Thank you soooo much for showing me the double seam. Until I saw your video I just could NOT get the join. I like that you explain nice and slow and take it apart and show again. You're the best and so is your furry assistant.
I knew if I was patient and waited for you to do a video on double seam peyote I would be able to understand it. All those "simple explanations" on the facebook page were making me cross-eyed. Many, many thanks for this video and for the one introducing us to single seam peyote. Love your little helper!
I am happy to hear that you found my video useful. I try my best to make things simple to understand and I am very happy to see the positive response from beaders like you. Thank you for watching :-)
I just found you, and I'm pretty new at beading & never even tried regular peyote. But this was interesting. I appreciate that you're calm, not overly talkative and no unnecessary music. By the way, at the end (bloopers), that was so cute! New subscriber.
Wow, thank you sooo much for sharing that with us. You do such a great presentation... I love the way how you actually take your time to show how something is done properly. LOL when I watch other videos everybody has to there in such a hurry to get the piece done that you got to stop it go back a bit watch it again or better yet watch it a few times so you can actually see what it is that are doing. LOL... Once again thank you I love your work.
Thank you for the video! Is it possible to show how to convert a crochet scheme to peyote with a twist, and where to stop, and connect two corners together? Would be very grateful.
Thanks for the great tutorial. You did a great job explaining and keeping your hands and work in focus, unlike other tutorials I have seen. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you come up with.
Puppies are so cute.....as are cats. One girl has a cat that jumps up but stays off to the side & all you can see is one paw. So cute, they say it's my time, I want to play or be petted....lol Love the new stitch
you all prolly dont care at all but does anybody know of a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Mohammad Esteban I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Merci d'avoir regardé ma vidéo et je suis assez content d'entendre que vous l'avez aimé. Used google translate sorry if it is not grammatically correct. :-)
I took your class at Simply Beadiful this weekend. You are amazingly patient and encouraging! Between the class instructions and this video I got the double seam with 11os to boot! Thanks so much! I am hooked :-)
Can you also please make a videoOf how to close a bangle PWAT? That would be so helpful. Many members of the FB group I joined are a bit skeptic about closing the bangle. Thanks for all your tutorials.
Thank you for your tine doing this video. I was wondering how many more videos do you plan to make on this beautiful technique? I would like to know how do you start using a peyote pattern to do this or do you try using bead crochet patterns and what row do you start with. .
I can't give you a number of how many videos about Peyote With a Twist I will be recording as I do them on my spare time. I can say that I will record a few more.
The odd count thing was a mistake I made. In reality, Peyote With a Twist was designed so that we never have to work with odd count Peyote and therefore, we don't have to worry about that funky turn odd-count peyote uses. When we work with a rope with an odd number of beads as its circumference we use the single seam method. We begin working with your circumference, let's say 9 beads, and you add one more bead for a total of 10 beads (like in my video). When you join and create the tube two of those columns become one leaving you with a circumference of 9 beads. When the circumference of the rope we are creating is an even number of beads then we begin with the circumference (14 beads in the video) and we add two more beads (for a total of 16 beads). When we join we lose two of those beads leaving us with a circumference of 14 beads. So you see, there is no need for an odd count version. Sorry, for the confusion. :-)
Hello ! Je suis française, votre vidéo est très bien filmée j'ai bien vu comment faire. Je n'ai pas compris les commentaires mais je vais pouvoir faire un collier "Peyote With a Twist - Not Crochet" Merci beaucoup, je m'abonne
Hi can you tell me what size beads you used please and is it delicas or seed beads. Still learning so not sure of many things yet, but I love your video and so want to try 💅🏻
Excellent tutorial. One suggestion: Always use a white thread for instructional purposes, especially when you have a dark bead mat. It is nearly impossible to see the thread path on the double seam join.
I don't get how you keep all your beads together in the beginning. Mine are always sliding and not staying in place.. Is there a secret to keeping them in place ?
The beads I used in this video where size 8/0 and the needle is a size 10 sharp (long) Tulip. I only used these beads because they show better in the video, but I would normally use smaller beads for a Peyote with a Twist project. Especially if the project is a bracelet. Smaller beads tend to produce ropes that have more flexibility and larger beads produce ropes that are stiffer. I hope this information helps you.
I am sure you will get it. It looks a bit intimidating at first, but once you understand it you will notice that it is not as complicated as it looked.
One can create beautiful necklaces and bracelets using this technique. If you look at my facebook page facebook.com/thebeadboy1 (as well as other beadweaving designers) you will see all of the projects we have completed using this technique. Like with any beadweaving technique, the possibilities are endless, of course, you have to use your imagination once you have learned the basic technique. :-)
Awesome, I have 2 boys. Chow Yun my oldest at almost 15 yrs is black with a white stripe down his chest. And Shaolin my white, grey & black is 10 yrs old now. They are a special kind of love.
Th double seam version of Peyote With a Twist allows us to create a rope with an even amount of beads in the circumference. The single seam version is used when working with an odd number of beads in the circumference. I hope this answers your question. :-)
Sure, you can change the beads if you'd like. The only thing you should keep in mind is that the diameter of the rope will be affected by the change in size. Larger beads will produce larger diameters and vice versa. :-)
I can't make any promises, but I will try. Though I most likely will create a video on how to read my patterns as there is no standard on how to write a pattern for Peyote With a Twist yet.
Mitch must be a dog. :) At least the noises in the background sound like dog nails on a hard surface floor. Personally, as a dog lover/owner, I love that you have your dog right there with you. Background noise doesn't bother me at all. It's quiet enough that it shouldn't bother anyone else.
Yes, Mechas and Oleg are two beautiful Shih Tzus I share my life with. They are always around when I record, but sometimes start playing around and become noisy when I am recording. :-)
I do not understand the difference between your single seam and your double seam tutorial. You used an even number of beads in both tutorials, here 16 and in the other one 10 beads. This is very confusing. Can you please explain?
Yes, you are correct I began both the single and double seam with an even number of beads, but if you notice the true number of beads you are working with changes once you have joined the flat peyote into a tube. Take the single seam, for instance, I began working with ten beads (even number), but once join two of those columns join and become one. Thus, we are left working with nine beads (odd number) for the remainder of the project. The double seam sample, I began working with 16 beads (even number) but the join in this sample uses four columns (two at each end of the flat peyote) that become two columns which left me working with a circumference of fourteen beads (even number) for the rest of the project. To sum up, single seam Peyote With a Twist is used when working with a circumference that is an odd number of beads. The double seam technique is used with the circumference of the rope you are working with is an even number of beads. Hope this clarifies the difference between the two techniques for you. :-)
Um, don't you actually have 18 beads per row? EI. 2+14+2? Looks like the accent rows match up more seamlessly with 2 accent beads on each side. Very nice! TFS! Have you demo'd odd-count Peyote With a Twist yet? Yes? Link please. :)
Technically yes, but I did explain that when working with the double seam technique you work with the circumference plus two beads. In this case, the circumference is 14 beads plus the two that we need to add bringing it to a total of eighteen beads, but with peyote, we pick up the first two rows when we begin our project so we actually have nine beads in each row, not eighteen or sixteen. :-) Once we join the two sets of two turquoise beads (four columns) come together to become one set of two beads (two columns) meaning we lose two beads so after the join we are working with the circumference only (16 beads).
Oh, OK. I think I get it now. I just re-watched the most important segments to me. So glad I did! I think I get why I couldn't bring my corners together. I loaded 16 beads at first, 2 accents on each end, and then wove 17 rows. I think I should have woven only 15 rows, right?
When working with the double seam you want to complete the number of rows that matches your circumference plus one row. In this video, for example, my circumference is 16 beads so I have to complete 16 rows plu one more row, 17 in total in order to join. Don't forget that on your last row you don't add the last bead.
Although I must admit that there are instances when I do more out of frame you are the only person who is unable to see and understand what is happening. Everyone else is able to follow along just fine.
Thankyou Edwin you have made alot of PWAT beaders very happy. Great video.
Thank you. I do hope that many beaders find this video useful. :-)
Thank you soooo much for showing me the double seam. Until I saw your video I just could NOT get the join. I like that you explain nice and slow and take it apart and show again. You're the best and so is your furry assistant.
Great to hear you liked the video. The join can be a bit tricky, but not that difficult once you do it at least one time.
I knew if I was patient and waited for you to do a video on double seam peyote I would be able to understand it. All those "simple explanations" on the facebook page were making me cross-eyed. Many, many thanks for this video and for the one introducing us to single seam peyote. Love your little helper!
I am very happy that this video helped you! It really is much simpler than it sounds, but the result is quite beautiful.
First time doing double seam, and your directions were great. Thanks
Excellent! Thanks for clear explanations and REASONS why you are doing something; the "why" helps me to understand and be able to adapt.
I am happy to hear that you found my video useful. I try my best to make things simple to understand and I am very happy to see the positive response from beaders like you. Thank you for watching :-)
Thank you so much for this video, precise and very clear much appreciated best twist peyote tutorial, I have seen so far .
thank you for clarify the circumference and number of rows for the 'joining' point
I just found you, and I'm pretty new at beading & never even tried regular peyote. But this was interesting. I appreciate that you're calm, not overly talkative and no unnecessary music. By the way, at the end (bloopers), that was so cute! New subscriber.
Thank you for sharing, am going to try this.
Awwww, love your puppers!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for doing this video.....finally, mystery solved!!! Cute puppy dog!
It appears to be more complicated than what it actually is. Have fun.
Very clear instructions. Thanks.
Thank you. I am happy to hear you liked my video.
Wow, thank you sooo much for sharing that with us. You do such a great presentation... I love the way how you actually take your time to show how something is done properly. Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate you taking the time to type your lovely message.
Thanx so much. Very much appreciate you explaining the double seem so explicitly.
You are quite welcome!
:-)
very nice
Thank you!!!!!! I had been struggling with the double seam.
I hope my video helps you eliminate the struggle part. :-)
Thank you for the wonderful tutorial. It was very clear and easy to follow..
Thanks for showing!
Your videos are great! Easy to follow along with. Thank you. I refer back to them all the time for the joins.

