"you've been taking way too much time off recently"
Is this sentence spoken in english?

Thank you for your interest and question.
It is a grammatically correct sentence. The phrase “way too much” which might have made you confused, is used to emphasize that something is more than normal.
In this case, it means that the person has taken more time off than they should have.
      Further examples:
He drinks way too much coffee. (He drinks more coffee than is good for him.)
She has way too much homework. (She has more homework than she can handle.)
That skirt is way too short. (That skirt is not long enough to cover what it should.)
On the other hand, the sentence can be used " I noticed that you have taken a lot of time off lately" as well, and also it is more polite.

@@englishbulary I really appreciate your kind explanation. I had thought 'way' as noun.
But now I've found the word 'way' could be used adverb also.
English is way too much to learn.

@@user-dj1po9zg7s Yes! "Way" can be used as an adverb. And I liked your example.😊
