Silverado ZR2 competitor in the Tundra, and this Sequoia would demolish the Tahoe Z71/Expedition Timberline

It is marketing. The image of a go anywhere vehicle.
if you need the room/space in vehicle... that's a big NO. you are basically paying more for less of a vehicle. was waiting for this vehicle but not don't think it's a lil too small now (coming from 21 trd pro).
Does it have a fridge like the old one?
Andre, Roman, are you guys gonna get one?
You guys should see how it fares against Tommy’s Willy’s offroad.
“But they’re not even in the same category!”
Anything that claims off-road prowess should be put to the test
I’m sure it’s much nicer on the road but nothing touches the Wrangler off-road.
Price is not justified but I would buy a pro trim just for the resale value and cool looks. My ideal spec would be a limited with TRD OR package (so I can get the 8th seat) and get the factory TRD lift for 35s.
It's 583lbs ft of torque. Get it right Andre!!!
Is this going to be available without a 3rd row?
Who is this vehicle for?
$12,000 cheaper than my LC200, and it is pretty sweet. 👌 unfortunately missing that big V8 🤔
Can someone tell me the off-road park they are at? Cheers max
If they made the Sequoia a Two Row and a tad bit shorter, would be awesome. In other words, a 4Runner with this frame architecture and V6 TT Hybrid. Maybe the new Tacoma means a new 4Runner or FJ in the future.
Give it another 5 years for a new 4runner
Looks like it's worth 90k to me and I'll gladly pay it
There's a sucker born everyday...
It's like a big orange Hotwheels come to life. It's worth 77k to someone for sure, especially with the nutso prices of vehicles today.
You guys should put the trd sequoia against the Chevy Tahoe z71 and ford expedition timberline that will be so interesting to see
Not being able to remove the 3rd row really sucks.
Cool truck! Maybe I’ll get one in 15 years when it’s in my budget
I would love to see you compare this to the Nissan Armada. I see virtually no coverage of this vehicle on this channel.
The NIssan Armada needs an update, they haven’t changed it in forever
Because the Nissan Armada is not relevant in this day and age
I really like the new design of the Sequoia but $80k is too much for myself.
WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love everything about this car except the price. -_- Come on Toyota, keep it affordable for the masses. Prices are in luxury cars territory.
Thats because this is the luxury sport version.. i bet the base models start around 60k
$77K is similar to competition like Tahoe, Yukon top trims. I always tell myself that if I can’t afford it in cash, I can’t afford it.
It’s priced $5k-$8k too high.
Most people buy sequoias for family transport vehicles. I hope their base sr5 is more reasonable.
About 58-61k
Beautiful truck but i can’t get passed the artificial engine noise pumped into the cabin through the stereo, its a bit over done.
Estimated MPG
19 city
22 combined
24 highway
Thats horrible mpg
By the time it gets to dealerships it’s going to be worth at least $90k
Not to me.
It'll COST but not be worth.
How much tech and complexity does a driver need to go off road?
Don’t need anything to go off road. It’s getting back onto the road usually that’s the issue 😂
@@Samiamd663 Once you're in a ditch, proper tow hooks might be a desirable tech feature even though they aren't in the same ball park as twin turbos or a hybrid battery pack.
You do a great job!
I find it very hard to justify something like this when you can get a 7 or 8 seat layout Subaru ascent for half that and still have 8.7 inches of ground clearance and reasonable off road ability (for what something with this long a wheelbase is capable of)
If you don’t have a boat or something to tow then obviously get your Subaru. It’s all about what kind of car you need
Is Tumbleweed Ranch going to get a high speed track?
Looks great! I will look forward to buying a used 2023 base model in 2025.
“Market adjustments” will push me away from buying. Toyota watch your dealers carefully.
I still don’t understand why Toyota doesn’t offer a LWB version
It's actually 583 lb-of torque.
Not on the TRD Pro but. Like the tundra will they offer the factor lift kit 🤷🏿♂️
Like a Land Cruiser or LX, once the off-road vehicle goes above $60k you don't want to risk taking it off-road and damaging it. I would spend the $77k on a used 2000s GX for off-roading and a regular car or SUV for driving with today's oil prices.
Tell that to the Middle East. They'll thrash a brand new LX.
TFL, should I keep my ‘18 SR5 with only 44k miles or should trade? I have the leather and “tech” package. We love it! Any thoughts?
Nice ride!
Fix the chin (and add recovery points) & ass on both, and they have a veritable Silverado ZR2 competitor in the Tundra, and this Sequoia would demolish the Tahoe Z71/Expedition Timberline
really
With prices like these the car manufacturers deserve to go belly up without a bailout. I'd love to know the mark up on these ridiculously priced vehicles...