Nice video..and appreciated the bloopers at the end! Good tutorial. Thanks
Just found you. Great explanation.
Very easy to understand the way you explained it ..thank you !!
Thank you!
Thanks for the tutorial. OMG! I finally see the light! 😆
:-) happy to hear you found my video useful!
Thank you for the video! Is it possible to show how to convert a crochet scheme to peyote with a twist, and where to stop, and connect two corners together? Would be very grateful.
Thank you so much for the clear teaching!
You’re awesome! Thank you for making this!
Thanks for the great tutorial. You did a great job explaining and keeping your hands and work in focus, unlike other tutorials I have seen. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you come up with.
Thank you. I haven't had much time to record any videos lately, but will get to working on new videos soon.
Puppies are so cute.....as are cats. One girl has a cat that jumps up but stays off to the side & all you can see is one paw. So cute, they say it's my time, I want to play or be petted....lol
Love the new stitch
Oleg usually lays by my feet or next to me on my bench when I am recording, but this time he decided to investigate what I was doing.
I appreciate what you do to help us understand this .Gracias
Great tutorial . Very much appreciated . Kay x
You are very welcomed!!
Great video. I love this stitch and can’t wait to start a double seam.
you all prolly dont care at all but does anybody know of a way to log back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly forgot the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Shiloh Khalid instablaster =)
@Mohammad Esteban I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process atm.
Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Gracias Edwin! Eres lo maximo!

