This was not a “bad night”. It’s bad technique. In 2022 at a Bonn Christmas Concert, she couldn’t even sustain a steady, pitch-centered, legato line in Panis Angelicus! Panis Angelicus has a range of a minor 6th!! SIX NOTES.

It's sad that she was in the Met and the Royal Opera House quite a decent amount of time in different productions while the great Beverly Sills was in a lesser amount than her.Sills once said in an interview that she have always wanted to sing in the Met but only got the chance to sing in and around the end of her career.I don't get it,why did the Met went from one of the best theaters with the best singers to one of the best theaters with one of the worst singers (Although, i'm not saying that all the singers in the Met are bad).They don't let the good singers sing but let the worst singers sing,as I have said I don't get it
I don't mean to be rude, I actually think Olga's voice is basically quite lovely in timbre, but... She isn't even 40 yet, and for someone specializing in coloratura roles, that is EXTREMELY early to start abandoning high D's and Eb's. I realise her high notes have been unreliable for some years, but if, at her young age, you are losing the top required to sing the repertoire you've specialized in, maybe identifying the problem would be a good idea? Maybe you need to address an issue with your vocal technique? Or maybe you should be singing another repertoire? In any event, Olga is a lovely woman who seems quite likable in interviews, and I wish her well.
Kim Dreyer Peretyatko was more talented in mass media, than on stage. Interviews, cooking shows, she is present on Facebook, 24/7, chatting and posting hundreds of photos. This has worked for a number of years, but now people started realising that her singing isn't good. She always had issues hitting the notes in the middle and especially at the top and bottom. She's been singing flat from day 1, but things worked because she was pretty looking, young, fresh and everyone hoped she's sing better in time. It wasn't the case, in fact, she got worse. It's not only about high Ds and Ebs, she has insecure top...even her A5 isn't good. She started off without a vocal technique, and now, at the age of 40, she is good to retire. The voice itself has never been special, it was a basic voice with an unrecognisable colour or any other distinct elements. And she sang loudly, without any good projection. In all fairness, I think she was a mediocre singer at start, who got worse because she lacked the vocal technique.

What happened to her in 7 years? I saw some clips of Rossini's Matilde di Shabran with Florez, and she sounded lovely! It was the first time I had heard of her... Confused!

Probably they would be more exciting than Olga. The lack of high notes is not such a big issue. The problem is that she is mostly off pitch, those horrendous trills, no legato, all messy, lack of musicianship, no taste at all....all those "variations" LOL

Yes I agree. This performance was meant to highlight Juan Diego Florez singing so they brought the worst soprano possible. In his debut as Edgardo his Lucia was the wobbly Mosuc. They only choose bad sopranos as stage partners for him. At least Mosuc used to be good a while ago. Olga is a parody.
Honestly, it's sad for them that they accept to sing in these conditions. Florez does't like to sing with good sopranos, that's for sure. But that's also sad for him, it shows insecurity. They could have brought Nadine Sierra who isn't necessarily great but she is young and healthy, and for now, things work fine for her. But in that case, JDF wouldn't be the star of the evening anymore.
Sierra is good and she looks good on stage. She's young, natural, the voice is fresh. The commercial public @Wien would love her for sure. I saw the performance and nobody cared about Peretyatko, it was all about Florez. They should have changed the title into Edgardo di Ravenswood. Petean was actually the best on stage, as much as the role allowed him to showoff his talent.

Olga is beautiful but she can no longer sing. She must accept this and just take up modelling instead of singing.
I doubt that with her small stature, short crooked legs, and overweight she will be able to do modeling. She just needs to sing in the church choir.

btw she isn't short, she is a tall and pretty lady....just not talented as an artist or insufficiently talented for the level at which she is singing.
