Thank you for this video sequence. I had all the issues and replaced the ignition cylinder and switch and the BCM but, when I did the reset sequence it wasn't staying set. Doing the previous steps to drain the power and reset the pcm was the fix it needed before relearning after the bcm replacement.

Mmmm 🤔 it can be the bcm , but they need to flash it to your vin # and then you do the relearn

I really hope you're still responding to comments, I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.8 and I went to pick my daughter up from school last week and I didnt notice until I was about halfway there that I had nothing in my dash cluster. My speedometer wasnt registering, gas, rpm everything including the air conditioning but it was running fine so I just picked my daughter up and drove home and backed in my driveway because I had to load tools and equipment for a job I had scheduled. I got everything loaded and jumped in the truck to head to the jobsite and I got nothing. No crank no start, it was like your first video. When I turned the key to start it the dash would go dark but as soon as I stopped turning the key to start it all my lights and dash came back. I automatically assumed it was my starter because I just bought the battery less than a year ago and I checked it with a meter and it was 11.3 I want to say. So I bought the $200 starter and put it on because I had a customer waiting on me and after the new starter it did the same thing, I checked the fuses I thought were relevant and all the ones I checked were good so I bypassed the starter relay to make sure the engine would crank and it did crank after I bypassed the starter relay but it was like it wasnt getting any spark or maybe wasnt getting fuel idk but I bought a code reader and it says no communication so I'm stuck man
Wow sorry to hear that , so question is the remote still working to lock the door? Also have you try what I did on my first video just to get it to start , I think you have a bad BCM just like this one
@@nestorautorepair My remote works on my door locks, sometimes I have to hit the button more than once but the truck responds to it. I'm planning on trying what you did in the first video tomorrow

@@nestorautorepair I did everything you did in the first video and went to start it and the only thing that is different now is when I try to crank the key the lights on the dash stay on like they should. In your first video when you crank the key your lights in the dash go out until you stop trying to start it and thats exactly what mine was doing. I checked my voltage on my battery an I have 12.08 so I know its not my battery and I hear my fuel pump priming and I know when I bypass the starter relay the starter cranks so I really dont know what the next step would be in narrowing this down. If you have any suggestions I would be forever grateful because as it is right now everyday I cant start it is a day I'm missing out on work. Do you possibly know the sequence that the truck gives power to things so I could track down where I'm not getting power possibly?

2005 Silverado 1500. Truck wont start. Lots of overall signs pointing to BCM, such as power door locks and windows no longer working, radio wont come on, and battery keeps draining. Computer tells me I have the P1626 code. Which is the anti-theft deterrent thing where it tells the engine to not provide fuel. However, my security light is not on in my dash. Do you recommend replacing the BCM even tho I don't have that light on? Thanks for any help!
This randomly seems to be my issue . I drove it three weeks ago parked it then out a new headlight bulb in and went to start it next day and no key fob wouldn’t work , the battery was flat dead . So I got a new battery cuz charging it did nothing it was dead. Then after new batt install the dash lights won’t work , p,r,n,d wouldn’t light up , gas gauge, voltage ect won’t move or light up and AB’s ,check engine and stability track light stay on . No crank ,click nothing ! I noticed your dash lights do turn on and ur gas gauge does work . So do I need to do a relearn or something because my battery drained completely dead ? Or am I looking at a BCM also ? Your video is really helpfull. I am about to install a new alternator because why would my battery have drained dead from a BCM ?

My Suburban interior lights wont shut off, rear glass keeps popping open, stabilitrak light comes on sometimes, weird stuff like that
Ohhh ok this will not fix non of that ,, this truck just didn't crank at all ,, so it sound like you are having a ground problem or more likely you have some wires touching each other some where check under the truck also by the fire wall rats and squirrel like to make nest back there and use the wires to save them a trip ,, hope this help
That's not true the bcm can cause those issues as well. It controls 90% of the interior. Lighting, dimmer switches, horns, trunk release, etc. This was your fix but it's also the fix for there vehicles as well because the one I have has your issues intermittently and has his symptoms plus my dimmer switch. When I turn the lights to the top turns my truck off and engages the security light lmao 🤣 or if my security light is on I flip the switch a few times then the security light MIGHT cut off and let me turn it on. Bcm fixed ALL my issues
thanks for help Nestor! I just replaced the BCM for a used one, just like you did. No security light came up, it starts... But no electrical accessories are working and it says "Theft Lock" on the radio display. Any clue? I did reset and unpluged the pin plugs and battery eveything also. I'm kinda scared I'm gonna have to put the old BCM back in, damnit!

Ive tried everything so far mine doesnt start or crank and stuck with the padlock icon. Ive tried just about everything except for changing the bcm. Also my keyfob doesnt lock and unlock anymore like they used too both are synced to the truck and have good batteries. Do you think those are signs of bad bcm?