It is really quite easy once you understand it.

I am hooked :-)
can't wait to learn how to use different patterns and colors of beads
Thank you for sharing
Thank you for watching! :-)
Best tutorial...
Very, very well done. Thank you.
Thank you for your lovely message! :-)
Awesome instructions! LOVE your blooper! 🐾💕
Thank you. He usually lays by my feet when I record, but this time he decided to see what has happening on my table. :-)
Thank you so much. I think I'll be able to do it now.
I'm sure you will.
If I would like to have three coloured beads on either side, how do I proceed?
Gracias, gracias, gracias ♡♡♡
Con mucho gusto!!! :-)

What an adorable Shitzu! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Good tutorial! Loved your helper too -- lol
He was very curious to see what I was doing. :-)
ACL Patterns and More would you please make a pattern design with double seam...I can't understand.
What do you mean? What are you having trouble understanding?
Um modo perfeito de unir os lados. Muito obrigada.
What if we want a thinner more delicate tube?
Finally understand how to do a double seam. Thank a lot Edwin. Best beading wishes for 2018 xoxoxo
Thank you! Best wishes to you as well. :-)
Great video thank you. Really easy to follow you. White thread or lighter beads might have been even clearer though x
Thanks
You're welcome! :-)
Thank you!
Well, I think I figured it out finally. But thank you for responding!
You're welcome! Happy to help! :-)
Can you also please make a videoOf how to close a bangle PWAT? That would be so helpful. Many members of the FB group I joined are a bit skeptic about closing the bangle. Thanks for all your tutorials.
I can't make any promises, but I will try.
Thanks so much and cutest blooper ever :-D
Thanks. They are and they love to make noise when I am recording.
TIENES ESTE MISMO PERO EN ESPANOL?
thank you wonderful
Thank you!
How do you finish it off at the ends???
Looks like there will have to be a very thick tube inside to keep it from collapsing.
thank you for the video. Can you clarify the turnaround. It is different that single seam correct.
Yes, both joining and the turn are performed different in the single seam and double seam versions of Peyote With A Twist.
Thank you for the tutorial, very informative. It would have been easier to follow the thread path with a lighter color thread.
Are you releasing the video on odd count soon?
The odd count thing was a mistake I made. In reality, Peyote With a Twist was designed so that we never have to work with odd count Peyote and therefore, we don't have to worry about that funky turn odd-count peyote uses.
When we work with a rope with an odd number of beads as its circumference we use the single seam method. So you see, there is no need for an odd count version. Sorry, for the confusion. :-)

