- Hoe to fix a P0073 engine code: Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit High Input
What is the Ambient Air Temperature Sensor?
The ambient air temperature sensor reports the outside temperature to the computer. It is usually located in the front grill or bumper.
The sensor is a Thermistor, which is a resistor whose resistance decreases when the temperature rises.
To get accurate temperature readings, it needs to be shielded from direct sunlight and strong winds.
Possible Causes of a P0073 Code
Bad Ambient Air Temperature Sensor
Faulty Wiring (Open/Short)
How To Test an Ambient Air Temperature Sensor
Each sensor will have its own resistance specifications.
Resistance should change based on temperature.
It should not be open and have a resistance reading.

This was very helpful! Thank you! I recently changed my horn and one piece I took out was the ambient air sensor that was connected to the old horn
My car same problem long time
Gota love the notivation in the voice. Thanks for the info bro.
cool
Would that trigger a check engine light?
yes
and prevent a passing inspection
Is this a big problem? Will it cause more damage if I do not get it fixed?
It likely won't cause any damage. Usually, the HVAC auto mode doesn't work, and the temp gauge is wrong, things like this. I made a video on the symptoms of a bad ambient air temp sensor. Here is a link. ua-cam.com/video/2SelSnDezVc/v-deo.html
