Appreciate your taking the time to explain "The Grand Slam". Looking forward to checking it out. Hopefully, most of the big names sign up.

I would like to see MJ add a 60m and 150m event b/c that would make the event more dynamic by giving athletes who have a fast start a chance in both the 60m & 150m. This would benefit those athletes who may fade in the 100m & 200m.

for the ones that have amazing top speed I imagine the 150m would be great!

I'm thankful this series has been put together. I know we'd like to see field events as well, but time limitations and just getting the event off the ground is hard enough. If someone else wants to do the same for field events, fine.

Yes if this is successful, field need their own space

As someone who threw discus and ran the open qtr in school, at first I worried about field events getting left out but its explained well here.

For the short hurdle category they should use the 60mh instead of an open 100 and for the long hurdles, add a 300mh instead of an open 400, so then you don’t repeat events between divisions

Interesting. I wonder if long hurdle competitors running the 400 m dash will compete against athletes in the long sprints category. They didn’t explain that.

would like to see more competition at the odd distances that you usually only see at collegiate level like 150m, 300m, 600m, 1000m

Hey Coach, thanks for the explanation. I believe I heard MJ say the challengers will be paid an appearance fee along with prize money. Can you help confirm?

@@dominicdarmanin9866 it's probably atleast 60k for lower ranking athletes, even if they get ranked dead last in all 4 seasons they compete in

Me too! The mortgage sinks in, the more I can’t wait to see it. There is a lot of logic to it.

Where are you even going to host these events? There are no T&F facilities except for at colleges. I guess you're gonna have to hope and pray they don't hold you over a barrel and charge you up the a-ha in use fees. I think it's really dead in the water

There is a Citius Mag pod cast titled Grand Slam Track that I believe addresses this.

Calling it "short distance" is idiotic. Just call it middle distance like the rest of the planet.

Yeah, I thought that was weird, too. In someways it seems like they’re trying to cater to non-track fans. Or, I should say, a greater audience.
