- Brood Baby Presents The Lost Tapes: a web series featuring rare and unreleased hip-hop performances and interviews from our archives. Most of this footage was shot on MiniDV tape and has spent the past 6-8 years collecting dust inside cardboard boxes ... until now.
Episode 01 features an interview with Vinnie Paz (circa 2006) outside of WNYU's The Halftime Show.
It was a punch line. Don't take violent lyrics so seriously. Vinnie took an evil and grotesque way to approach that song, so he used that guy as a way for people to see how he was feeling on that subject at that particular moment. I wish society would stop fucking whining so damn much nowadays. Take things with a grain of salt. Damn.

We used to pump JDM all day when we were 13, after that I kept listening. Still now 12 years later I think Vinnie's The Boss.
Of course, part of who Vinnie has become is a result of things he's experienced after we parted ways. But much of who he has become was ALWAYS IN HIM. Always counter-culture, hard nosed, a free thinker, an intellectual (and a wise ass!) The word "real" is over-used nowadays. But Vinnie Paz is REAL in the truest sense of the word! His fans should take great comfort in that!
I haven't seen him in about... half our lives, but I couldn't be prouder of him or happier for him.
For real man. Doesn't matter if he's a "celebrity" or not. He acted the way he wanted to act. Get a grip and move on. I'm sure if you met him again he'll act differenty. When did you met him? His step father past away a few years back, maybe he was dealing with some personal issues and didnt know how to act around some, fan or not. Seriously, who cares. Like I said, if he did that to me I'd be like "Yeah I met Vinnie, he's a cool dude but came off rude." I would bitch about.

HE clearly knows a lot more than My Generation, but I'm a 90's baby. I was born early-Mid 1990, so yes The 90's is Considered Old-School to me. '96 was a Differant Era of Music, so I Do Consider that Old School, and I Think anything before the year 2000, Maybe even 2001 should be considered Old-School, but believe me, I Know about all the shit I grew up on, and Know that Todays Music is NOT Music lol

I knew Vinnie very well, for a long time, while we were growing up. We met as small boys in the neighborhood and hung out all the way into high school before we just grew apart. I only just recently (like in the last TWO WEEKS) discovered what path he's walking now; and it doesn't surprise me at all!
Because, as he says in the interview above, he was always on this path!

Youre entitled to your opinion on the man for the way he acted when you met him. There's nothing wrong with that. I simply just said that there's a more mature way to deal with it, chalk it up and move on, not go on the internet and blast him. Real juvenile. Vinnie actually did box during his youth. Plus he writes for a well known boxing column. When his hip-hop career took off, he focused entirely on music. If you don't know his background, then why comment on it? Get the fuck outta here!

Vinnie is the best. Been a fan of his music for many years now. Kool G. Rap is perhaps the greatest of all time. Rakim is a good candidate also. The history of hip hop is strange because different era’s come along and it’s as if the groups a year prior are a million years ago. The golden era rappers are mostly all forgotten sadly and it’s full of incredibly influential names. Most people don’t even know Queen Latifah was a rapper and a damn good one
