Beautiful
I bet that fly will be a good imitation of the Yellow Sallies this Autumn in the Wild Basin. Thanks Davie, once again you have tied a magnificent fly.
Davie you should give us a tour of your fly tying bench set up! Alot of people are curious how a master like you has there desk set up
Hi Jesse G,
It's not the best setup but if I do get the chance over the summer I might do a small film on the way I store my fly tying materials..ATB Davie..
Beautifully done as always! Thanks for sharing! 🙏🙏
I was hoping for this after seeing yesterday's photo. Another quality video. Cracking
Hi David,
Good to learn tying the buble cdc. Thank you!
BW Greg
Nice. And I’ve got some bright yellow cdc so away we go! lol. Thank you for another one dude. Keep keeping safe.
I did enjoy it, Davie... thank you.
I learned this style of emerger from you, years ago now. I tie them as Beatis... small Blue Wing Olive types... wild mallard or teal CDC and gray olive dubbing. The fish think you've got quite the nice fly there, Davie... =]
Mike
Keep them coming Davie, this is another fly I use locally on the Lugton up here in Kilwinning. Your patterns are far better, cheers.
Mighty good! That one will fish... Thanks Davie
Very nice Davie
Even with shitty cdc he ties a masterpiece. Nice job lad.
The yellow may dun is one of the main flies on the river Monnow, thankfully the trout never read John Goddard's Waterside Guide so they love it. I find the thorax needs a touch of scarlet in it, like a Tup's Indispensable, for it to be taken really well. I tie it Klinkhamer style as well as CDC, it is essential to have patterns to represent this fly if you fish the Welsh Border rivers. Nice fly Mr McPhail, but that is no surprise, you are the best I have ever seen on youtube!
Great looking pattern! Thanks for sharing. The wing looks easier to yie than a elk hair caddis!
That's a belter mate. Plenty of Yellow Mays on the Clyde, albeit for next year now.
I'm your fan!!!! very cool flies. greetings
Very nice
Very great fly.
You always make it so easy 🤣👌👍
This looks like it would really pull in the panfish!
👏👏👏🎣
Nice

That pattern also translates to a good PMD

Exelent tecneque
Two to three more weeks and my favorite river should explode with Sulfurs. Then the “red fog” of the evening. Hope I can get away from work. I be sure to have a few in my box. Got any special rusty spinner patterns?
Hey davie... I was wondering on how you dye your feathers, furs. And other materials. And what are the steps included? Thank you very much davie! Your videos have helped me alot with my flies. The very best to you davie....
...Robert
Hi Robert,
I have attached links to videos in which I have dyed materials, you will get an idea of how I do it though dyeing materials is something you have to do and learn mostly yourself by just giving it a go..I'm glad you enjoy the videos and that they have helped you in some way...
All the very best Davie..

Morning Billy,
I use a Law vice but unfortunately it is no longer being made, they do come up from time to time for sale on Ebay but they can go for crazy prices you have to watch though as there's copies and they are not as well made..I have attached a link to a video I made on the vice which you may like to see