I have a problem with my command start when it gets real cold. Although the truck gets plugged in it will not start with command start. When I go to the truck and use the key it starts right away but all my heater and radio settings go to default. Do you think this might be a BCM problem?

my 2007 Silverado had problem radio was on but no sound also windows in back not working...wife slammed door kinda hard and everything started working again...next morning went to start..got no crank situation...checked relays on power to 1 side of starter relay..no other blown fuses could be found ...replaced the started neutral switch,,nothing..replace ignition switch...nothing...replace ecu..nothing only thing left is bcm. truck will crank over when power is supplied to other side of relay so starter is good...how do i test for bad bcm?
I believe the BCM control the radio , make sure is not your alarm system ,, also if your truck has any aftermarket remote start alarm ?

if the replacement unit was pre programmed to your VIN, why the need to mess around to get it to start. If it recognized your VIN it should start first turn of the key. I picked up a used BCM with matching part number, NOT pre programmed to my VIN and this procedure didn't get it to couple with the ECM or start my Suburban.
Every euc new or use will need to program the key
I have an issue on 07 Chevy suburban 1500 LTZ I had it scanned n it said no communication and shop said I need a ecm. For 600.00 but it started off with no crank no start after I replaced ignition coils, starter, ignition relay switch and liftgate relay. Soo can u help. Cuz Do I replace bcm like u did in this video Plus where is my ecm located to my specific y r make n model. Google shows me nothing.

Will the bcm cause the rollover sensor to make the system disabled? Had my 08 Tahoe running with the remote start after 5 min it shut off and now no crank no start.
Oh more likely the fuse on the bypass for your alarm/ remote start is bad ,, or need to be reflash ,, by your steering column there is a wire that they cut when they put the system to the truck , open and fing this wire and attach it back to the other end witch is now going to a relay that they put on ,, if this is a aftermarket remote start , some come with factory remote starter

I have a 08 Cadillac Escalade ESV I bought it last year and September it had some codes when I bought it but I cleared them when I got home drove it around to see if I get any codes the only code I had was on the dash was service suspension and airbag and stability track it will come on every time I start driving for 5 minutes or when I turn a corner so I fix what needed to be fixed for now like I change the rotors brakes front tires spark plugs and wires change oil and filter in air filter switch the light bulbs too led I did the motor mount front and rear passenger door handles I fix the driver and passenger window switch by cleaning them out one side went up and the other side only goes down then I got a little crack in the windshield as I was bringing it home when I bought it it was a truck that had rocks coming flying out and hit my windshield and when the winter came and I went to warm up the car it crack all the way of course the windshield I replaced the windshield after a mouth and a half of me driving one day I went to the car wash in I notice water leaking from the sunroof onto the controls to to the sunroof then my rear seat started folding up by it self and doors start unlocking and locking then it will stop it did it for a couple of days but the sunroof still was working I know I have to clean out the drain tubes to the sunroom I just haven't done it yet then my sunroof stopped working so I bought a new sunroof motor I just haven't put it in yet then I noticed that every time I turn the music up it will break up so I went and got a ground wire to the firewall to the body by the alternator and I changed the battery to a die-hard then a week after that I was driving to the store and the truck cut off on me it will crank but wouldn't start so someone help me push it to the side and try to help me figure it out then I got it started but it will only go about 200 ft and cut off all the way until I got home I had to wait 5 or 10 minutes and cut it back on all the way home it cut off so then I use my scanner and it said fuel pump control module so I ordered a doorman plug and Play it was very hard to find and the light automatically went off the car started right up I didn't have no problems until a month later light came on saying fuel pump control module I'm like that's not true the car cranks and start so I cleared the code and later on it came back on again then one day I start the truck and it act like it was hesitating but it started but then everything started going crazy couldn't read the fuel gauges stuff start clicking underneath the steering wheel on and off like a relay the door started unlocking and locking then one day it wouldn't start I try reading the code and it was no communication to the code reader so I checked the cigarette lighter fuse it was fine then some days it will start but when I start to drive it it wouldn't go past first gear so I parked it then I seen something on UA-cam talking about unplug a green plug underneath the steering wheel so I did it and it started then I got communication to my scanner and it said fuel pump control module and BCM and TCM and a bunch of other codes so I cleared them and drove it around and all I got was fuel pump control module so I checked the wires check the connectors everything seemed fine then I check fuse box change some fuses out and put new ones in but every time I plug the green plug back in everything stopped going crazy again then I didn't get no start or no crank so I unplug the green plug and it starts so then I tried plugging it in while the car starts and one day it work the fuel pump control module light went off so I'll drove it around cuz I had to get inspection and then when I cut it off everything resets so it was hard for me to get inspection so I'll drove it around and then everything started going crazy again it went in limp mode it wouldn't go in second gear so I pulled over and unplugged it and started it back up clear the same codes no communication with engine control module no communication with body control module no communication with TCM and a new code throttle body sensor so I cleared them codes fixed the airbag sensor the connector to the fuel pump control module was cracked from the previous owner replace that pin by pin order a AC Delco fuel pump control module In put a suspension fuse in it was blown put a new one in clean the connector then I put a new throttle body in and have my friend relearning for me then I had appointment with the Cadillac dealer so I started to going to the dealership In I smelled something burning I checked by the gas tank cuz that's where I smelled it bye and looked underneath and I didn't see anything so I went to the dealership gave the fuel pump control module to them in they said they didn't need my truck they got a wire plugs that they can program so they told me come back in 30 minutes or they will call me when it's done then they called me in 30 minutes and ask me do they want them to put it in and I told him no I'll put it in when I get home then they said I have to drive 50 miles when I put it in I said okay I know so I did that and the car still wouldn't start so I unplugged the green wire and the car started and the code reader still said fuel pump control module so then I looked online and somebody said something about unplugging the suspension control module underneath the tire because that will mess with the fuel pump control module and if it start with the green plug in after you disconnected suspension control module than you need a new suspension control module and you have to get it programmed by the dealer so now I have to buy a suspensionl control module and connector and repin them then I bought a ECM I just haven't put it in yet it was programmed I just have to relearn it I changed the positive cable to the mega fuse to the fuse box and change the negative cable and cleaned all ground I changed the ground cable to the firewall I did that a month after I got the truck change the starter I change the negative cable the I went to unplug the active suspension module it was burnt up so that was the burning smell I was smelling it actually was kind of on fire my next move is ordering a BCM and I also noticed that my air ride module was cracked from rust in my rear shock had a leak do you know what could be the problem with this fuel pump control module keep popping up and it won't start unless I pull the green plug underneath the steering wheel

