It's adequate honestly, the turret location is both a burden and blessing because you can catch up to medium/light tank that's circling you, BUT disadvantage in a face-to-face battle. The tungsten shell consumable is good to finishing off enemy below 700 HPs.
Just think of it like the dmg dealing heavy for the Germans E-100 the Balanced, Maus the heavy armor and Vk the gun focused tank. based from my experience too that tank can get high rolls more often than E-100 ( without using the tungsten ) so for me I play vk like a support since I think its main strength is the gun not its armor. The armor is just a bit trollish u can still bounce but dont rely on it too much.

Actually, I just researched and bought it an hour ago. It's okay but it's more like a support tank. His special Camo looks very realistic and nice. I already have the Maus and it has better armor and makes more damage per minute than the VK. I mean the VK is good but when you want a really good Heavy tank from the German Tech Tree then you should buy the E-100. The E100 is the best in my opinion

You only can ram or attack a tank when no one can attack you from the sites. But the turret front amor with 200 mm is in tier X also bad. Basically you cant push with the VK. If you have him too you will understand

Armor is actually pretty good, just have to stay frontal infront of enemies because the side is very weak.

The VK 72 Frontal Armor Is Good, But the reload and dpm sucks but it has a nice alpha damage.
