    sometimes i feel like they messed up the values. Backscale pivot is probably one of the most difficult pivot still worth "only .05" ,and 0.7 for 2 rotation. also ring pivot shoud values more ,they require lot of back flexibilty . I got always confused with split pivot and penche ,in italy lof of times they are colled only penche . i feel like gymansts should get exatra poit for multiple rotation at least for the mos difficult pivots
    yana attitude form and tchachina illusion are to die for btw.
    as alwasy your videos are incredible

    • @ClematisRGVideos
      @ClematisRGVideos  4 роки тому +7

      Yes, they are many difficulties like that! I guess the reasons was to give equal chances to gymnasts with less back flexibility.

    What is this sport going to come down to if the body difficulty is so outweighed by the apparatus "handling". They need to get rid of the fouettes completely; revise the incremental score for the 2+ rotation for legitimately complicated turns (in which a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th rotation is really impressive, like the unassisted frontleg turns of Halkina or a triple attitude turn; NOT for them to rack up the BD score for Lala in the next CoP with BD's of 3 points). And that backward illusion turn, Tchachina again the best ever, with the way she performed those by holding the leg up while turning the torso --- her execution makes everything look like the difference between a professional dancer and kids in a summer camp class.

    • @ClematisRGVideos
      @ClematisRGVideos  4 роки тому +6

      I really agree that there should be some bonus for extra rotation. Like adding 10% for each additional turn, something like that. For example front leg like Halkina is 0.4, 2nd rotation is 0.1, 3nd rotation 0.1 x 1,1, 4th rotation 0.1 x 1,2 etc ....
      Tchachina really had the best backward illusion turn.

    This is amazing! I always loved Deng Sengue's Arabesque-to-Frontsplit-Pirouette, that was always just WOW! :) 😍 Thanks for your very informative video ;) Short question: The "Front Illusion" is not a rotation in that sense?😊

      that's what I was going to say, her relevé it's low but the position of the trunk it's the ideal, and honestly it's very hard to perform the side split with a high releve and the trunk at 90 degrees, it's one of the most unstable balances

    What about the cossack? Staniouta used to do that a lot

    • @ClematisRGVideos
      @ClematisRGVideos  4 роки тому +3

      Yes, true! Here, I only talked about rotations seen a lot during the 2017-2020 Olympic cycle. In term of value cossack are 0.1 per 360° rotation.

    • @Wiserwords25
      @Wiserwords25 4 роки тому +3

      @Erica Peri From what I read, Cossack turns are worth 0.1 for each rotation. That’s why they aren’t really popular anymore (or at all). Even Halkina, who’s amazing at that turn, could only earn around 0.4-0.5 points and in the end, it wasn’t worth doing.

    • @patem7379
      @patem7379 4 роки тому +2

      actually cossack are a trademark of the belarusian school, most of their gymnast performed it in the past, wasn't it one of the elements that its value was downgraded along with the BD supported on knee?

    Hi, i wanna ask you about Son Yeonjae's pivot in hoop 2014 at the first? It's a ring pivot without help?

    • @ClematisRGVideos
      @ClematisRGVideos  4 роки тому

      It's an attitude with back bent backwards. The value is the same as a ring pivot without help, but you can see the leg is sort of at the "horizontal" and the head reach for it and not the opposite (like in a ring pivot, were the head/bun must touch the leg/foot). It's quite rare to see it, even during the 2013-2016 quad when Son was performing it.

I'm wondering if Kabaeva's leg on the shoulder (Clubs 2001) or Kanaeva's (Clubs 2008), then they turn, but not like the ordinary rotation; it's more like balance but with a turn. I don't know how to describe it. But does it count as a rotation / turn, or just a balance?

    • @ClematisRGVideos
      @ClematisRGVideos  4 роки тому +5

      They were sort of half-deleted half-distributed across Rotation & Balance. For example penche in rotations, illusion is a rotation, fouette is a balance, Utyascheva is a balance etc...

    • @patem7379
      @patem7379 4 роки тому +5

      @@ClematisRGVideos as I remember Irina Deriugina lobbied for it's dissappearance of the Code of Point as Flexibility and Waves should be considered as a characteristic of the gymnast and not a group of BD, and honestly it was hard to define them, most of them seemed balances on flat foot or slow turns, as well there was an abuse of combining balances with flexibility and wave in the cycle of 2009 if I'm not wrong

  • @QQ-wl6yt
    @QQ-wl6yt 4 роки тому +1

    Also, even if Arina's ring pivots are awesome (while Dina's have become quite sloppy), Yana's stretched base leg ring pivot should be worth a lot more that with the bent base leg --- it looks a lot more difficult and its one of many, many, many nonsense parities of score values for this CoP.

    • @ClematisRGVideos
      @ClematisRGVideos  4 роки тому +5

      There many different ways of executing pivot that aren't rewarded: bent leg or not like you mentioned, but also turning clockwise or counterclockwise compare to your standing leg for example.

      And you can do the same for cossack too. The way rg judges can penalise your cossack for anything (trunk not vertical, bent legs and stretched leg not at the exact same level, bent arms, slight change in your axis ...). I didn't put it here because its value is only 0.1 (and difficult to put it in combination) so very rare to see it from rhythmic gymnast.