I watch a UA-cam video and one of the mechanic responded on a UA-cam video saying that I should unplug the ABS system and plug the green connector back in under the steering wheel so I did in the car started and the cold reader work so I need a new abs that will fix

Greetings, I'm going through the security lock system issues too on my 2003 GMC Yukon denali, so far I have changed the fuel pump, throttle body, and even tried doing a bypass using resistors, I'm not sure if I used the right resistors but I did the bypass and the reset process but still no start, and if it does start it idles high and shuts down.
Sound like you need to do a throttler relearn ,, I think you need a big scanner to be able to do this

Néstor tengo una 2013 Tahoe, la compré en subasta y la repare, el carro enciende y anda perfecto, pero algunas funciones básicas del interior no funcionan, como ser luces frontales altas y bajas, luces itermitentes, luz de vía derecha e izquierda, los limpia parabrisas frontales funcionan pero no tiran agua, no reconoce los sensores de tpms, la compuerta del maletero no abre ni el vidrio de la compuerta, el control de la llave no funciona no puedo abrirlo o cerrarlo desde afuera y el carro me descarga la batería de un día para otro aún quedando todo apagado
En resumen un amigo lo dianostico y me dijo que la bcm estaba defectuosa, compre una por internet me asegure que fuera el mismo número de parte, mismo color del cuadrito en este caso el de mi carro es cuadrito verde, los pines en fin todo igual, el BCM que compre es usado, bueno lo conectamos pero mejoro mucho pero ahora resulta que tiene estos problemas:
-Radio bloqueado
-La puerta del maletero no abre
-Los sensores de parqueo traseros ahora no funcionan
-el control de la llave no funciona
-las luces pide vía parpadean rápido
-sensores tpms no los reconoce
-descarga la batería de un día otro.
Lo que tengo entendido que para que el bcm que compre, funcione bien en el carro tiene que ser programado, pero mi pregunta es, si el bcm que compre y que requiere de programación una vez programado funcionará bien o tendré los mismo problemas...

Si la bcm no la mandaron programada es un gran problema no Todo funcionara , pero tengo entendido que usada no la puede programar con scanner , ya tiene que venir programada con tu vin#
@@nestorautorepair el carro no fue inundado, venía con un golpe en puertas derechas nada más, y no la bcm que compre no venía programada
Oh ok trata de comprar una que benga programada con tu vin# , otra cosa donde recibio ep golpe trata de quitarle el panel y inspectiona todo los cables que esta dentro de esa puelte pueda see que algun cable este topando tierra

Correcto pero el dealer no lo ba aser , tiene que see un shop a parte ,, yo le llebe esta tahoe y le dije lo que abia que aser y me dijeron que no , que ello tiene que aser su propio diagnostico y le dije que no y de todo modo me cobraron $195 , el dealer son uno Ladrones legal te robarn sin pena ,, no termine enbun dealer que no te ban a solucionar nada mas que sacarte dinero