Excellent tutorial. One suggestion: Always use a white thread for instructional purposes, especially when you have a dark bead mat. It is nearly impossible to see the thread path on the double seam join.
Thank you very nice, but I would like to know how I do to make a 50 centimeter necklace.
To bead a necklace that is 50 centimeters long you would just bead until you reach the length you would like.
I would like to know what "purpose" the double seam serves. Is only for added stability? or is there something I'm missing.
How many beads width?
I don't get how you keep all your beads together in the beginning. Mine are always sliding and not staying in place.. Is there a secret to keeping them in place ?
I just thought of a question I never stopped to think about before. What is the PURPOSE of having/using a DOUBLE seam?
👍
finally learned how to do double seam
Awesome!
Thank you for watching. Share this video with your beading friends. :-)
I love your video but still cannot crack the turn. I shall keep watching it again and again until I do.
I am sorry you are having trouble with the turn, but do love your perseverance. :-)
Very nice. Can I request the next example be a pattern?
I can't make any promises, but I will see what I can do.
Hey There !!
What is the size of the beeds n needle.....? Can u plz tell..?
The beads I used in this video where size 8/0 and the needle is a size 10 sharp (long) Tulip.
I only used these beads because they show better in the video, but I would normally use smaller beads for a Peyote with a Twist project. Especially if the project is a bracelet. Smaller beads tend to produce ropes that have more flexibility and larger beads produce ropes that are stiffer.

Love your video i am trying very hard to follow because I am still a learner☹
I am sure you will get it. It looks a bit intimidating at first, but once you understand it you will notice that it is not as complicated as it looked.
This is all very interesting, but what would anyone do with the finished product? Doesn’t look like anything to wear.
Grest video, very easy to follow you as you work. Loved your little helper too. Is that a shih tzu? I have a shih tzu with similar color patterns. :)
Yes, Oleg is a Shih Tzu. I have two, a boy (Oleg) and a girl (Mechas).
Awesome, I have 2 boys. Chow Yun my oldest at almost 15 yrs is black with a white stripe down his chest. And Shaolin my white, grey & black is 10 yrs old now. They are a special kind of love.
Can you answer the question as what is the need for this particular double stitch? Thanks.
Th double seam version of Peyote With a Twist allows us to create a rope with an even amount of beads in the circumference. The single seam version is used when working with an odd number of beads in the circumference. I hope this answers your question. :-)
Hi Edwin. Love your art. a question, I downloaded the "Love in Bloom" chart from your website. Can I change the bead sizes? Say like an 8/o and 11/o?
Sure, you can change the beads if you'd like. The only thing you should keep in mind is that the diameter of the rope will be affected by the change in size. Larger beads will produce larger diameters and vice versa. :-)
Please please please do a video on how to read a pattern for us beginners. There are none in English!
I can't make any promises, but I will try. Though I most likely will create a video on how to read my patterns as there is no standard on how to write a pattern for Peyote With a Twist yet.
Buenos días por favor denos el video en español no entiendo nada nada muchísimas gracias mí Dios me lo bendiga

Sorry i think is me but it was hard to see the thread path
Would it be possible for you to see it on a larger screen? That may help.
Please 6
is it The Fur-Baby making the Noise ??lol
parsleybrain ~~j0
Once we join the two sets of two turquoise beads (four columns) come together to become one set of two beads (two columns) meaning we lose two beads so after the join we are working with the circumference only (16 beads).
Got it, thanks.
Dommage qu'il ne montre pas ce qu'il fait en plus c'est mal cadré
christel blevin the video is clear and very informative. We should be more appreciative of him doing this to help us understand.
Although I must admit that there are instances when I do more out of frame you are the only person who is unable to see and understand what is happening. Everyone else is able to follow along just fine.