I have a 07 Chevy Silverado that has a bad bcm. I've gotten changed and reprogrammed 3 different times and it goes bad with each bcm. Chevy manufacture said all my wires to the bcm were looking good and we still can't figure out the problem. Itll run good for a fractional amount of time then fries the new bcm sometime later, do you have idea of what it could be?
(BCM) Raelyn So what I would need you to check is first if there is anything aftermarket installed that attaches to the ignition switch or wiring.
Second, is there any damaged wiring to the ignition switch or the Body Control Module (BCM).
IF you find no issues with that fuse, check the wiring to the theft module in the steering column around the ignition switch. One of those wires or module is the issue. With it happening only intermittently, that suggest this is a problem with wiring rather than a module. I would suggest as well that you try tapping on the modules to see if a loose connection inside causes this.

if a relay attached/replaced is wrong (for your vehicle), voltages can spike upwards of 300-400 VOLTS! frying every BCM that you care to install.

Mmmm sound like an electrical problem , check for any wires in the engine maybe some animal cut it and when the car move the wires they are touching each other
@@nestorautorepair going to have to check it out. The other day when i stopped at a light all gauges stopped working and abs , stabilitrak lights came on. Turned truck of then on and everything worked again. Idk if it has something to do with the other issue. That only happened once though and hasn’t happened again.
What were your readings at pin 6 & 14 at the obd2 connector when the BCM was bad?

Hey man I think this happened to my 08 chevy suburban. She just died from me disconnecting the battery. How can I know for sure this is what happened, she doesnt crank but there's power. I hook up the scanner tool but get no codes. Theres no communication to the scanner
Ok if there no communication with the scanner then your fix will be with the ecu the one in the engine compartment , not the bcm inside by the pedal
Also check all the fuse the ecu fuse

I bought a 2007 Chevy Tahoe three days ago and now it says anti theft lock and won’t crank! My dealer is goin got tow it to his mechanic to see what’s the problem I wish u was my mechanic or can give him some advice, I sent him both videos! On this truck I hope it helps him fix my truck I’m very upset about it!

I just did a sound system installed on my 2008 sierra and after i was done with the install my truck don’t want to start, crank no start even the airbag light came on. What could it be?
Check all your fuse maybe is your fuel pump fuse
Try some starting fluid and see if is start ,, if it starts don't press the gas pedal at all ,, it will do big damage ,, it will blow fire to the intake
But if it start then you know you have a gas delivery problem

Hi Nestor I have a 2007 tahoe and my 2 rear door locks won't unlock just lock even with the key fob and both door switches I've all ready replaced both rear door lock actuators and still nothing theirs no power to the unlock just the lock

Hello yes sir you have a broken wire at the driver door where the wires come form inside the car to the outside and then inside the door by the two door hinge , hope this help

Bad cat or low fuel pressure , or more then 1 coil will make that happen is the check engine flashing ? A bad BCM will not let you crank it
CAT?? My truck was running perfectly fine and then lose all my power - dash didn't light up or anything turned on after attempting....changed the ECU and I got light , relays , and dash lit up ..pulled codes all high voltage and low voltage on components (TPS , CKPS AND MORE) I just checked on it two days ago and it's still in a crank no start condition
Have you try starting fluid ? But don't step on the gas pedal
When you say missing ok so is not starting sound like a bad crank sensor

Would a bad bcm cuase a parasitic drain? I have a 08 yukon xl and when i take out the fuse 10amp for the bcm it wont drain the battery. It usually drains the battery with the fuse on in 4 hours
Yes if is bad it will kill the battery I had the same problem with this one

Check for water infiltration in 3rd brake light, can run down wires to sensor in the drivers door pillar at rear, causing a short and/or corrosion, replace that sensor, fixed water leak.

Can it be an used bcm or does it has to be new
8t can be use but some one need to program it to your vin
I did the 10 min battery reset and unplugged the pcm and it still didn't crank dashboard lights go off when I try to start it
Ok then more likely your bcm is bad not the bcm ,, so you need the one in the engine not the one by your foot
Also there is a pink wire at the back of the block make sure that wire is connect

My 07 is having issues. Nothing w cranking yet. But battery keeps dying check engine light flashs after sitting idle to long and 4x4 doesn't work. Buy a chevy they said lol

@@nestorautorepair my cats ran away long time ago lol. No cats built truck w tune. I'm leaning towards plugs or coil.. bit does the bcm have anything to do w encoder motor. My 4wd worked now it does. Did all the cleaning grounds and stuff. Still nothing but switch blinks and seems dim but just might be the leds for backlighting

@@nestorautorepair oh yea. Its an 07 Avalanche 5.3 dod delete long tubes stage 3 cam tune built trans yank stall ls7 lifters 90mm tb. Just have stupid little issues like battery dying. I'm sure it needs a tune up for the light flashing. It does it at idle so remote start works till light flashes. Since remote start won't work w check engine lights on
